  1. Appears to be fixed now, especially as HTTP requests are auto-redirecting to HTTPS by default, which will have eliminated the issue. Thanks!
  2. A better solution may simply be to add a passive redirect for all HTTP requests to automatically go to HTTPS without the user needing to do anything.
  3. When navigating to any mod on the Nexus and clicking a tab, instead of loading the expected content (ie the files to download), the letter E is all that appears. The only tab that works is the file's description, which is on page load only, as going back to the description after loading the page generates "E" there as well. As a result, you can't actually download anything from the site. I would upload a picture, but the uploader just keeps failing for no apparent reason (on both advanced and basic uploader forms). I assume someone else will be able to upload a file to this discussion to demonstrate the issue.
  4. I think this is an overall good move to reduce server load. Paid forum software, in particular, hates large boards, they always need persistent housekeeping when they get too big. You can see it reflected in the "page loaded" time at the bottom of the threads, which is reading 0.5 seconds, not 2.5+ seconds :D
  5. It just shows that, if a community of individuals who share a common goal get together in this way, great things can happen. And in this case, it resulted in Bethesda and Valve going back on their ideas of paid modding, keeping the status quo community. :)
  6. Update: I managed to stop the CTD's entirely by disabling the in-game settings of "Save on Travel" and "Save on Rest". Not really sure why this stopped the crashing, but I can fast travel without frustration, even to the Temple of Miraak.
  7. I'd just like to chime in to say that I also got the issue with NMM saying "couldn't reach the server", but I simply relogged in and it worked. The Seattle server definitely seems to be having a major problem as nobody can download from it and NMM constantly fails to download from it (it's been happening for at least the Christmas period)
  8. This happens if your save file has data relating to a mod that you have disabled (eg, you make a quicksave while having Climates of Tamriel installed, then you disable said mod in NMM and attempt to load the quicksave you just made). If the mod is not one that includes significant data (eg Falskaar), the warning can be ignored but it may cause corruption. It is best NOT to disable mods you have enabled unless you want to start a new character.
  9. Hi I'm currently experiencing a bug whereby approaching a certain perimeter around the Temple of Miraak (added in the Dragonborn DLC) causes an immediate CTD. Another Skyrim player that I know also experiences the exact same issue. I'm led to believe that it is because several modifications provided on the Nexus do NOT include a patch that makes the mod work on Solstheim, therefore causing crashes when going within a certain vicinity of the Temple of Miraak. These are the mods I'm using: * Climates of Tamriel (including Warm Interiors patch, Consistent Stars patch and Dragonborn patch) * The Cosmos Lite * Summer Solstheim HD * Unlimited Rings and Amulets * City Trees & Plants Lush * Unique Grasses * Whiterun Exterior * Jorrvaskr Map Marker * Enhanced Blood Textures * Realistic Lighting Overhaul (including Major City Interiors & Exteriors, Minor Cities & Town Interiors and Dungeons (the Dawnguard Interiors patch is installed but disabled) * Lore Based Loading Screens * Pure Waters * Cloaks of Skyrim * SKSE * SkyUI When I disable Climates of Tamriel (and associated patches), City Trees & Plants Lush, Whiterun Exterior, Jorrvaskr Map Marker and Realistic Lighting Overhaul (and assocated additional patch files), the crashing immediately ceases. I noticed that one of the mods I had installed (can't remember which one) included a patch for Dragonborn but it did NOT work whatsoever. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. PS. The other person I know who had this CTD issue also had a major bug with a mod called Immersive Patrols. When he attacked an Ash Spawn, the ENTIRE island of Solstheim went aggressive on him. That is definitely NOT supposed to happen. Mod makers should, imo, be providing separate patch files so that their mods will work properly on the island of Solstheim.
