  1. Skyrim LE 240 Plugins As title states, having an issue while trying to utilize Creation Kit for the first time. Installed through Steam, tried to boot there and via the .exe itself and every time it launches, opens up for a few seconds, and then immediately closes with no error message. Frankly I'm not sure what the problem is, and googling around didn't really help clarify anything. Would greatly appreciate any assistance on this matter
  2. I have literally no idea what you mean "transfer into other mods". It still sounds to me like you should be asking Artmoor, as this has nothing to do with Vortex. If I'm using LAL to start a new game using a path that's dependent on another mod, it doesn't work and (after a fade out/in to black) I end up just in the starting cell. It seems to be the "teleporting" and "new quest starting" parts that don't work, because if the "start" I choose gives/removes equipment, that part works. If I use another mod that does something very similar to LAL (teleports me and loads the start of another mod) but in a different context, it also fails (except that one leads to a CTD). And I was gonna make a post to the place you linked as soon as I figured out how to post my load order, however other people started asking me questions so I figured answering might lead to something
  3. I already understood this, I was just describing the past problem with the PRID values and how it first arose. I wasn't saying that I did it again or that I was going to disable more mods and expect the PRID values to remain the same. Was literally only re-iterating exactly what I did that caused the 2 problems I'm having to arise in hopes that it might shed light on the main problem. Also my question with regards to PRID values was more "how can I get the listed values in AreYouThere to match with the actual PRID values again" in the first place. I'm not writing them down or expecting them to be the same forever, I was just trying to find a method to get them to re-sync in-game even if they shift at some point. Not sure if that means I need to re-install AreYouThere or what. But even that's a minor issue. The main problem is the one w/ mods not being able to transfer into other mods. That's making it so I basically can't use Another Life.
  4. Nope, other than the "Incompatible Mod Archive" that pops up whenever I open the plugins menu, but apparently that doesn't matter at all and I can ignore it (or so I was told previously) What's confusing about this is that there wasn't any problem before I disabled the follower mods, and now for some reason there is one. I have no idea what prompted it. I was just inputting PRID values to look up characters, and then suddenly out of nowhere the PRID values that were listed in AreYouThere stopped matching up w/ the actual values, and the other problem w/ the mods like Another Life also started. I can't remember if it was directly after a failed PRID lookup or if it was right after I disabled a mod and reloaded.
  5. All mods I have should be for LE, same should be for the new ones I installed since this problem started This is obviously a mod conflict and has nothing to do with Vortex. Sounds like you need to make a patch. Any idea how I'd go about troubleshooting this or detecting which mods are causing the problem?
  6. Two issues I have with new games as well though are that: A. even though AreYouThere can summon the NPC if I choose the option to do so, the PRID numbers listed to the side in the AreYouThere menu aren't accurate, and I'd prefer to look them up with PRID (since I just want to target them, not always bring them to me). B. Even when I start a new game I'm still having the problem that when I use Another Life (mod A) to choose to start in another mod (mod B), it doesn't work. The screen fades to black then fades back in and I end up just in the same starting cell, but the statue is gone (as if I had taken the alternate start successfully). This also occurs with other mods that try to transfer me to a separate mod. It seems like my mods aren't linked to one another even though they're able to detect that one another are installed.
  7. Hardlink is set so we're all good there To give a complete list of what I did, I hit "purge" and waited for that to finish, then deleted the data folder from the game files I found by "browsing local files" on Steam, then I verified game files, then after Steam finished downloading I went back into Vortex and hit "Deploy". I didn't do anything to my plugins other than that, but it looks like they're all enabled anyways. Is there something I should be doing with plugins?
  8. Would, in theory, re-installing AreYouThere after removing it from vortex entirely make those listed values within AreYouThere match up with the actual PRID values again? Also purging/re-deploying didn't seem to solve the "mods not loading other mods" problem, unless I did it wrong again, but I feel like I didn't mess up the 2nd time. Basically every "Live Another Life" option I choose just ends with no transition and with me still in the cell
  9. I don't understand, I thought I did exactly as was instructed at least the 2nd time around, first time all I did differently was making the blank data folder. Purged mods, verified game files, then re-deployed mods. Didn't do anything more or less than that. Was there an instruction that was given that I missed? Does the issue of PRID values not matching up w/ those listed in AreYouThere not get fixed after a purge/re-deploy? Note I'm just using the PRID numbers listed WITHIN AreYouThere, which I thought would be based on what it actually reads in the other files. I'm not writing them down and referencing them from a notepad or anything Also how likely is it that the PRID issue is related to the "mods not loading other mods" issue, which frankly is the real problem
  10. NO, please stop overthinking it, and stop doing things that aren't required. The entire point of deleting the DATA folder and then having Steam verify your files, is to make Steam restore the Data folder. I have a feeling that you're being your own worst enemy in all of this, and instead of following instructions, you are adding steps and getting confused. I won't deny that I'm new to this, but I don't think making the blank data folder there caused the failure Just to be safe I re-did it just as instructed though: I purged, verified game files, waited for the data file to restore all by itself, then I re-deployed mods, and I'm still having the exact same problem as I listed in the OP. No idea where/how to proceed.
  11. So started a new game after doing what has been discussed so far and nothing seems to have been fixed. Still having the exact same problems. Not really sure how to proceed.
  12. That was close then LOL, glad I asked here before I did anything for deleting the game directory, is that just the Games/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data folder? Just delete that and then verify game files through steam, and then I can redeploy? Yes, just like that Should I create a new blank folder named "Data" after I do this? EDIT: Never mind I think I might have gotten it, tried to start up a new game n now I need to update SKSE I guess cuz some stuff like SKY UI wasn't loading? Not sure. Will have to come back to this later tonight.

  14. Tried checking the Knowledge Base and it didn't have anything for purge, but tried googling w/ that new term and I found this: If I do as this instructs will I be okay? Do I need to do something beforehand to ensure that my mods don't get removed permanently, or will they be back as soon as I hit DEPLOY again?
  15. So they'll still be listed within the Vortex "mods" folder, and I can just re-install them from there? Also is the correct procedure just to straight up delete the data folder? Will that mess up anything with Vortex that thinks those mods are still installed? PURGE the Mods First What does this mean, exactly? Just uninstalling everything in the Vortex menu? EDIT: Apologies for asking so many questions btw, I tried googling around and I can't find a guide on how to do this anywhere, maybe I'm just phrasing my searches wrong

  17. Totally new to that, any idea how I'd go about doing so without losing my mods? I have a few that I downloaded from places other than Nexus Mods. Do I just uninstall them from Vortex, but it's okay to keep them in the list (as uninstalled), or do I have to remove them entirely and start from scratch?
  18. Also I sorted my plugins and deployed a new game again and I'm still having the same problem
  19. The issue seems to be that the other mods aren't loading scripts from one another or something then, or like if I'm using mod A to start mod B it doesn't work, which frankly I'm not sure how to fix. This started at the same time as the PRID values started to not match up so I'm assuming something happened that caused both of these things and possibly when mod A is trying to load mod B, the script to do so has changed in some way so it can't find it...? Not too tech savvy but somethin funky is goin on. Does vortex not sort plugins automatically? Also sorry for making a dumb post I guess...? I didn't think removing random follower mods would screw my game up, I'm usually pretty careful about what I install so that nothing is majorly game changing.
  20. If I boot up LOOT and update my stuff will this fix it? I thought Vortex had LOOT built in now. Any idea why this remains broken even on a New Game? Just load order still not updating? EDIT: Also the first two digits aren't the problem as far as I can tell for the character PRID numbers, it was the last digit only that shifted +1 or down one letter alphabetically EDIT 2: Exact error message when I try to type in the PRID numbers that AreYouThere gives me (minus the numbers, which I'll use x's in place of) is: Invalid object reference 'xxxxxxxx' for parameter ObjectReferenceID. Compiled script not saved! Not entirely sure if this is related to the "Mod scripts that load other mods not working" or not.
  21. Vortex v.1.4.15 Skyrim LE 254 active mods, 224 enabled plugins Windows 10 x64 So I had a problem a few weeks ago where I had too many mods/plugins installed, so I've been trimming some mods, including follower mods I don't usually use. While checking which ones I wanted to uninstall, so using AreYouThere to see prids of various follower mods, I was using prid console commands to check which followers were which using a copy character appearance command that's included in GreenTea, IE I'd target them with the PRID command and copy the appearance to see who the follower was. I was uninstalling them in stages, but at some point after one of the sets of uninstalls suddenly my PRID commands were no longer working. Was getting a message similar to: "Invalid object reference 'xxxxxxxx' for parameter ObjectReferenceID. Compiled script not saved!" Wasn't sure entirely what to do, so just started using AreYouThere's manual "bring to me" option to finish this uninstalling process on my other unwanted followers. I then noticed two things: 1. All of my PRIDs had shifted down 1, for example if the PRID was 150AD453 or whatever, it'd become 150AD454. If it was 150AD45A, it'd become 150AD45B. I could still bring people with me with AreYouThere's menu option, and I could still target them without bringing them to me if I typed in "prid (their value)+1", but the original PRID numbers weren't working when I tried to use them in console commands. 2. At least some, if not all, of my Alternate Start mods are no longer working. I'll pick the start that I want and when I go to sleep in the bed to begin, no transition occurs and after the blackout my character is still in the same location, but the alternate start statue is gone. When I manually trigger some mods to begin, they work, but if it's a mod that then transitions me into another mod, then my game crashes when it attempts that transition. Essentially I think that the reference numbers for all of my stuff is skewed and I'm not sure how to revert it. Any advice or is my guess totally incorrect?
  22. It's working! Thanks a ton for the help! Unfortunately now I have a totally different issue where my game keeps crashing because I think I have too many mods affecting player appearance n they're messing me up whenever I have a fancy follower around, n almost every time I load a save they have the brown head bug. May end up posting about that if it continues, but going to just try to reduce the number of appearance mods for now assuming I can find out which ones I can get rid of without messing up my other addons.
  23. Ohhhh That's interesting. Thanks for that information. I'm assuming some of the mods I already have didn't have an ESP or ESM then, which is what allowed me to play up to this point? Guess I'll need to disable some mods and start a New Game. EDIT: Does the following Plugin Merger work with Vortex? Or is there another way to get around this plugin limit? Seeing conflicting information. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905?tab=description You can try it, I never got it to work, but maybe there are better tutorials out there. Now if it was Skyrim SE you were playing, you could just have Vortex Convert some of your ESPs to ESPfe, which wouldn't take up an ESP slot. That's how I have 386 mods installed for Skyrim Special Edition. But ESPfe and ESL weren't introduced in Skyrim LE, they came along for Skyrim SE That's a shame. I'm going to disable/uninstall some mods I don't like and I'll get back to you on if it's working or not. Appreciate the assistance so far!
