Cheb's Mercenaries at Valheim Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) is not too bad. we added this and his other one and they had to be added with the folder, not just the DLL file. If you have just the DLL file of your mod, or another NPC mod, i would try adding the folder you DL and unzip right to the plugin folder and not just the DLL.
