  1. Hello I am trying to figure out if one can do create an Workshop item that creates an acoustic space around it. Problem is I have close to zero knowledge about the Creation Kit and fear that I mess something up. The idea I have right now is to take some prefab shack piece with roof and fill it with interior acoustic space, safe it and check if this works. Like load the game, use NAC X to load in a storm and see how it sounds. If yes. Then I would take something that I can use as a standard unit... a concrete foundation. Fill it up with interior acoustic space, remove collision, remove textures(make it invisible), keep snap points. and try it out. Is this possible? I don't even know how to edit a workshop item yet...
  2. Only if the "cover" is considered as a cover by the engine. Many glass roofs type elements are not considered as cover, or at least raindrops are bugging through the glass frequently. If I got something wrong please correct me. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/36127 Most of the stuff I use for construction is added by mods in any event..... I don't recall if rain comes thru my greenhouses or not. But then, I have "always clear weather" installed as well. I like the rain. Use it for sleeping. THe only thing that bugs me is that no one has made an Acoustic Space item for the workshop. When it rains the sound inside your settlement structure is like you are some hobo on an open field. But when you are inside the premade sacturary buildings, suddenly the sound gets transformed like you have a roof over your head.

  4. As far as I know you can stop the rain from entering but you can't stop the wet shader from being applied everywhere.(issue with the engine) I already asked for another part to make settlement buildings more comfy. And that is an item that changes the ambient sound to a interior one(like prebuilt structures, Sanctuary Hills, Sunshine Tidings,...). https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/9937153-acoustic-space-item-for-the-workshop/ https://www.loverslab.com/topic/167207-acoustic-space-item-for-the-workshop/ Right now I am watching various videos about the creation kit. The idea atm is to create a invisible box with no collisions that has an interior acoustic space in it and is a workshop item. Not sure if this is possible. And I have never even created a mod.
  5. I think the SOE mod has invisible and glass roofs that you can use to make sure the bed has a roof. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10075?tab=files Great to use with this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424 That being said, you are right. If someone makes some space sound like it is an interior it would make sense to make it one for settlers to notice.
  6. An an item that creates an Acoustic Space field around it. Would give the ability to change the "interior" ambient and weather sounds of a settlement structure to the interior sounds. The houses of Sanctuary have this feature. The acoustic space within these buildings is an interior one despite them being part of an exterior cell. I don't know if it is already an object within the creation kit. Might work like a light or sound source. Or it simply just creates a space of whatever shape(5x5x5 units,10x10x10 units, 20x20x20 units, ...). The item would be placed via the Workshop menu and would muffle the ambient weather sounds(original or mod--> NAC X). So when you are in your massive concrete, brick structure with comfy fire place and warm wood panels a storm would no longer make it sound like you are just on an open field.
  7. Same problem here. It looks like someone tried to copy Windows 10 design.
  8. Ok I the issue lies with small monitor screen peasants like me. On big screens it works as intended but on small ones the top bar is just a blue Nexus symbol(Skyrim SE colours in my case) which send you to the default Nexus page(not the Mods today page). So the top bar on small screens is wasted space. In order to search for mods I have to: -expand the side menu which takes half of the screen. -minimize -Click on Mods -Click on new Thankfully I don t need to minimize the side Menu again after the "new" page loaded. It is like someone tried to copy Windows 10 design.
  9. Nice to do try something new for a change. Is there an option to switch back within the personal settings, as long the new design is in beta. I don t see the benefit for me. I also Installed ad blocker.
  10. Ok after Steam AGAIN ruined my Skyrim SE installation I wanted to use my backup to undo the damage. Using my complete back method worked once before but now it won´t start an the process stays at roughly 230MB in the task manager. Contact Steam support to tell my how to undo the update, they wont tell me. I already expect the standart answers like uninstall mods and test what works(249 active plugins ...yeah sure...) or just install everything again... . Tried that doesnt work. So my question is how do I fix this. Which log tells me where it get stuck? How do I need to make complete backups today so that this does not happen again? Question for the future: If I buy, let s say Fallout 4, as a non steam version from amazon, will this let me be in charge of updates? I´m really pissed and I don´t trust steam anymore.
