  1. Have you been to the cloud district?
  2. IF you actually wrote what I put down, then you'd probably know that I understand that there are ways to downgrade. But... It's not a sure thing that it will work for everyone right? Not saying it's the end of the world, but it's a perspective. Don't get too upset that it's a different perspective and experience from yours. It's just something that's happening
  3. Imagine this... You go home, you want to play Skyrim, and you see there is an update... Now you know Skyrim AE is coming out, but, you have no idea what update this is exactly, and perhaps you have no idea that Skyrim SE is getting updated, regardless of you purchasing AE. So you do that, then you find yourself in a position where you need to now figure out what to do... It's a bad situation, but there are videos out there you could watch, there are methods & workaround tutorials... So you watch those videos & read those tutorials - but with little, to no success. Uh oh... What's this? Now you cant play with your mods? Now all those hours you put in might be lost, all due to a little 3GB update (and that is tiny for game updates honestly). No chance to roll back your system to restore the files before the updated state of your Skyrim SE? You've done everything you needed to do, as far as following tutorials go? Oh alright then, say goodbye to your game, and the 10s to 100s to maybe even 1000s of hours of your character. I did get my game back and running, but it's deemed as "the end of Skyrim Modding" because of Bethesda's approach. It's disrespectful to the modding scene, and it's honestly something that was managed & released terribly. Should people be attacking developers & harassing modders? No... But just understand the perspective... It is a game, but when you put hours and hours into something, then it's your time, and the work that you put into it.
  4. 100% agreed, and I think if you find a mod to truly be worth it, and you "must" have it. I'd say approach the creator of that mod in a more professional manner - paying some of these creators is 100% worth it, without a doubt in my mind. It's the creation club I don't want to get behind, even though some of the modders have done some awesome stuff on there.
  5. Just a general thing that I will note. If you've gone through every tutorial you can find, and still have not had the success to get your game working. Then I'd advise doing a system back up on your device (only if you can afford to do so, and only if you have the required back up). This was the only way I could get Skyrim working again, and honestly, I'd say it was worth it (but then again, we're talking many, many hours put into modding & playing)... If you do decide to do this, then please make sure that you're disabling automatic updates on Steam, and have it set to 'Update when open' - after doing so, you will just need to make sure you NEVER run the game through Steam, and be sure to create a ZIP of the entire Skyrim SE folder in your Steam folder. This is just for extra caution, so you will have an additional back up of your original folder.
  6. While I agree, I was someone that was apart of that group of people. Sometimes it's not as simply as following some of the guides on how to revert. For me I had to actually resort to a system restore, then back my original files & then follow the steps to prevent the update... There will be people that wont be able to revert back, for some, this is really is going to destroy their game, and will have to quit after putting 10s to 100s and plausibly even 1000s of hours into their game. While I agree that modders shouldn't be harassed This approach that Bethesda took, is absolutely shocking.
  7. Just don't expect every mod developer to update their mod. It's a pretty shitty, and messy situation Bethesda has created, just to make that dollar.
  8. Yeah this might be the only appropriate route. I'll be waiting big time for SKSE to work with the latest version of Skyrim AE - then come back to the game... What a weird way to stop playing Skyrim... Updated it, and even if I try to change the .exe to the previous, it seems to have done it's damage... Dammit Todd...
  9. If someone was on the previous version of Skyrim SE, prior to the current update and was using the latest version of SKSE, would it work if I downloaded their back-up, and extract it into my forced updated Skyrim folder? Tried a lot, but even doing the whole 'downloading an older version of Skyrim SE' still didn't work for me.
  10. @righteousgoddoward - I'm fairly sure that is the update, correct. That is the update they were warning people about, but sadly, I only read or saw the warnings AFTER updating.
  11. Well okay, this wasn't something I knew too much about. I knew that they were going to do their whole "re releasing Skyrim" thing again, but something I must have missed, is that Skyrim SE is actually going to be updated. So as someone that's unfortunately already updated my Skyrim SE, is there a recommended route to revert to my previous version of Skyrim SE? The update just looked like it may have been a Creation Club update, so I thought nothing of it. The game itself loads into a black screen, so there isn't much I can do as far as "playing" the game goes. SKSE not working is problematic, and the time waiting for a compatible version of SKSE is going to be a while. That's two thumbs down there Todd - you should have made it completely optional, not a forced sneak attack. Now that it's already updated, now I'm in a pretty awkward position, and cannot play my modded Skyrim SE. And like many other people that don't have (or just purely had no idea the angle Bethesda was taking) the time to really look into all of this before it happens. A lot of us just want to play, and not have this hassle. One of the recommended things to do is to "back up Skyrim SE"... So! For those that have not had the great fun of doing so, and had already updated Skyrim SE - is there a way to revert to the previous version, before the update for Anniversary Edition (update 11/11/2021 - ie. worst, update, ever... Todd). It would be much appreciated if there is a resource I can download, or if there is a guide I can be directed to, to "fix" this update, and revert the to previous version before this update. Kind regards, A nerd
