So, as the title suggests, I'm in the process of changing around some NPC hairs. Or rather, I'm trying to. First off, I'm using a mod which changes facial features and hairs of a handful NPCs (this one), there's 2 NPCs in there I'd like to change only the hairstyles of (and keeping the face changes made by the mod). I'm using the mod itself as the file I'm writing these changes on (as it is the last one in my LO to change the NPCs in question in any way). The hairs I'd like to assign to these NPCs are all from KS Hairdos. I'm using MO2 and every program is up-to-date. The only other mod I'm using that makes visual changes to NPCs is "Tempered Skin" for both sexes. So far I've tried: 1 - Opening the NPC in CK (using the mod as active file, loading KS as well), changing the Hairstyle in the HeadParts section, creating a new .nif from it in my overwrite. This results in a brown face and no changed hair. 2 - Doing the same as in my first try, afterwards converting the old .nif (from the mod) and the newly created one to LE, merging them with NifMerge and converting them back to the SE format. The merged .nif gets placed in the meshes folder from the mod, the overwrite directory gets wiped (in case the files might've conflicted). This results, again, in a brown face and no changes to the hairstyle. 3 - Completely ditching the CK, opening SSEdit, adding KS Hairdos as a master to the mod (I figured this might've been the problem in the first place), changing the hairstyles in the respective actors section in the mod within SSEdit alone. This results in no visible changes at all, no brown face but also no new hairstyle either. 4 - Same as 3, but afterwards opening the mod in CK, wanting to change the Hairstyle in HeadParts as well, realizing the right one is already written there, opening the game again and getting brown faces BUT the right hairsytle. I'm honestly at my wits end here, as anything I try seems to result in a brown face. Originally I thought it might have something to do with the mod, but after trying a character who doesn't get changed (Ancano) I still get the same results. I think I'm missing something vital here, but browsing various threads hasn't helped so far. I've read some thing about NifSkope, but since I ONLY want to change the hairstyles, I'm not sure if that's the right program to use. I assume NifMerge might've been the right idea, but it didn't give me any results (I was merging everything as the only difference was the hair). Any form of help would be hugely appreciated! Edit: Hallelujah, I did it! The trick was basically repeating Number 4 and creating a new HeadMesh with Ctrl + F4, BUT flagging KS Hairdos as an .esm beforehand. For some reason not a single tutorial mentions this step (probably because most people use Apachii and that already comes as an .esm), I found the solution in a random YouTube comment. I'll leave this post here, maybe it will help someone with a similar problem some day.

Issues warpaints and Creation Kit
Blaubeerchen27 replied to cyborgkatze's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You need to place the dds file you get when exporting a characters head via RaceMenu at the right place (if you make an esp, there should be a folder called "pluginname".esp in Data/textures/actors/character/facegen/facetint.) Besides, the CK doesn't necessarily show the warpaints in the editor, sometimes you need to boot up the game to see if they show up correctly. E.g., as soo as I open my follower mod in the CK and save again (without changing anything), the CK gives him a preset face, I need to change facetint and headmesh manually. -
Can someone help me with the load order?
Blaubeerchen27 replied to skoop4pro's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
How do I runt FNIS? By clicking on the exe that comes with it. It is located in your Data Folder (look at the mod page for further instructions). This will make sure that your game is capable of running custom animations, it can cause problems if not installed correctlly. Also, run LOOT, from your Load Order I can see that it will cause problems if not sorted right, plugins like RealisticWater usually are placed quite low etc.- 5 replies

can't get my face textures to work
Blaubeerchen27 replied to Chasellia's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Again, there is nothing called like that in your load order. All skin overhauls I know have an esp file, so either you haven't installed anything or this list doesn't show your texture mods. -

Blaubeerchen27 replied to Chasellia's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Which textures, exactly? I took a look at your mods but really couldn't see any. The only new visuals regarding character creation I could find are eye textures, brows and possibly new skin for men, if you installed the one that came with SOS. To me it looks like you haven't installed a skin overhaul yet. -
The condition is usually "GetInCell" and then the placeID. For example if you want your follower to say something in the Whiterun Jail you would have to chose "WhiteRunJail02" as a condition. From what I remember the list only provides interiors, just search for the name of the cell in the list. The lines of existing NPCs can be hidden in pretty much any Quest file, since you can make loads of dialogue witch just one file - the only condition has to be the right actor. Out of interest, how did you get your NPC to make a comment rather than starting a new conversation you want them to make a comment on something? My guess is the "greeting" option would have to be checked?

I mean, you do you, if your CK crashes I can only recommend installing the fan patches found on the Nexus. Though, if you want a Skyrim from 1000 years ago, in an MMO, that is pretty much what Elder Scrolls Online offers. You can explore Riften and the general southern part of Skyrim there and well, the rest of Tamriel too.

Indeed, all of this is possible. 1. Yes, you will need Racemenu (up to date), then you will find the option "Export head" under the sculpting tab. Your ENB has to be the newest version as well, otherwise your game will crash when clicking on the tab. 2. You will need Creation Kit, NifSkope, nifoptimizer and nifmerge. 3. Depends, if you want to use custom hair, brows etc. put them on the head you want to export, later relink them correctly via NifSkope. I strongly suggest watching this tutorial, it basically covers the whole appearance aspect for creating custom followers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcHw4sqrrx8 The important part not shown in this video (since it's LE), if you use SSE you will have to convert the head.nif file you export via CK through nifoptimizer at some point (when you use CTRL+F4, as shown in the video), but ONLY tick "head parts only" option. My personal experience is making my own NPC follower, but I'm pretty sure if you only want to change the head of Sophia the workflow remains mostly the same, though you should be able to ignore the part with the other body parts (torso etc.), you will probably be mostly focused on NifSkope and relinking files. Hope that helps, feel free to update us if you face any problems!

To be honest (apart from Baerthe being absolutely right with their statement), I don't quite understand what you plan on doing. Using Skyrim assets in Unity and building a level there just to port it back into Skyrim? Making your own MMO by using Assets from the store and Skyrim? The enigine Skyrim uses won't allow such a huge map (there are many limitations to what can be done when creating actual worldspace), not to mention that I respectfully doubt you alone will be able to fill all that space, let alone 18 times as much. Building game levels isn't like minecraft, you will have take so many things into consideration, especially if you wan't to create a level that is game-ready and playable. On top of that, if you want to make a mod for Skyrim out of it, you will have to build everything from scratch in CK, Unity has no place in the workflow. Making a MMO is the work of a lifetime, if you have good ideas start off by making simple things (Quests, NPCs...) in the CK, get a feeling for working there and test out what can be done. If you want to be part of a bigger Skyrim modding project you could contact the teams working on really big creations (Skyblivion, Enderal etc.), they might need someone. Either way, good luck!

Crashing with every add-on follower!
Blaubeerchen27 replied to XdoddoX's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Sounds like you are missing something crucial. Have you installed possible requirements this mod could have? Have you sorted your load order? Can you tell me what is load order? This sounds like you are relativeley new to modding - if that is the case, i can only recommend to start off by reading the guide that is pinned at the top of the forum posts: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2235394-beginners-guide-to-modding/ You should be able to get everything running then. Good luck! -
[LE] Creating dialogue without voices
Blaubeerchen27 replied to Blaubeerchen27's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Thank you for the in-depth answer, I have to apologize though, I already resolved this problem. I did all the things you listed but the problem was actually that I created a new esp file for the dialogue, instead of just using the follower.esp. That, and maybe the fact that I didn't record any lines, either one of these were at fault. But everything works now! -

Completely scrap everything enb related from your Skyrim folder, then re-install everything again step by step by re-downloading all necessary files. Do NOT install an ENB via mod manager, do it manually. When downloading the enb itself (should be version 0.381 I think) make sure to ONLY install the 2-3 necessary files the preset installation instruction tells you to use, usually wrapper version. I would even recommend trying another ENB first just to see if maybe the preset itself could be at fault. I can recommend Rudy ENB since I know for sure it works. I personally don't need to set AA and FXAA to 0 either, but that shouldn't be the problem. Tell me what result you get by following these steps.

[LE] Creating dialogue without voices

Skyrim crashes during Startup
Blaubeerchen27 replied to Blaubeerchen27's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I have mods, The game doesn't open or launch. I could re-download my skyrim, and redo my SKSE. It crashes even before the game launches, no opening of skyrim ever. it works only with specific mods, like the unofficial patch but not even SkyUI. Could it be an SKSE issue? If so, how would I successfully fix it? So you do have SKSE? If so, are all of your versions up-to-date? SKSE, the game, SkyUI? Make absolutely sure you have installed the SKSE for the right game version as well (SSE or LE), If thats the case, start the game launcher via the regular Steam shortcut (do not start the game itself), then verify your game files in Steam and then launch the game via the SKSE_loader located in your game folder. -
There's not really a solution to conflicting mods, especially if you say you have downloaded multiple mods for the same thing (animals, in this case). It is most likely they change the same records, you didn't necesarily screw up, it's just impossible to use them all at the same time.

Hello! I recently created a custom follower, who works without a problem in my game, but to add a bit of personalization I would like to give him some dialogue lines. After following some tutorials I had no trouble creating a few possible prompts, but now my main problem is that this dialogue isn't showing up at all and I think it might have to do something with my settings regarding voice. Here is the thing - I DON'T want any voiced dialogue, just plain old text. Somehow pretty much all tutorials I found make it a point to record their voice instead of showing how it's done with subtitles only. I do realize just ticking the "force subtitles" option won't be enough, but I really cannot fine any ressource telling me what exactly I should do. Apart from that, as already stated, the options for this dialogue do not appear when loading up the game (saved the esp, enabled it), so there might be a fundamental problem. The only condition I set for the answers were the actor (my custom follower). If someone might have a few tips, help would be very much appreciated!

It seems like the only thing not working for me is physics related. CBBE, CBP, XP32 and the RaceMenu sliders have all stopped working for me Yes, because they need to be updated as well. At the moment, if you download all the updates/new versions everything should work fine (I'm using most of the mods you listed as well).

Skyrim crashes during Startup
Blaubeerchen27 replied to Blaubeerchen27's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If you do not SKSE at all your problem must be related to something else - but I guess, your game doesn't crash before the logo but after it played? Do you have mods installed? -
Skyrim crashes during Startup
Blaubeerchen27 replied to Blaubeerchen27's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Look into your Data/SKSE folder and see which mods place a dll file there (for me, the problem was SimplyKnock.dll), they have to be updated to the newest SKSE version in order for the game to work when starting it via SKSE shortcut. Disable the mods with dll and enable them one by one, so you can test which one is creating the problem. I deleted the "Simply Knock" mod, game started without a problem. Edit: And by diable I mean the plugin itself, deleting the dll manually does nothing, since the plugin will recreate it immediately. What exactly do you mean, you couldn't find anything? If you don't use any mods which require SKSE it is most likely you are using an old SKSE version. Get the newest one from their website and you should be fine. -

Depending on when you last started the game, if you use SKSE it could be because the game got patched in the meantime and you need a newer version. But I doubt a new patch was released with the last few hours and I updated SKSE two days ago. Edit: Indeed, SKSE seems to be the culprit (the game works if started with the regular launcher), but since I didn't touch the files I have no idea how to solve this. Googling only shows that crashes BEFORE the Bethesda Logo are extremely rare in general. Edit2: Indeed, a faulty dll file in the SKSE folder was the culprit, probably since it wasn't updated to the newest version yet. I must've missed it when deactivating the newly installed mods, everything works fine again. -
Hello! I am facing a pretty strange problem right now - I have a perfectly stable modded game, today I decided to install a few more (nothing too heavy) and now, whenever I want to start the game it crashes to the desktop after a few seconds, even before the Bethesda Logo shows. Thinking it must have been one of the few new mods I unticked all the new plugins and made sure my mods were in a state I already had working, I sorted everything through LOOT (no errors etc.) and the problem still won't go away. I already re-installed Papyrus, no help. Verified game files too. I'm just really confused right now, everything worked fine a few hours ago.
