You can't access that when you have the pop up for installation options open, which is what I'm talking about and tried to be clear with that. Even if you open that beforehand, when the pop-up opens, the sidebar is closed automatically and the whole rest of the application except for the pop-up becomes blurred and inoperable.

It'd be really helpful to be able to edit personal notes and variant info during the whole install process for mods that have options. Especially for mods that contains many steps and loads of compatibility patches. Currently I have to write down what I chose in notepad and the copy paste to notes and variant fields afterwards.

Vortex is definitely more noob friendly than NMM. I can wrap my head around the more "evolved" modding tools, but most of the time I'd rather not if I don't have to. I've tried almost all the major mod managers in the past and didn't really like using any of them, I just did because they were the best tools available. So far Vortex is the only one that has been quite pleasant to use, even though there are some minor annoyances I've had with it, but still it's become my favorite mod manager already. For some simple setup with couple dozen mods you shouldn't have any issues with it.
