  1. This is a typical "works on my machine" post like you see on many tech support websites. Just because it doesn't bother you, doesn't mean it doesn't bother tons of other people. And frankly there is zero logical reason of why the console should be disabled. Even if people want to cheat on THEIR OWN singleplayer survival game, why do you or bethesda care? If you're worried about achievements, why not do it like NV and just disable achievements for the session when the console is used? It's not like you couldn't just make a mod that auto-added every achievement to you anyway. If it's to try and prevent people from cheating, Cheat-Engine says hello. You won't stop cheaters from cheating by disabling the console. Even then, why do you care if they cheat? If it bothers you that much that other people cheat in their own singleplayer games then you seriously have some kind of issue and have no business talking about what other people do. I've used the console for many various things, from renaming my character to unstucking myself to editting ENBs and taking screenshots. Why should I not be able to do these things while also enjoying the added features (i.e. hunger/thirst/exhaustion, adrenaline, etc.) that the new survival mode brings? Why do we have to have a feature removed that has been in every single Bethesda FO/TES game, and that has been a big part of these games for many people? I generally support the things that Bethesda do. However, unlike some others, I don't white-knight them and can acknowledge that they aren't infallible and are in fact capable of making bad design choices. I use the console for screenshots, changing ENB settings as well as the occasional cheat when I run out of terminal hacks and dont feel like waiting for it to unlock  I get what you are saying and do not plan to opt into the beta. It is a beta, however, so hopefully Bethesda will see all of the rather negative feedback on the decision to disable the console, and not include it in the final release. As for why they would consider it in the first place? Cant say, but maybe they thought people would like it. There are, in fact, mods on several Nexus game pages specifically for disabling the console: Fallout 4- http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6526/? Fallout NV- http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58629/? Fallout 3- http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/17412/? Oblivion- http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/15791/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/19395/? Skyrim- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6859/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64051/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64571/? and this last one http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25496/? which does not disable the console, it charges you gold for adding items and charges Health, Magicka and Stamina for adding gold through console. edit-Although none of these have any significant number of downloads or endorsements
  2. In response to post #24621944. #24622864, #24623944, #24624154 are all replies on the same post. Yes! Even if they are not related, it could work. If even a few people with some free time just spammed the hell out of the Paid Mod uploads they could easily force Valve to substantially increase their payroll to review...their own requirements force them to vet every mod that is posted, and as long as the mods do not violate the Terms of Use, Valve has to add them to the site. If the paid mod page is full of dogshi+ then people will stop going and their profit flies away. What I would never encourage is for 1% of these posters to include the phrase "Elsa from the Disney Copyrighted Juggernaut that is Frozen" because I am sure that none of the over-worked exploited reviewers may be asleep at the switch and lets one of these through... god-forbid Valve makes a dime from the legal quagmire of Disney...because I am sure Disney would not come down on Valve like the Hammer of the recently Disney acquired character Thor and hammer them into the dirt. Really, don't do this...stop...why are you doing...whatever, I told you no, but you are all grown ups
  3. In response to post #24621944. #24622864 is also a reply to the same post. Thanks, and Kudos, for a reasoned response Anataron. It's funny...if the posters who spend so much time fueling the "hatestorm" as you called it, would simply open the CK and take an hour or two to create a 10 simple mods...such as changing Jarl Balgruff's name to Jarl Gruff-Balls, or Belethor the sleazy little merchant to "Valvthesda the sleazy little merchant"...there would be hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of crap mods that no one would ever pay for. Payroll and Benefits account for the majority of a corporations expenses. Force Valvthesda hire more employees to review mods that no one buys and their return on investment would vanish... then this would all go away. The way to hit them in their wallet is not just to avoid paying for their mods, it is equally important to force them to open their wallet for Payroll and Benefits to support this. Double the money, Double the fun, Doublemint, Doublemint, Doublemint Gum! Unless I have underestimated the stupidity of the marketplace in which case everyone who supported my foolish notion at least gets some cash.
  4. It's probably hard to anticipate Steam having the vanilla Skyrim on sale for $4.99 and Legendary for what is it, $13.99? I felt a little put out having to manually DL, which wouldn't have been a problem but I just got a new PC and was downloading a ton of stuff...even so it wasn't too bad. I feel for the members who don't have access to the premium servers. It's good to hear you guys are on it and want you to know I appreciate all the hard work(and expense) put in on upgrades :)
  5. In response to post #15782250. #15782635 is also a reply to the same post. I wasn't getting the pop-up either until I updated my NMM to the latest version, then the pop up came the first time I tried to download a mod.
  6. In response to post #15783290. #15784145 is also a reply to the same post. I'll try that, thanks! edit: It worked, now I get the cant endorse within 15 minutes of downloading, so I will come back and endorse later. Also, I updated my NMM and when I was re-downloading the file I did get the pop-up for endorsing other mods I've downloaded. Thx 2nd edit-Also I donated a premium for my bro while we were on the phone, it was super easy and his account updated right away. Thanks! I am not very skilled at modding so it's nice to have another way to contribute :)
  7. I have not seen the endorsement pop up yet, but I did recently come to the realization that I have been too stingy and or lazy with endorsing so I have been going in to rectify that oversight. While doing so I had the Animated Dragon Wings mod tell me I could not endorse because I had not downloaded the mod...which I have. I even uploaded an image to my profile of the mod in action. What would cause this? note-I have not yet updated my NMM to the latest version.
