  1. Hey there guys, I've played and modded Skyrim quite a bit over the years and ran into some really annoying problems over that time. However, this is the first time that I really seemed to have messed up my game. Each time i start up te game from the Skyrim Launcher I get to see the Bethesda Developer logo cinematic, and then the game crashes. This may be due to some conflict in the mods that i have installed. However, i've also noticed in the past that steam randomly shuts Skyrim down for updating. It may be that some steam configurations are messing with the game. My installed mods are all manually installed and my load-order is as follows: Unofficial skyrim patch.esp Dawnguard.esm Unofficial dawnguard patch.esp Dragonborn.esm Unofficial Dragonborn patch.esp Apachiihair.esm dD - Enhanced Blood main.esp TERAArmors.esm TheEyesOfBeauty.esp LustmordVampireArmor.esp Dread Huntress Armor.esp Babette.esp (vampire fix) Winter is coming esp's Cloaks of Skyrim esp's CrimsonTwilightArmor.esp EDIT: a couple of other mods i have installed do not show up in the load-order. These include UNP BASE Main body (+ censored patch), YY Anim Replacer - Mystic Knight, and HialgoBoost V2.3. My system is running on Windows 7 64x, I can give more info if needed. I recently reinstalled all the mods listed above, after downloading the latest versions of them. Therefore a mod being outdated should'nt be whats causing it. If anyone has had similar experiences and has found a fix, I'd love to know how. Additionally, before this issue arose i had an issue in the Bossfight against Miraak in the Dragonborn DLC. Miraak would turn invulnerable while trying to absorb one of the dragons souls. He just gets stuck in stead, and does'nt die in anyway. I was told that the Unofficial dragonborn patch would fix this, but it had no effect. In the end i just gave up on finishing Dragonborn and went back to the other parts of the game. Has anyone had this happen to them?
  2. thats an interesting suggestion dukesilver, might be worth a try. I hope that would fix it for me as well. Gonna try it, although it would be annoying if the vamps still attacked me after returning after several days...
  3. Bump! Also: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim) Here it says that after using "setplayerrace" commands some number of times, the game will for some reason reset the player's race to what it originally was at the start of the game. Might this be what has happened? because even tho I have all the abilities of a vampire, the game seems to not recognise me as one.
  4. Hey guys, so I've run into yet another bug that prevents me from playing through the vampire lord side of the dawnguard questline. I say yet another, because it's the third for me and I'm starting to get deeply disapointed in the DLC. I'd really appreciate any help I can get, cause this one has me kindof stumped. So I just finished the "beyond death" quest, where i ventured into the soul cairn to get the elderscroll of blood. I came all the way back to tamriel and to castle Volkihar, and now all the vampires attack me! Now I read a lot of threads where people had similar problems, however those were all right after being turned into a vampire lord by harkon. The bug is happening for me much later through the quest progression. In other cases of this happening, i read that it's due to the game giving you all the vampire's powers and traits, but not actually recognising you as a vampire. It seemed as though the problem was usually fixed by using the player.setrace <character race>racevampire command. This does not work for me QQ. Also, other then player.setrace i also used setplayerrace, dunno if thats significant or not. So a couple of reasons why this could happen: - bad code in my installation? - mod conflict? (i have the most recent version of "better vampires by brehanin" installed. However, this mod has been made compatible with dawnguard and i can't find anything on this being a known bug) - in order to fix earlier bugs to be able to progress through the quest line, I have been fooling around a lot in the console. I think at one point I actually used "player.setrace darkelfrace" to unvamp me, and then used the same command to turn me into a vampire again. Might this have triggered the volkihar vampire clan to become hostile to me again? I really dont want to actually test this, because my last save before using the command codes was before I started the "chasing echoes" quest (so it would take me several hours playing through the abandoned section of castle volkihar and the soul cairn, not to mention having to fix previous bugs i ran into again)? is this fixable by some kind of command line to make the vamps friendly again? Or by any other means? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. P.S. I also noticed that NONE of my saves post-dawnguard-vampire-ification have my race + vampire in the discription. They all say just dark elf, even in the saves where the vamps aren't hostile yet. P.P.S. something else which might be significant: I read that if you arent a vampire yet when entering the soul cairn, Serana will give you the option of getting vamped by her. I didnt get that, which seems to suggest (at least to my limited understanding of coding), that the game recognises me as a vampire already.
  5. Alright nice, i fixed it! Turns out that installing the vampire upgrade mod wasn't even needed to fix the bug. Just removing the outdated version of belua sanguinare already did the trick. Thanks a lot Raferu, Afoaa and Swiftflame for the help.
  6. Ah yes thanks Raferu, that link does work for me. So I should de-install any vampire related mods from before dawnguard (in my case thats the belua sanguinare mod) and then install the linked mod, right?
  7. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Swiftflame, i tried what you suggested, making a new character clean of vampirism and lycanthropy, and getting vamped by harkon again. I suffer from the exact same problem with this new character, so i have to assume from this that its not caused by a conflict with Lycanthropy. afoaa, i'd really like to try the mod that fixed the problem for you, but the link you posted doesnt seem to work for me. I just get sent to a "recent new mods" screen, rather then any one specifc mod. Could you check the link or tell me the exact name of the mod? I hope it works just as well for me as it did for you :).
  8. Heya guys, I recently installed the Dawnguard DLC on top of my skyrim. I chose to join the vampires in the dawnguard questline, and ever since ive noticed bugs with feeding. Firstly, when trying to feed on sleeping NPCs, the game gives me the menu for "feed" or "pick pocket". When selecting "feed", nothing happens and my vampirism level does not decrease. This seems to be a slightly different bug then already mentioned in this forum, because the choice to feed wasnt even available there. Even more annoyingly tho, my ability to feed on living NPCs (by use of the vampire seduction power) is bugged too. When using vampire seduction on an NPC, they become passive as intended. However, uppon using E on (activating) the NPC, in stead of getting the menu with the feed option I just cause the NPC to talk to me. At that point they tell me how cruel i am for using magic on them, and how they are gonna kill me when it wears off..... This bug is causing me to get stuck on the prophet quest, because that requires you to feed on someone while he is still alive. I've read some other troubleshooting threads where people had similar bugs. People there suggested that this might be due to the game not recognising the player as a vampire race. This could bebecause of excessive use of player.setrace commands. Its a possibility that this has caused the bug for me, but in load menu's the game does mention that I am a dark elf vampire (which is correct). Also, using the "player.setrace darkelfracevampire" line didnt fix the problem. Also, some bugs seem to occur because through a bug you are both vampire and werewolf at the same time. Although I was a werewolf before starting the dawnguard questline and changing into a vampire lord, I dont have any remaining magic effects or powers related to Lycanthropy left on me. So i doubt this is causing the bugs. Lastly, I did have the belua sanguinare vampire overhaul mod installed prior to getting dawnguard. This might have something to do with whats causing the bug, but it's worth noting that I hadn't actually used the vampirism potion included in the mod to turn into a belua sanguinare vampire. Might removing this mod or deactivating it help towards fixing this problem? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance
