  1. So, I was playing Fallout: NV recently and then suddenly realized that my xp isn't going up, and I no longer got a "+... XP" notification whenever me or my companions killed something or if I discovered a location. Is this a common bug and how do I solve this? I am at level 22 btw.
  2. So today, I wanted to play New Vegas again after just abandoning the game early a few months back. The reason I left the game was because of this bug/script error: enemies act like they want to attack you (they start to do their attack animations), but they won't attack me. Also, I could see on my compass that the red blip, meaning enemy(s) nearby, changes to yellow, meaning friendlies, and back again, continuously. This means that they act as if I'm friendly. I could shoot them and they would do nothing. So, this is what I did: I uninstalled the game along with all data, and reinstalled it. I also deleted all my mods and saves, meaning that I was starting fresh. So, I then found a guide walking you through how to improve the game through mods at this site: https://vivanewvegas.github.io/index.html. After doing everything they recommended, I started a new game. I noticed everything was normal at first: the enemies were attacking again, but as soon as I got to Primm, that was when the bug started happening again: none of the escaped convicts wanted to fight me. Can anyone help me? I thought that if I reinstalled the game, the game files would be fresh, meaning no data from my previous game in them. Also, I did not f*#@ with xEdit before starting a new game. If I can't resolve this issue, the game would basically be broken and unplayable for me. So, someone help me pls.
  3. Okay, so yesterday, I decided to play Fallout: New Vegas because I haven't played it in a while. Before playing, I checked my mod manager to see what mods I had because I kinda forgot. Then, I went onto Nexus to see if I could download some more mods when I saw that a few of my current mod had updates. After replacing the updated mod files with my old files, I downloaded a few more helpful mods that some of my mods required and then ran the game through nvse. That is when I noticed that my cursor and the start menu didn't show up, accompanied by an error message saying, "Missing Masters". After seeing this, I did what any other person would have done: look up this problem on Google. That is when I saw that I needed fnvedit. After downloading it, I put the files in my game files by searching the game up on my start menu and clicking "Find file location". After I did that, I booted up fnvedit and I let it do its work. After it stopped scanning my game files for problems, I saw nothing wrong (apparently, there's supposed to be colors referencing problems with mods, which I never saw) and exited the program (I'll also like to note that I did a quickclean on falloutnv.esm using the other .exe file that came with the download, but I don't know if this is the source of the problem I'll tell you guys later on). I then attempted to boot up the game again, but still nothing changed. I then looked on google a bit more and found some problematic mods that I had loaded: Nevada Skies and Perks Every Level. After disabling these mods, my game began to work again, just not the way I intended. After the game loaded, I completed a quest in Novac, the one that allows you to make Boone a follower. After that, I decided to do a quest in Primm that's about finding a new Sheriff. This is when I first discovered the problem. When I fast-traveled there, I encountered some more Escaped Convicts, but something was different: there was no battle music and the convicts kept repeatedly turning from hostile to friendly. I could see that they want to attack me but couldn't. Something is holding these NPCs back. Hey, but at least they can attack Boone, so they're not completely disabled. I at first ignored this because I thought this was a one-time problem, but unfortunately I learned that every enemy acts like this. So, after completing the quest, I saved and quit the game and decided to disable every mod I have loaded that might cause this problem. But, unfortunately, none of the mods were the cause of the problem. I also cleaned up some plugins via quickclean and uninstalled and reinstalled the game (without deleting the save files). None of those helped. I'm honestly really confused with the whole mods and fnvedit stuff. I feel like I'm out of options. True, I can go through the game in this state, but it just isn't fun without the npcs attacking you. Can anyone with knowledge on mods and/or coding help me with my problem? Was it me cleaning the fnv .esm file the cause of the problem or not?
