  1. It's so damn annoying that a mod I subscribed to in 2012 has ruined my save, and a simple sounds mod. I did say in my post it was the 'save game script cleaner' tool I used, and I did the advanced options 'remove scripts that have attached to nonexistent created forms' and 'remove a scripts having invalid variables' as they were the only options that actually did something, and from the looks of it they just deleted a bunch of audio files.
  2. Damn didn't get reply for some time so I stopped checking until now. Yeah I know the best is to start over, but I don't think I want to go through it all again, which is why I have desperately tried to save my current playthrough. As the mod 'realistic thunder sounds' caused the crash and is a broken mod that causes crashes for everyone during certain dragon shouts, no patch will help it. For now I've stopped playing. I consider starting over sometimes, as well as trying to see if I can continue my current save game without the mod, but for now the problem has made me give up on Skyrim, I've played the game a lot for my standards and I just don't like grinding the same stuff again and playing as a low lvl. Looking for my Morrowind disc to help me cope with the loss, it's been a while since I played that so hopefully that'll keep me occupied. :D
  3. I had to remove a mod that was causing chrashes whenever someone uses dragon shouts, the realistic thunder sound mod. I know it's a known issue, but I had the mod subscribed through Steam workshop from back in 2012. I have read that removing mods mid game is practically disastrous in in pretty much any case, but I've also read people who say they have done it without experiencing problems. However the risk of things being broken in the game that are not immediatly obvious concerns me, so I tried using the save game script cleaner. I practically have no idea what I'm doing though, I've already spent hours looking into the issue and can't really keep on using my time on this, so I just used the two advanced options, remove scripts that have attached to nonexistent created forms and remove a scripts having invalid variables, as those were the only ones who did anything and I'm practical going by trial and error. I think it might have removed some sounds, there was a bunch of draughr fx names on the list of things it removed, I'm not sure but I don't care about what it did but if it saves my playthrough I don't care about some missing sounds. Anyway was this the wrong way to go about it? I coud really use some advice here as to whether what I did has just made things worse or no difference at all, and advice on what to do in general? It's either save this playthrough or stop playing. It's play old oldrim with no DLC, only some texture mods, dynamic fire mod, the forgotten city, lightning during thunderstorms and roosters at dawn, but I don't think the other mods are relevant because it's simply the thunder sound mod that is broken, and removing that stopped the ctd. I can show what the clean removed if that is relevant as well. If any other information is needed do tell, I'm not very tech or software savy so I don't know what is relevant.
