Fairly Consistent outdoor freezing...common causes?
BootsyFunk replied to BootsyFunk's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Oh sorry bout not answering your inquiry. It is commonly a "game freeze-have to reboot the game type" ,as in "Skyrim not responding". Occasionally I get "stuttering" in the worldspace. I don't tweak any ini. files, as I'm not comfortable doing that yet. I figure I can break the game without going there. I was speaking of more common tweaks like draw distances, anisotropic filtering, antialiasing etc. on my vid card. -
The BOSS is saying I need to clean my mods... O_o
BootsyFunk replied to Hionimi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Check out Gopher's vids/tutorials on U tube. They are an excellent resource guide in general. As I understand it, these "dirty edits" from Bethesda are common as they don't bother to "clean" them up nice. As I believe Gopher said, this isn't THAT big a deal if you are playing VANILLA Skyrim, but CAN be a big deal once you start adding mods. Hope I got that right. -

Thanks for your responses. I will learn how to use TES5Edit and see if this helps. My system is decent (ASUS Pro board, MSI GTX 460 Hawk card, 8 gb Ram, 1 gb Vram. However I shut down all ERSO as I thought it might be too much for my system, but it didn't seem to help. I should also mention I have been playing around with my nvidia card settings after reading "Skyrim tweeks" and similar articles. Is there a nvidia setting U might recommend?, or others use with good results? -

Fairly Consistent outdoor freezing...common causes?

Err ok will do....once I figure out how to do that. -
I'd appreciate if anyone could give me some well known causes of outdoor freezing. I'm getting it fairly regularly nowadays. Outdoors in towns or indoors seems to be relatively crash free. I'm running about 65 mods, level 45 for this character. I replayed an earlier save that did not have certain mods installed and had deactivated them, but the result was the same. I know I have some dirty edits according to BOSS. Anyway a "top list of things to check/change/" would be appreciated. This is my first modded game ever so I'm learning as I go.

I stupidly chose to install Adobe flash player which (I think ) altered some registration keys upon install. Steam updated shortly thereafter and now my skse loader will not run (freezes at logo) Skyrim won't load through at all as it says the app is already running. I uninstalled the Adobe flash player. Could this download have wiped out needed coding for skse to work? Why does Steam say this app is alrady running?, it does not show as running in task manager. HELP! Under processes it does show TESV.exe *32 IS running. Oh man what have I done?

My follower no longer responds to commands (dismmiss/follow) and is basically broken after running the Stag house mod. Being the dummy I am I did not keep a clean pre mod save. Tried lots of things none worked including disabling the mod, as it looks like the saves are corrupted. Any suggestions would be appreciated, otherwise it's a hard lesson learned and a new game I guess. Thx.

LE Bury the Dead - A Request to Further Develop an Abandoned Mod
BootsyFunk replied to VascoAH's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Agree! At least leave a headstone marking their passing. Always hated leaving a companion dead where they fell. -
First off just started using mods about 2 weeks ago for a new playthrough. My THX to all those who mod....your time and effort is appreciated! I mean really! So a few newb(ish) questions. 1. Wryebash...tricky to use?...do U use it? 2. My BOSS sort lists dirty edits, particularly on my update.esm. Is this a REAL issue? Should I clean? 3. Which leads me to this.. TES5...solves issues?...I need to know it? I read somwhere one must be careful not to wipe out needed stuff. 4. BOSS ordering...for me it is the da bomb as a newb...do U change the BOSS ordering? When? I'm running about 55 mods right now mostly rock solid....the odd CTD , but that's after MANY hours of play. I know it's not much for most, but the fact I got em and they all are working amazing. Now.. Skyrim vs. Oblivion I have OB bought disc (GOTY) and never played. Should I go back? Wlll I be disappointed? Textures...weapons...etc. NOW I feel I can mod OB with at least a modicum of success. Is it worth the trip? Thx all....

I am a TOTAL newb mod guy so I offer little but this. Your load order for mods differs a lot from mine with somewhat similar mods. (although U state that's not your load order?) So I'll say the obvious... Your computer can handle ALL yer mods?...check Readme's read for incompatibility, or needed patches?...check. Use BOSS for load order?...check. It worked ok...then it didn't...what changed if anything? Dragonborn dlc? New mod ? etc....check That's all I can offer, being a newb. Still sometimes the simple things in life are valid.

Just started a new game with mods for the first time. So far no CTD's but objects in the world fade in and out depending on distance. For example inside a tavern or hotel standing across the room I can clearly see the bartnder but the bar itself cannot be seen until I move a fair bit closer. Signs on the road and other objects also have this issue. They "pop in" when I get quite close, when they should always be visible (well within reason of course) Any help is appreciated. Update...solved. CLOSE.

Just got started modding like days ago. Anyway so far so good (mostly). I'd like to try the S.P.E.R.G mod but am unsure how to correctly install. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24445 The instructions "seem" basic (well probably) are to most with any experience, but to me they are not as I'm generally panicky about screwing something up. Anyway the general install info reads. Install SKSE and Skyrim -Community- Uncapper. Unzip everything into your Data directory. Copy the SKSE folder from the SPERG folder to your Data directory. This will overwrite the uncapper .ini in Data\SKSE\Plugins\. Alternately, you can edit your own uncapper file to give 0.5 perks per level. Activate Skyrim Perk Enhancements.esp and play! I have SKSE installed and running and will download SCU shortly. Basically this says I must do some "manual" editing to the SKSE file? The idea is you are using the uncapper to modify your perks progression from 1 to .5 per level so as not to overpower your character when using the mod., as opposed to just strictly lifting the level cap. Anyway I'm just not sure how to proceed from the wording in the instructions, as for one I've just used NMM to download and activate mods. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I see where you can download the separate modules under the files tab now. I installed Dungeons full the first time. I had planned on doing lite as stated so I am wondering if I should just leave it and go lite for the other 3, or disable/uninstall and download lite version? I plan on running maybe 10 or so mods so BOSS is a good idea? Make my own mods?....good god I consider it a minor miracle I installed SKSE and NMM and they work!...heheh

Just did a few mod downlands and miraculously after some false starts they actually seem to work! However I just downloaded the 2k textures mod and it does not appear in plug ins, but appears in the mod tab with a green check meaning it's active? Also I seem to have downloaded the 1.5 version when the page shows it is now 1.6. Why did this happen? Is it normal for a texture mod to NOT appear under plug ins? Also the mod page states it is offered in a "lite" version as well as "full". I figured I'd go lite as I have 1 VRAM . I never saw this option given. Am I missing an install step? Mod page states it's in modules, but I didn't see that for options. Any help for this would be appreciated.

I was reading another thread discussing the fact may people quit their characters and restarted many times for any number of reasons: boredom, improper build, missed quests etc. I'm wondering how others approach multiple playthroughs? I'm gonna assume most people would just do different specific builds with perhaps different mods? Personally I have never really gone for a "specific" build, particularly on a game as big as Skyrim which can be replayed many times. I grab a dice and roll for chance all my skills/perks. I find this exciting never knowing where my character is headed and and guarantees no 2 characters will be the same. As expected you tend to wind up with a balanced character that is capable in a number of areas, but is master of none usually. As I have heard some complain Skyrim is too easy, this might help. You will be forced to use what you have to get by. That can fun and can make you use skills etc. you might never bother with for one reason or another. Also I have had many "Oh man not THAT skill perk"....hey that kinda rocks!" Also "self imposed" rules. as in if "X" happens" I MUST do "Y" . Or perhaps I must ONLY carry x amount of health potions etc. I do this sometimes again to force myself to a style of play that might be interesting//challenging/ or not normally done just to add spice. Anyone else do similar things?
