I hate having to remember which ones do and don't. Has anyone done this before? Is it possible?

I really like Gaea. She's a badass. I want to keep her as a companion when I'm done with the Weapon Smugglers quest, but I don't want to download a mod that lets you recruit anyone, I want one just for her, but I haven't found one. Can someone help me out?

Is there a mod that makes dogmeat able to smell corpses like a cadaver dog? Or is it possible to make one?
