Ok guys. Been modding the past couple days, looks like they took down the San Jose server and I haven't encountered the nexus.exe since. So I think it's completely fixed.

Also, when I could get rid of it (I hit power button then escape to cancel shutdown) and ran AVG, it did not catch the virus.

If you restart your computer it locks you in... It will give you a couple seconds before the popup comes up. You MUST remove your computer from the Internet because the hackers now have access to your PC. If you can catch it try and run a virus scan and get rid of it... From what I've been reading from people that work on PCs for a living... Most of the time it needs a reformat... Hopefully not though.

Hey guys, just started using the site today and was loving downloading a boatload of new mods... Unfortunately doing a manual download of the "killing children" mod I actually ended up downloading a nasty virus that completely disabled my computer with a fake message from the FBI saying I had pirated software and to pay them some money. After several hours of trying to get around it I finally had to completely format my hard drive using Ultimate Boot CD. Didn't lose too much, it's my gaming PC, and it was completely my fault (forgot I had antivirus disabled). Just want to spread the word and watch out for the NEXUS.exe because it's a beast!

Yeah I unfortunately succumbed to it (first time using site today) off a manual download. This thing is brutal! Scared the crap out of me too, thought it was legit until I saw they wanted money. Spent about 3 hours trying different things, nothing's working... So yeah watch out for that nexus.exe
