Trying to get Oblivion set up with some visual mods(physical copy through Elder Scrolls Anthology, latest game version), and I'm having a bit of a problem. I can get in-game, but when I do it looks like nothing is actually rendering, instead showing a flat blue-ish screen with the UI overlaid on top of it. This also persists after an uninstall of these mods, which is... strange, to say the least. Before anyone mentions it, yes, HDR is off, and yes, I have tried lowering the resolution, went down as far as 800x600. Load order below, if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. Oblivion.esm Knights.esp DLCShiveringIsles.esp Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp Grass Overhaul.esp Oblivion_Character_Overhaul.esp EDIT: Fixed it, turns out I somehow didn't have the right DirectX runtimes despite having installed them already. Amended by reinstalling straight from the disc, works like a charm now.

I don't know if it's a specific mod doing it or if it's just a modified quiver/scabbard setup, but you can probably find out if you download the other mods the author created and used in that screenshot. Here's a link to a list of all their files: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/2187008/?tb=mods&pUp=1 EDIT: Actually I was wrong. A quick application of Google-Fu led me to this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49784/?

Okay, so I'm trying to work on getting a new weapon in-game. At this point it's just experimentation, probably won't see release. Unfortunately I can't get anything to work right in-game. The weapon entry pulls the Elven Sword model despite being told to use my custom model, and when I drop it, I get big translucent error sign. I suspect that I have problems both with my .nif and with my entries, but I'm so far in over my head that I need someone else to take a look at it and figure out what the problems are. From there hopefully I can correct them and learn how to prevent them in the future. I should note that my model is made in Blender, so getting a .nif in to use for size comparison and getting one out to start getting ready for Skyrim was more than a little bit of a pain, and was confusing enough that I have no doubts something got screwed up somewhere in the process. In any event, here's a link to a .zip archive with all relevant files, and all form IDs in the Creation Kit will have VivecSword somewhere in the name: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0iaIJV9C9rIMDNuc1I2N0JXVms/view?usp=sharing

4GBLoader doesn't seem to be working
asmcint replied to TheMoogleOfLove's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Mine pulls up the launcher as well; I simply assumed that this was normal function. If that's not the case, I would also appreciate help on that subject. May also help me fix my ENB issues. -
If your just looking to change the ammo capacity, damage and crit that's a pretty simple edit to teh form, no problem. I'd be happy to set you up. If your looking to actually edit the model so the cylinder of the revolver houses 7 chambers, your probably not going to get any takers. If I just wanted to change those aspects without a new model, I could do that myself. I could even do a new fancy texture to match. But I would LIKE a modified 7-chamber cylinder.

Had an idea for a revolver, can't make it myself because I can't model worth a damn. Pretty much it's a 7-shot revolver taking .357 rounds. It should have low base damage, but about a 1-in-7 chance to crit, and extremely high critical damage. Pretty much the entire point of the weapon is that its power is entirely based on luck. Ideally found in a casino.

Trying to get an ENB preset up and running, but every time I launch the game, nothing happens. Which is to say it carries on as normal with no error messages, or any ENB-related messages. Just loads vanilla shaders and effects as though ENB wasn't there at all. All mod files listed below, regardless of load order as I do not use FOMM(which may have to change). Also using the large address aware fix. Does anyone know if the Broken Iron Sword Hilt has the requisite data in its mesh to be held by a player? Is there even any such requisite data beyond its being scaled and rotated correctly as well as originating at 0,0,0? Had a funny mod idea and I'd like to know this before I try to make it.
-
It usually uses: http://www.creationkit.com/DisablePlayerControls_-_Game So a true cutscene really isn't possible, just a scripted event in which the player can't do anything? Well crap.
-
Does the game have a means of displaying cutscenes, or are we just limited to more basic scripted events? If one can make a cutscene and activate it in-game, how would you go about it?
-
I see what you did there. In any case, I guess that was too much to hope for. I'll just have to get Arvak so that I can resummon him whenever he dies.

What would be the best graphic mods for this build?
asmcint replied to asmcint's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Because skyrim engine is badly optimized and heavily dependant on cpu for everything. With graphic and gameplay mods you may find not only your fps fall low, but also your game script latency going beyond recommended values. That being said avoid mods adding too many new meshes. You can try: Pure Waters + Waterfalls Tamriel Reloaded (without grass esp) And yes, you should upgrade your ram first. ... Now then, if you're done disparaging my CPU(which really isn't that much worse than some FX series chips), I have a question. Does Tamriel Reloaded provide better-looking spec maps to match the more detailed textures? You're going balistic for no reason. I suggest you re-read my post again. You asked why you should be worried about your cpu and I gave you the anwser and tip what to avoid. It's pretty easy to go overboard with mods no matter how good your cpu is. If you don't like hearing it, don't ask. I don't know why you are so worried about specular maps for enviroment, unless everything with spec map reflects too much light with lightning overhauls. The ones you should be worried about are normal maps (especially if you don't intend running parallax). I would say the best ones you can find on nexus are from amidianborn packs. Tamriel Reloaded is just very performance friendly and covers almost everything when it comes to landscape and building textures. More ram always comes handy. It certainly will prevent you running out of memory > CDTs, when you fancy yourself adding more quest, npc's and other gameplay and graphics changing mods. I'm wanting better spec maps specifically because the base game's reflections with regards to metal leave something to be desired in my opinion. In any case, I'm not planning to go overboard with mods, I just want a few little graphical touchups. Just like with non-immersive gameplay enhancements, going overboard with graphics mods tends to take away the charm of the game for me(at least it has in the YouTube videos I've seen, especially when people use ENB RealVision). -
This seems pretty cool, but will it fix the problem with horse physics where taking too steep an incline at too high a speed will cause the horse to just start falling and potentially kill itself? Because that one problem keeps me from being able to ride a horse for more than five minutes before it dies, and that really gets old.

Why are you worried about the CPU? Sure, it's not much compared to what I could get if I had $120 on-hand, but it's well within the recommended requirements for the game, which only call for a quad-core CPU, regardless of clock speed. Honestly, I'm just looking to get a little extra detail, some better spec mapping, and better-looking water. If there are any good mods that take care of that, just let me know, and once I get everything onto my new motherboard I'll try it out.
