I'd rather play it safe and not have to mod the GOG version, plus I find steam more reliable and like I said, most mods are out of the box for steam is the word going around. :) So would I be better off?

If I just get the most recent steam GOTY build and play that instead of my GOG version will I avoid all the MOD issues all together since most modders use the steam version? It's on sale right now and would be a better time than any. Thanks.
