  1. I know this is old, but I was having a similar issue and found a fix. The game had worked a a year ago on Windows 7, but crashed immediately when I loaded it up in my most recent attempts to play. I uninstalled, re-installed in a new folder, changed permissions and compatibilities. Finally, I realized that my "Documents/My Games/ Oblivion" folder hadn't changed since the last time I played despite hardware and driver changes (and uninstalling). I deleted the entire folder and started up the Launcher which recreated that entire folder and ini upon video hardware detection. Worked.
  2. I put this on another thread, but just in case anyone needs it: "I fixed this in my game. I'm not sure if any specific thing fixed it or if it was the mix of everything I did. I got the glitch because I hadn't finished the helm quest for the jarl before going back to the companions. Vilkas said that he wanted revenge but the quest didn't start and he started eating instead. I went and finished the helm quest without killing a single person using god mode. I came back to the companions and using the console I clicked on Vilkas and used the "disable" and then "enable" commands. Nothing new happened for me, but this might fix Vilkas if he is "busy". I then used "setstage c05 0" while still inside the building with him and then talked to him. The quest started and he started following me as he should have. Everything looks to be fine. I hope this fixes the problem for some others. "
  3. I can confirm that with the "fix" that I just posted (at least in my game) you can complete the mission as intended and the next mission (the funeral) proceeds correctly from start to finish. I did noticed that when killing the werewolf hunters only 2 were required to complete the optional task of killing them all. This might be normal though.
