I don't think realistic waters matters when it's installed, but I installed 2k textures EXCEPT for the landscapes, then TR, then 2k textures landscapes, then I installed the roads from TR over 2k textures roads lol Mostly because TR has some pretty nasty looking rock and dirt textures.

and as far as I know I have every AMB armor/weapon texture installed, other then that I don't use any other texture packs, except SFO. I do use my mod More Alien Skyrim for the night sky textures, that's about it. The less texture mods you have, the less chance you will get seems. I do still get some seems around some piles of snow that I can not manage to fix for anything, but other then that I'm pretty seem free.

What is SFO? I'm horrible with these abreviations haha

Skyrim Flora Overhaul xD I mainly use it for Expanded Diversity, simply makes the plant life in skyrim more diverse, pretty, and interesting.

Ahh alright I use that too. So here is my revamped list of mods in the order that I installed them:

    Ruins Clutter Improved

    Cinematic Fire Effects 2 HD

    Static Mesh Improvement Mod

Skyrim HD - 2K Textures - Skyrim HD v1_5 FULL - Landscape, Dungeons, Towns, Misc

    Skyrim HD - 2K Textures - Skyrim HD v1_6 FULL - Riften

Vivid Landscapes - Dungeons and Ruins with SMIM Compatibility patch

    Vivid Landscapes - Volcanic Area

    aMidianBorn Caves

aMidianBorn Landscape 1 - amidianborn landscape one -2k- Models and textures

    aMidianBorn Whiterun

    Detailed Rugs

    Skyrim Flora Overhaul

    Lush Trees and Grass

Natural Grass Texture Floor (Absolutely stunning visuals with no performance drop)

    TreesHD_Skyrim_Variation

    High Definition Ivy - 2K

    Realistic Water Two

    SkyFalls - Animated Distant Waterfalls

Vivid Landscapes - Rocking Stones and Mountains Parallax by Aron

Vivid Landscapes - Cliffs and Creeks

    Moss Rocks

Vivid Landscapes - Tundra Moss Revised

    Finer Dust

    Realistic Smoke and Embers

and then just some stuff like College of Winterhold Retexture, etc.

and then some gameplay and audio mods along with the Realvision ENB and RLO

    I'm now down to 93 mods :)

more =/= better. To be honest, the more mods you use for visuals, the worse it looks, the more conflicts you get, the more weirdness you get, and the more visual glitches you get. I can make the game look AMAZING visually with about 5 mods. ELFX, ULO, COT, 2k Textures/Tamriel Reloaded, and Realistic Water Two. (dynavision helps a lot too) These mods alone can make the game look stunning, and get 60FPS on ultra specs, and never hit that 3k ceiling(which always exists, even with mods that claim to remove it, or if you have some experimental NASA computer sitting in a walk in freezer. It's an engine limitation.) I only have an i5, (though my graphics card is pretty beast) which isn't near as strong as your computer, and I can get some pretty stunning screen shots with just the mods listed above.

But, that is only for visuals. I started with a load order of about 230 mods, I kept doing new installs, first dropping to about 170, then 120, now I run about 80 mods, and I find that each time it gets better. The more mods you have, the more problems you have, the more glitches you have, and the less fun you have.

Just my personal opinion though. ^_^

EDIT; to answer your question, I believe skyrim has a way of 'doubling' the memory usage. it is actually using say, 2.5MB, but it may say it's using 5MB, because skyrims has some very weird, wonky ways of doing memory. I know it reflects VRAM, so that any VRAM it uses also uses the same amount of RAM. the 3GB limit is NOT something that can be gotten around in any way shape or form, anything saying otherwise is either just getting wonky readings, getting it's readings just flat our wrong, or like I said, skyrim is just SAYING it's using double the memory it really is, or it's taking up double the memory it's using. I am not really sure what is happening, I can just assure you that you are not actually getting past the 3GB ceiling like it says. XD It's an engine limitation, it simply can't be done. The mod that 'fixes' it that has become populor here lately just fixes skyrims memory leek and dumping problems, which is REALLY great, but still doesn't get around that ceiling.

Ahhh alright well that makes sense. I agree that skyrim does still look great with very little mods! Basically what I did was installed the small texture mods first for stuff like weapons, sacks, carpets, etc. and then slowly added more to fill in the textures that were missing from the other mods to fill in the empty spaces. It worked out pretty well and I encountered very few problems while compiling them which have since been fixed. Your screenshots look awesome though and I do appreciate your reply! I'm a mod junkie so I will definitly be messing with the current list. As you can see a lot of the mods I have are gameplay and sound mods so they aren't all visual

I personally use AMB for my armor textures. I really do wish someone would put together an all-around texture mod that hits everything in the game, hat doesn't cause insane lag and CTDs. I think there is one, but as it replaces so much stuff with 4k texture (when I normally avoid anything over 1k) it makes it basically unusable. D= The only real gameplay mod I use is requiem, and mods that compliment it, like locational damage, and immersive creatures/weapons/armors. I find that having to many gameplay mods or armor/weapons mods is unbalancing, but I have to basically stop myself from exploiting my game, without even thinking about it I will make the most broken characters imaginable if I can! XD Sound mods are great, as well, I use a couple, the most subtle sounds can have a very strong effect on your game.

and modding skyrim can be funner then playing it! =3

I'm thinking about uninstalling all of my texture mods and just installing the ones that you llisted along with the RealVision ENB to see how that looks. I'm getting some stuttering now along with some wierd mod conflictions.. So all you are using for texutres are Tamriel Reloaded, 2k Textures, and Realistic Water 2? and in what order did you install them? Also are you using AmidianBorn Weapons AND Armor? I'm mixing and matching about 6 different weapon mods, Serious HD, 2k Textures, Sexy Villages and Towns, all Sexy Cities, along with a bunch of misc mods, 4k textures. I do really like my Pure Waters so I'm defintly going to stick with that. My favorite water mod yet!

EDIT: I was just looking at Realistic Waters Two and it looks pretty amazing. Might have to check it out especially since it was tested with an ENB. what is ULO?

One more thing: Do you use SMIM?

  5. Hey guys, so after playing TESO beta I decided to play through Skyrim again. I have modded the game before, but this time I wanted to go BIG. I have a decently high end computer: Dual 7950's @ a conservative OC of 1050/1550 along wtih an Intel Core i7 3770k delidded @ another conservative overclock of 4.2Ghz. Everything is on water. Two MCP655 pumps pushing distilled through the 7950's and one MCP655 for the CPU. Anyways, I am running a huge list of mods. Here is an image showing all of them. Hopefully its readable.

Anyways, my question is this. These 7950's have 3Gb of memory. I thought that when you have more than one card there is still a total of 3Gb of memory available and that it doesn't double with two cards, but MSI afterburner shows that my memory usage is between 4800Mb and 5200Mb. How is that possible? My fps is almost always capped right at 60 and I rarely get any lag.

Here are a couple pics that I took of the results of all the mods. I don't use an enb because I'm not a huge fan of them, but if someone would like to suggest one, I would be happy to try it out!

    Thanks for your time!

EDIT: HOLYYYY CRAP I just downloaded the ENB RealVision and I'm getting around 45fps, but the game is still very playable. LOOK AT THESE VISUALS!

  6. Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 3 still work at 80+ fps on ultra settings without the slightest stutter. This really sucks I've had nothing but problems with a few days of quality playing in between. Looks like its time for another re install.
  7. So I just tried re-installing Virtu MVP and that didn't work. Also, I have tried to deactivate all the plug-ins and that it still crashes right when it tried to start. I don't even get to the bethesda screen. FML I have had NO LUCK with modding.
  8. So everything has been working just fine and today I go to play and the game keeps crashing at start-up. Idk why its doing this the only thing I have changed on my computer is that I deleted Virtu MVP, but I was playing with it disabled anyways. I have't installed any new mods I''m so aggravated right now idk what to do to solve this and I really don't want to have to re-install. Here are my plug-ins could you guys take a look at them and if you don't see anything wrong could you give me some common reasons for this problem? I don't have SKSE installed and I have never installed any ENB mods. Thank you in advance I have had a horrible night and just wanted to play some Skyrim to get my mind off of it and I can't even do that.

  9. Hi guys. I am looking for the best town and cities retexture mods that are out there. I already have ones for whiterun, solitude, riften, and markarth. Could u reccomend mods for the ones I'm missing and include a link to the page please? It would be GREATLY appreciated!
  10. Hi guys, so I put together my new gaming build yesterday and everything runs awesome. Im getting at least 75fps without mods and around 60 with a bunch of them , but when I activate Realistic Lighting Overhaul the games crashes after the Bethesda splash screen. Can anyone tell me why? Does this require SKSE? oh yea also, I can't find the folder that the .exe file is in. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!! ~Josh
  11. Ok thanks a lot. You are definetly correct, I am looking into this way too deeply. I guess the best way for me to learn is to just do it hands-on. I really do appreciate all of your help and I'm sorry if I annoyed anyone by my ridiculously stupid questions haha. I have learned a lot and I think I will feel comfortable starting to mod for the first time. and LargeStyle, send me a message with a link to your mod when you are finished. I am excited to try it out and endorse it. I am going to microcenter to pick up the rest of the parts for my build on friday, so I'll be up and running by then. Thank you to everyone and I will definetly update and post some screenshots once I get up and running. Much appreciated -Josh
  12. Yea I have absolutely no idea how this whole BOSS thing works is someone could tell me how to use it that would be great. I think I have figured out the SKSE thing. I just extract it to the main directory and then use the SKyrim_loader.exe to start the game when I go to play. I have been searching and searching to find out how to use BOSS with no luck. I just want to know how to use it and how it works with NMM. http://code.google.com/p/better-oblivion-sorting-software/wiki/NewMembersGettingStarted I just read this and it makes no sense in my brain.
  13. Sorry for having 3 posts in a row with different questions. It would be really helpful if you could help answer them. Thanks guys, as always.

    So I'm reading http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Load_order_recommendations

    it says:

Oblivion.esm - this MUST be the first thing in the list.

All other .esm files All .esm files MUST be before any .esp files.

    Unofficial Oblivion Patch

    Shivering Isles.esp

    Unofficial Shivering Isles patch

    Weather/Environment/Sound Mods

    Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)

Note: any DLC patch should go directly after the DLC it changes, no matter where the DLC is located

Major Overhaul Mods (FCOM, OOO, MMM etc)

Any compatibility patches for the major overhaul mods

Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence

    DLC's (Pre-Completion)

Quests (these can be moved up after completion of the quest)

    Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists

Special handling mods - Streamline, Deadly Reflex etc.

Bashed patch (if bash is used)

I'm guessing this applies to Skyrim as well. So first would come Skyrim.esm Is that the main .exe file??

Next would be the unofficial Skyrim patch. Then would be Climates of Tamriel and all the mods that would go along with that, correct? Now does major overhaul mods mean things like 2k textures? What is an example of a compatibility patch for a major overhaul? Am I reading this right? You don't have to answer all of those questions, if you could just answer one you would help me be one step closer to answering all of these.

  14. Generally speaking SKSE is a small collection of files that you'll have to copy into Skyrims main directory, then when you launch Skyrim you'll have to use SKSEs SKSE loader executable file.

So I extract everything in the zip folder into the main directory? and do I launch Skyrim using the SKSE_loader.exe everytime I go to play the game?

  15. Back up your saves, grab Fraps and give it a go - you can't really know how well your system will handle it until you've tried, so download them all, activate and see what happens! If your FPS keels over, then optimise Skyrim (fiddle with SkyrimPrefs.ini, get performance improving mods like Skyrim Performance Plus and ATTK Power Loader - which requires SKSE, but then what doesn't) and start getting rid of the more performance-heavy mods until you're happy with Skyrim. With NMM and BOSS, playing with mods is relatively safe and migraine-free.

How do I install BOSS? I can't find any directions on it. If I just put it in the NMM folder would it install through that?

NVM: I seen that it had to be downloaded through google downloads and when I went to the page I seen the installer  Still wondering about SKSE install and load order
