You can use material in 3 software, unfortunately, for skyrim you have no choice to use textures. You can try to render you material to textures whit automatic uv. My mod Rose North is made of material, no photoshop, in 3dsmax I render my scene as meterials and it give me a diffuse map and a bump map, I export it in dds and voila!
Uv mapping is not so hard, it just take time to understand. For a Helmet, it could be a planar map, break the center edge in the back and detache your outside frome the inside. In 3dsmax uvw wrapper, just add relax and well done.
I hope some Blender users could help you, but the prosedure could be the same.

Veltos, yes it is, depending where you comme from. I am from Canada, you could understand?
Optional is the best way for translation mod, not only Nexus will save on space, It is also saving time on searching process for user.

I agree Korodic, but for me this post is like crying about porn mod, a never end story. Why translators created new files? I don't know, Why not a optional file? I don't know. I m just saying, somebody already complain about it.
The best option is an optional file, I agree here, there is no excuse, but calling things you don't like spam.... ( Sorry for the person who created a new file in russia for my mod, but I agree, it is annoying, but I don't call it spam!) :rolleyes:

Just load a male head in to your 3d program and scale this way. To make it 100% compatible, you may want to load every race head too.

Since Nexus let us translate mods, this is not spam! I upload 2 mods on nexus and I am french, both are in english, but why not a french and russia version? You guys racist? Ok, I agree for a fact, a different approach regarding translations could be more nice and less annoying, but common spamming?!

Wierd, You may have problem with 3dsmax installation or nif plugins, I don't see any option of this kind. By default you are supposed to have uv map imported.

It have something to do with Ck, exemple, if you use a torch as a sword, the fire effect stay, but no light anymore. But can't find it.

No, real light, like the torch. I have made lighthing wings, it glow in the dark, but it don't light your path like a torch.

It is possible to add light effect to an object, like armor, helmet etc.?

I am French and I am totally agree.... Well.....no. If you come to live in my country, speak french! By respecting people, translations could be a part of optional files. On the other hand, I got no problems with translators, they ask for permission, they give good credit and they release good job. Most of them are also tagged with picture flag, so they are easy so avoid.
In conclusion, not your business.

Message from IOLAND, in my mod bug report; Like this armor very much, but noticed a small bug in localization. Whiterun now is calling Blancherive. I know that's in French, but for me, it is annoying. Tried to fix it in CK, didn't work. Hope there will be fix soon.
I have Skyrim french version, my mod is english, is there a way to fix it without changing my Skyrim to english?

NitrishapeData; Change Num UV Sets to 4097. This is a problem I got myself, Num UV Sets set to 1 is wrong.

Import the body, skeleton included or import body and import skeleton.
Other problem, use skeleton.nif, not femaleskeleton.nif.

Skyrim armor are very simple, normal map is your best friend.

It depend wath EMB you have downloaded. Some like brazil sun contain performance options.
Emb cost in fps, mostly cause of ocular occlusion and depth of field.

They have to be 3 sides, but nevermind, 4 sided become 3 sided when export to nif. Leave it 4 sides, it is more easy to work with.

This a problem with polyedit modifier on export. Use meshedit.
