  1. Guys, honestly insulting each other, and making non constructive comments about the matter, wont change anything... Some of you might see modders as greedy just because they supported paied mods... but if you stop and think about it, who is really greedy in all of this? US! Yes us, the community (except for the modders, this appies to every sentence that uses the word "community" ), barely showing any appretiation for the modders work and yet complaining about what could be done better on certain mods, and even asking for more mods... And when modders see a true reward for their creation, what do we do? Take it from them and throw it into a bottomless pit... Are you realy that proud of urself, that u cant see what has been lost in all of this mess? Some modders are starting to quit modding, if this keeps up, its the end of this modding community! We are destroying the verry pillars that are keeping us together, if we keep it up, the roof will crumble on our heads... And yet here you are arguing about who's right and who's not... Arguing about nothing, while the fate of the community hangs in the balance... Shame on you all! Regardless of our oppinions on the paid mods, WE as the community we claim to be, should have supported and accepted the modders choice in this matter, and not try to make their choice our own... We do not have the right to do that, as they created this community... Yes! They created the community, by providing us with their mods, cuz we all know that without mods, there would be no community. So please, quit arguing already, and make some constructive appreciation to the modders out there. They surely need it, and im sure they'll appreciate it! EDIT: Fyi, Im not a modder, but i stand on their side for this! Note that when i say "we" i speak for those who keep on going about this matter and not all of us. So if i insulted any of you who did nothing wrong i appologize. Peace!

  3. In response to post #24837939. #24838554 is also a reply to the same post. So i guess that because i dont interact much with the "community" as you said, and cuz im not a modder myself, and because i download a mod wait 20 min endorse and bolt to playing skyrim, im a "leech"? Maybe im not a modder because i cant realy get the hang of it, or maybe because i simply dont have the time to be modding, has that occured to you? Or maybe i bolt to playing skyrim after downloading a mod, because thats the only time of the day i can actualy enjoy some gaming. Did you try to see things in this prespective? Or, i might not donate to modders because i dont have the means to, or maybe because my parents wont allow me to spend money on the internet... Did this occured to you? Or even, i might not interact much with the community because i might be antisocial, or even shy... Did any of this occured to you? i guess no, otherwise you wouldnt have posted this comment here. I did not insult any modder, neither stated my opinion about paied mods anywhere else, besides this post here. Fyi, I did agree with modders being rewarded for their work... If there's something i know about, is doing something you know you worked hard for and not get any recognition from it, it sucks badly, proly one of the worst feelings in the world. What i didnt agree was, that valve and bethesda were getting the majority of the cut, not to mention i read a post on reddit that bethesda thretened to sue a modder for trying to sell part of his mod some time ago, and now they join valve and come forward with the idea of selling mods? Like, what the f*** man?!... It's not fair, even less fair is that modders would only see any profit of their work if they'd sold more that 100$... Working hard for something and not getting anything just because people didnt paied more than 100$ for it? It is not fair for modders. Before you start adressing to the "community", you might want to rethink about what you are going to say first. You're randomly judgeing people for said interactions or files uploaded without even knowing them... What does that make you? Does that make you any better than those who raged on the modders? You're not a judge and even if you are, this isnt a court of law. Instead of being around throwing more wood to the fire, you should instead try to help those who raged on modders realize that modders are the very pillars of the community, If they decide to stop modding due to hate comments twords them the community dies. And if they decided to participate on the "Paied Mods" program, they had their own reasons, and best we, as a community, can do is support them on their decision, regardless of its outcome. Yes i posted it twice so that you can actualy read!

  5. In response to post #24829394. #24829699, #24830229, #24832299 are all replies on the same post. I do agree that the authors of the mods should be rewarded for their effort. And a "pat in the back" isn't real compensation, but i gotta admit, i would much rather have a pat in the back than no credit at all for my hard work and efforts (not saying that you dont appreciate the "pat in the back" you probably do, cuz it is always nice to get recognition for ur work). I guess that if i was in the shoes of a modder (even tho i'm not a modder myself) who was contacted by valve, i too would take the chance and risk it. As it's said "risk it to take the biscuit". But, I definitly don't agree that 75% of the cut was for valve and bethesda, as valve was only hosting mods, they weren't even worried about quality controll, as for bethesda, well you gotta admit they should have a % of it as they made the modding of the game possible and also made the game obviously, but definitly not more than 30%, since it's the modders creativity and work that made the mod itself, everything else are resources, provided by bethesda. And if you look at the business side of all this, when you get a job it's only natural that the company will provide you with the materials you need to get your job done. In any case, i think a position in one of the two companies as a worker would be a more fitting reward for your efforts, obviously a position as game developer and whatnot, not as the errand boy... that would undervalue your work and efforts even more. I personaly don't agree with people raging at modders because of all of this, it might cause some of these modders to quit modding, and thus rendering this community dead... The community has been broken down enough when valve tried to implement paied mods, and there's no need for any hate twards modders, as they are the pillars of this community, and that's what the ragers (<- not sure if thats a word, but i guess you get what i mean) fail to realize >.< Sorry for any typo, or grammar errors, as im not english >.<
  6. In response to post #24817769. ^ Probably the most sane person here in the community! I take my hat off to you miss! Very well said!
