  1. I'm roleplaying as a staunch Stormcloak supporter, a guy who wants to wear the Stormcloak cuirass all the time. The problem is, from a gameplay standpoint, Stormcloak armor is pretty crap. So I'm currently in the process of designing my own mod, which creates new versions of the Stormcloak Cuirass. I copy the Stormcloak Cuirass into new forms, so I can retain the appearance of the armor. However, these new armors have the same weight, value, and armor rating of elven, scaled, glass, and dragonscale armors respectively. So now, all I have to do is create new recipes at the tanning rack so I can swap out the base armors for their Stormcloak-skinned counterparts. But I can't figure out where the recipes are located in the creation kit. So where are they located? Also, how do I assign the armors so that they can be improved at the workbench using a moonstone, corundum ingot, glass ingot, and dragon scale respectively, just like their non-reskinned counterparts?
  2. I'm looking for Special Edition ports of the following mods from regular Skyrim: Bag of HoldingLocalized Thieves Guild Jobs (lets you choose which hold you run the job in)SkyComplete (automatically keeps track of everything if you're looking to 100% the game)Jaxons RenamerJaxons Auto-Looter
  3. I actually address that in the video in the OP. The short version is ... by having Skyrim and the Empire split up, the Thalmor are forced into a two-front war. For further details, please watch the video. Think about it this way: maybe I'm looking to get some watch minutes, but I'm also contributing to a legitimate lore discussion while doing so. It's not just blatant advertising of the video. I'm contributing something in exchange for the watch minutes. So the least you could do is read the entire OP - and that includes the video in the OP - as part of this discussion.
  4. So if Skyrim successfully cecedes from the Empire, and then goes to war, by itself, against the Thalmor, who would have the best chance of winning? Bear in mind, that this is not a discussion of which side is morally right. This is a purely objective test of who has the best chance of winning. My findings are that, while the Nords may have a few advantages, these advantages are ultimately moot. The Thalmor are practically so assured of their victory (provided they use their assets to their fullest potential). Here's a video documenting my findings: What do you guys think?
  5. Regular skyrim had a mod called "Localized Thieves Guild Jobs," which let me pick which hold I wanted to do the job in. This streamlined my unlocking of special jobs something fierce. But that mod does not appear to have been ported over to Special Edition. Is there an SE mod that does more-less the same thing?
  6. Obviously, in game mechanics, the guards arrest you and that's the end of that. But that could just be a game mechanic. In-lore, does Tamriel have a court system and rights of the accused? Believe it or not, I have found evidence both for and against the existance of a court system in droves! Here's a video documenting my findings: What do you guys think? Is there anything I might have missed?
  7. Nevermind. I figured it out. All I had to do was go into my "My Documents/My Games/Oblivion" folder, move the "saves" folder to somewhere else, delete the "Oblivion" folder, and then pull up the game again. One of the configuration files was wonky, so by deleting that config file, the game automatically created a new one with default settings. From there, simply return the saves folder to its rightful place and BOOM, and I'm back to playing. I've recorded next week's episodes for my channel now. But hey, thanks for trying.
  8. When I launch Oblivion, I can hear the title screen coming up, but i can only see the desktop. This happens regardless of whether I use the Oblivion Launcher, the OBSE Launcher, or OBMM to launch the game. If I press the Esc key, I can hear the music switch to the main Oblivion theme, so the game absolutely is responding to my input ... except that it's blind. The Oblivion logo appears on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop. However, right-clicking on it and selecting "close" doesn't cause the music to stop. The only way to make the music stop is to go into the task manager and select "end process." Going into the task manager, clicking on the "applications" tab, finding the Oblivion game, and bringing it to front doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas?
  9. Random Oblivion gates opening around Cyrodiil. But the planes of Oblivion they send you to are randomly determined. Is there a mod out there that lets me decide which of the 7 random worlds a specific gate leads to?
  10. My thoughts are that giant enfranchisement is not only possible, but totally plausible, and that there is actually a precedent in Elder Scrolls lore for even stranger things happening! Here is a video where I go in-depth into the topic: So what do you guys think? Plausible, or totally improbable?
  11. Glad the two of you found my arguments to be compelling. To both of you, please consider subscribing for more in-depth story analysis. I've already got three more videos like this one ... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpL3n7W6QqgDomKSQ62WbqAVr7U0wpel2 ... and I'm currently working on several more!
  12. My belief is that Saadia was innocent and the Alik'r are mere mercenaries. Here is the reason why I feel that way: And yes ... shameless plug is shameless. But then again, it's not against the rules to share a youtube video if it helps make a point in an otherwise legitimate discussion, and the rules don't seem to make an exception to this permission just because the person posting the video in the forum is the same guy that made the video in the first place. Besides, I'm not even monetized yet, so I'm not even getting paid for your views. Anyway, what do you guys think?
  13. I'd like to see a mod that changes the armorer skill to the smithing skill. In addition to repairing weapons and armor using repair hammers, we could also gain smithing experience by visiting a forge and putting weapons and armor together if we have the right materials. Ingots would be found in random loot across the game, and of course, blacksmith merchants would offer hundreds, if not thousands, of low-level ingots for sale. Ebony and daedric items would require level 100 of this new skill to make, and ebony ore would be uber rare. Iron, steel, fur, and leather would be available at all levels, and depending on your level of smithing skill (e.g. 25-50, 50-75, etc.), you would unlock the ability to craft more valuable weapons and armor. Of course, the old armorer system of repairing your gear would still be in effect as well. So this shouldn't conflict with any mods that target that vanilla system. As I look inside the construction set, I can see that each skill has two ways for it to be increased ... only armorer has one grinding option that is still left blank. So there is certainly an opening for someone who knows what they're doing to provide the code for armorer experience by using a forge. At that point, it's simply a matter of renaming the skill from "Armorer" to "smithing" and then re-writing the messages you get when you unlock a perk.
  14. Alchemy Advanced offers a variety of extra features for alchemy, but I don't want to download that because I'm currently doing a let's play of Oblivion where I only use mods that don't directly effect the gameplay. I do it that way so that my audience can follow my LP as a walkthrough without having to install the same mods as me. So the only mods I use are those that shortcut or streamline existing features. So I'm looking for an Alchemy mod that lets me brew potions in large batches ... and does absolutely nothing else!
  15. Currently, I can sell in batches, but only if the combined sale value of the batch is less than the merchant's gold. For example, selling a buttload of potions to Nilphas of the "Fighter's Stronghold" DLC is allowed, as long as the combined value of the stack of potions does not exceed 2,000 gold. However, if I brew literally thousands of potions, selling them off in batches of 50 at a time still takes forever. And if I'm selling off daedric weapons and armor, forget it! I have to sell these items one at a time ... one ... at ... a ... tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime! Is there a mod out there that allows me to sell stacks of potentially infinite items, as long as each item sold individually would be within the merchant's gold limits, and still get the same amount of gold as if I had sold each one individually?
  16. Ok, I just went and disabled every mod I had installed except the DLCs. I STILL have this problem! Even when I drain my heavy armor skill by 100 points, Vernardo still charges me 460 gold to train my heavy armor skill from 46 to 47! This is on a vanilla installation! So clearly, a mod I previously had but disabled didn't fully go away when I disabled the mod! So it seems that my only fix right now is to completely reinstall the game. So my question now is ... what folder has my save files, so I can back them up?
  17. Actually, this thread was moved to this board.
  18. I've only played a small amount of Morrowind, mostly focusing on the main quest and the fighters and mages guilds. However, from what little I've seen, if this is supposed to be the greatest Elder Scrolls game of all time, the story simply isn't sucking me in. Supposedly, the Great Houses are the most interesting factions. Tell me ... what exactly are the pros and cons of each? Maybe it's the fact that I've been spoiled by the moral ambiguity that is packed like sardines into Fallout 4, as well as the occasional moral ambiguity in Skyrim (like whether to side with Saadia or the Alik'r during "In My Time of Need"). But from what I've seen of Morrowind so far, the story just seems to be Capital B boring. There's hardly any real plot twists or moral ambiguity of any kind. Let me give you an example of the kind of boring storytelling I've seen in Morrowind. In the first city you enter - Seyda Neen - there's a dead tax collector on the outskirts of the village. If you find out who the killer is, you can go and confront him directly. And this guy ... freely admits to killing the dude! Like, the guy just straight up confesses to cold-blooded murder! Who does that?! He was PROUD of his horrible crime! The closest thing I got to a legitimately interesting twist in this story was just how easy the case was to solve! Or how about a quest in the Mages Guild, where someone has stolen some reports from another guildmate to try and sabotage her progress. So with no fuss or muss, she just outright tells you exactly where she hid these reports. She says that her enemy will never find them (even though they're literally right there in the guild hall), but she never considers the fact that you're actually hunting them down for her?! Why would she be so upfront with someone who wants to stop her attempts at sabotage?! Do the Great Houses offer any moral ambiguity ... or even so much as throwing me for a loop every once in a while?!
  19. I've got a playlist on youtube. This is actually my most successful series on my channel, so I don't want to neglect it. But I need ideas for content to make for it. Here is the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpL3n7W6QqgDomKSQ62WbqAVr7U0wpel2 I have gotten consistently good feedback for these analysis videos. Just check out some of the comments in those videos to see what I'm talking about! Heck, even here on the nexus, I've gotten praise for my analysis, like this praise from Nexus staff member WastelandAssassin: Source: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6761347-a-possible-explanation-for-fallouts-lack-of-plundering/&do=findComment&comment=61255022 This clearly has the potential to become something big, and to set me apart in the heavily bloated Youtube gaming community! Unfortunately, I need ideas for consistent content. So here are a few ideas I already have for topics I can make videos about. Please don't recommend them because I already have plans for them. During “In My Time of Need,” should we side with Saadia or the Alik'r? Why don't the people of Winterhold just rebuild after the Great Collapse? Are Oblivion's Thieves Guild the Good Guys Are WE (as in ... the human Elder Scrolls fans in the real world) the Elder Scrolls themselves Is Diamond City justified in its racism against Ghouls? Does Tamriel have a judicial system? Is Covenant's killing of synths really necessary to identify them? Thalmor vs. an Independent Skyrim - Who Would Win? (Not just who is morally justified, but who militarily has the best chances of victory) Why the Brotherhood of Steel are the best faction to end Fallout 4's main quest with. Why Nuka World is a bad DLC for Fallout 4. In "The Last of Us," did Joel do the right thing when he sabotaged the Fireflies' mission? However, if I keep this up once a week, I'm going to run out of ideas before too long! Does anyone else have any suggestions for topics of either Oblivion, Skyrim, or Fallout 4 that I could make videos about? There needs to be at least 15 minutes worth of stuff to talk about. Try to give me a single sentence … preferably a question, which I can then make a video answering. Maybe a morally complex character I could give a thorough analysis on. Any ideas?
  20. Also, if you want more story analysis right now, here's a playlist with two more videos already in it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpL3n7W6QqgDomKSQ62WbqAVr7U0wpel2

  23. Well, as i pointed out in the video, the point is that it's symbolism and imagery so the Institute can consider themselves justified. So it doesn't have to be coherent in-lore, just like the colors of the wardrobes in Beauty and the Beast.
  24. A common criticism about the worldbuilding in Fallout 3 and 4 is why 99% of the Commonwealth geography looks like it was right after the bombs fell. I think I may have an explanation for this. Here are my thoughts on the topic: And yes ... shameless plug is shameless. But then again, it's not against the rules to share a youtube video if it helps make a point in an otherwise legitimate discussion, and the rules don't seem to make an exception to this permission just because the person posting the video in the forum is the same guy that made the video in the first place.
