  1. While the scroll bar is present in the mods and plug in sections it is clunky to navigate on my laptop with a touch pad. If there were arrows to click on to advance the screen up and down it would be much smoother. It is not a big deal, but something that would make it even better IMO. Cheers to the good work!
  2. Thanks for the help. Would that be under properties/ local files ? It says 0MB disk use. I don't see a path to the game file within Steam. Sorry if this should be obvious. On my system, Steam has a tab called Local Files under Properties. First line on that tab gives disk usage: Mine says 13275 MB on disk J:. First selectable button on that panel is Browse Local Files. That will open a browser to the install directory. If all that is really gone for you, but you know where the install location is, you can try Move Install Folder to the correct location. Then do a Validate. If none of that works - I am afraid you will have to install it from Steam again. Maybe ask on a Skyrim SE forum. Thanks for the info mm200. I did an install from Steam. It searched for local files and found them. The process took about 10 minutes, after which the game runs normally, all of the mods are intact, and I am able to access the video and graphics settings from the startup splash screen. So that problem is solved. The question remains, what caused it to happen? You mentioned that it was not really a Vortex problem. It may well have been coincidental that it started at the time I installed Vortex, but I wasn't sure where to ask for help. I appreciate your willingness to help a stranger out. ( I am liking Vortex, although it would be better with scroll bars. ) Thanks again,.

  4. Follow up question: If I download and install Skyrim from Steam again, will I have to download and install all the mods again?
  5. Steam thinks Skyrim needs to be installed again. what? I always start with SKSE so normally this would not bother me. However my graphics card driver wasn't installed and I'm playing on low graphics settings. The Nvidia drivers are installed now, but I am unable to change the game to a higher setting without starting from Steam. At least I am not aware of how to change it. Any ideas on why this is happening? This is the second time Steam has lost track of my game install in the last month. Which happens to be how long I have been using Vortex. Any insight is appreciated. Any help is greatly appreciated. James
  6. Hi I am having the same issue. After clicking more the following is displayed. ….depends on dragonborn.esm and depends on dawnguard.esm these files are in the game folder, So I don't know how to get vortex and the mods to see them? Edit: So they needed to enabled under the plug-in tab. clicked enable and badda boom the game is up and running!
