Hub(ologists) are a parody of Scient(ologists)! Come on, L. Ron Hubbard, space ships, needing to remove "ghosts" from your brain... it's a pretty funny satire, just how Nuka Cola is a parody of Coca Cola / Disney (Notice how Cappy's voice sounds like Mickey Mouse). The hubologists are originally from Fallout 2, Where they were trying to build a rocket in san fransisco to leave earth, so it's not like bethesda was responsible for this satire. In fact it doesnt make much sense since they were small, eccentric cult on the other side of country, but somehow end up in maine 100+ years later? Bethesda just wanted to resurrect a good piece of lore versus writing anything good themselves. Edit: only 40 years later, but still.
