  1. I have applied Cleanmem, the audio fix, as well as every windows security exception you have told me and the problem still persists. Sometimes I am able to enter the saloon without a memory error first time, yet when I try to enter after a second boot up, I get the memory errors, so what you said about the system memory being fragmented rings true. Other times I am not able to enter the saloon on a first boot up at all. Looking at the log again, instead of what you have put, I am getting 'Windows Exception code:0xc0000409', whenever I crash because of the activation of a mod quest, though this is only through looking at the log as I get no such notification when I actually crash. Looking it up, apparently it 'indicates a stack buffer overflow. Batch alignment problems usually occur when the return variable of a method does not match the return value of the parent method. Normally, a function is executed correctly and fails when the return occurs.', though I have no idea what this means. Regarding the advice to start a new character, I found out about this issue starting a new character after installing the plugin limit and about 20 new mods. All of them were clothing and weapon mods, and none of them were too memory heavy. I'm thinking that the combined size of those mods, as well as the memory used up by my other ones, is contributing greatly to this problem. I think I may have just just exhausted the games engine and hardware, even with implementing every patcher, mod and trick. I'm going to remove the plugin fix as well as a few of the memory intensive ones and reduce the plugin count to its recommended levels and see if that rectifies the problem. I'll report back my findings, but if you have any other thoughts I'd be happy to hear them. Thank you greatly for your continued help and patience with me and my problem.
  2. Well, I'm no longer unable to get into the prospector Saloon to check what the event log says when I crash starting the quest, as I'm now getting an 'Out of Memory' error every time I try and enter, where before I used to get it, I'd say 1 in 5 times. Checking the logs for the out of memory error points towards the faulty module being NVAC, but checking the log for that just tells me I had an Out of memory error, as opposed to any faulty of it's own. I then checked the logs for when I started the quest a day ago (when I was able to enter the saloon) and the faulty module for that simply says FalloutNV.exe itself is the cause of the problem??? So I'm really not sure where the problem specifically lies. I read on the NVAC mod page that its supposedly been made incompatible with NVSE due to a windows update. Do you think this could be it? Do you know of any other way that I could attempt to rectify the out of memory error, outside of uninstalling mods? I'm willing to do so to actually get my game to work, yet I want to exhaust all the other options before doing so.
  3. I cleaned my load order, and while clearing a lot of space for memory, doesn't have seemed to rectified the issue im having with quests. I moved my installation of Fallout out of program files after I had the permission issue last year. I'm not sure if its to do with windows as its been fine up to now. Are you sure the nvse_config.ini is supposed to be empty? Would reinstalling nvse rectify this issue perhaps? EDIT: Still getting 'Out of Memory Issues'. So maybe even with the plugin limit raised I'm still managing to use up 3.5GB with all of my mods. (as I've read that not matter what memory extending methods you use, if you reach that number the game cannot simply handle it and crashes). I've also thought it might be a memory leak, and I've tried a few fixes for that with no avail. Could the memory being exceeded cause the scripting of quests to fail? I'm not very well versed in the inner working of the engine. I've also enabled error lgging with NVSE, and I'm getting a lot of ''Unable to find function definition for command 21048 in script''. I could post the whole thing if it would help, but I doubt anyone would want to scour thorugh the whole thing. Thoughts? I've added both FalloutNV.exe and nvse_loader to the Windows security exceptions but that doesn't seem to have done anything. In regards to the config file, I've enabled the Sheson patch but that doenst seem to have done anything either. All the checks I perform in the console imply that NVSE, and it's various plugins, are working, but how could that be the case if I'm unable to start modded quests? Would it help if I posted the whole error log? I'm really not sure what to do anymore. Do you think it could be a memory issue? It wouldn't surprise me if I was using up all of it, even with the patchers.

  5. I am using NVSE and I think that might be the source of my problems. When I go into the nvse_config.ini file, its become completely blank. I.e. when I load into a game it generates in this way. I think that adding the NVSE plugin to allow more mods than the standard limit may have caused it to stop working properly. Ergo, whenever I try to begin a quest that has scripting outside the vanilla parameters, it crashes. At least that's what I'm thinking. I had a similar problem with my fallout.ini file generating completely blank about a year ago, which meant the game didn't work at all. It was caused by a permission issue which I solved, but 'im not sure that will solve the error I'm having this time. Any thoughts?

I'm beginning to thinl that this is a memory related issue, as I've been getting 'Out of Memory' messages. Not all the time, but sometimes when it craps out on me. I've some memory fixes, but to no avail (already had 4gb patcher before this negun happening). Could a memory issue be causing the CTD when gaining quests? Even hovering over them on my pipboy causes it to crash. Or does this behaviour point towards something else entirely? Thank you for your time anyway. EDIT: Just to clarify, Im not getting 'Out of Memory' crash alerts when I'm trying to start a new quest. I'm just wondering whether this is inadvertently contributing to the problem.
  7. As the title suggests, whenever I attempt to start a modded questline, a get an instant CTD. I first learned of this when I tried to pick up the note in the Prospectors Saloon which would have begun NV Bounties I, my game immediately froze. I thought it was just a minor issue so I ingored it and moved on. Yet when I tried to start another modded quest, The New Bison Steve Hotel, I got the same result. Que some testing with other unrelated but modded quests and its a game-wide issue. Vanilla quests work perfectly. The only thing I can think to have caused something this game breaking is a mod I downloaded which raised the plugin limit from 135 to 200+. I've only got 160 active ones, but I'm afraid I might have pushed it too far and now I've broke my game. Could someone please help?
  8. The SE version of Convenient horses seems to be lacking the option to give my modded followers, from Interesting NPC's, horses to ride alongside me with. I'm able to get vanilla followers to buy horses via the CH's dialogue options yet the dailogue does not present itself when talking with modded followers. What makes this particularly annoying is the fact that the LE version of the mod had it's own MCM menu (which this version does not)wherein you could simply check a box and all of your followers Vanilla and Modded would get one assigned to them which they would also be able to summon to them which they can not in the SE version. Had I known this, I would have ported the LE version instead which I cant do know because this would break my game. I am also using Extensible Follower Framework, and while good, does not seem to have the option to give my modded followers a horse. Can anyone help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated.
  9. EDIT: I've finally found the answer after bout a million CTD's. Learned of the Cathedral Assets Optimizer, played around with the options and created various optimized .bsa files to see which one would do the trick and I've finally succeeded in getting this f***ing weapon to materialise. A note for anyone who's having a similar problem - dont forget to open the .esp in the Creation kit, load it as an active file then save and exit it in order for it to convert from form 43 to 44, which SE can then use.
  10. I've attempted to port 'Valkyrja - viking sword' from Oldrim to Se as the older version has a two-handed option whereas the authors own port to Se for some reason does not. I've unpacked the BSA archive, optimized the textures aswell as installed it on mod manager in a 7zip archive. Yet whenever I add in the sword via console and try to equip it, the game crashes. I've looked around for a possible solution and even edited the .esp in the Creation kit as per nexus' own guide for porting mods, in order to fool the game into reading the .esp properly. Despite this, I still CTD. Could someone please show me the error of my ways, as I've been lead to beleive this should be a simple job, yet am confounded by my own stupidity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Its installed in Program Files (x86). I've heard how having it installed there is a bad idea because it can cause permission issues. The only thing is I was able to play it perfectly modded while it was installed there. I've only ran into this problem of the .ini being wiped after I downgraded to a less demanding texture pack because the larger one was raping my pc.
  12. My apologies, first time posting in one of these forums. As for a new .ini file being generated, I was browsing other forums, when another user mentioned this in response to someone who was also having .ini problems like me. I also saw it first hand. I.e. having the folder open when launching the game through script extender and seeing it disappear and reappear. All the content I had pasted into the .ini was also erased.
  13. After encountering the pink screen of death instead of the menu, I realised that my Archive invalidation was not working. This was because 'SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt' was changed to 'SInvalidationFile='. A troubleshooting mod told me this, so imagine my surprise when I opened up the 'Fallout.ini' file in 'My Games/FalloutNV', only to find thatàit was completely empty. So, I copied the content from 'Fallout_default.ini' located in my 'Steam/steamapps/common/FalloutNewVegas' folder. Archive invalidation worked, I booted up the game, and was met with the same pink screen as before. Only then did I learn that whenever steam launches the game, it generates an entirely new 'Fallout.ini' file, erasing the content I had pasted in, and becoming blank once again. Could anybody explain to me why this is happening and help me find out how to get the game to start generating proper .ini files? I've been troubleshooting this game for nearly 3 days now and its driving me quite insane.
