  1. Ah yes, the dreaded vanilla black face bug. Had a fun row with that. First you have to check your data/textures/Actors/Character/FaceGenData/FaceTint/Skyrim.esm folder and data/meshes/actors/character/FaceGenData/FaceGeom That is where all of the vanilla edits are stored and they will overwrite whatever you are doing. You should also see a folder with your modname.esp. Rename the folder to Skyrim.esm1 (or something else so you have a back up. Now select your modname.esp folder and rename it, too. Load your mod into the CK and when it is finished select SAVE. Now select those vanilla NPC's by packs of 10-20 (depending on how sturdy your rig is) and select Ctrl+F4. When you are finished, looksee into your skyrim.esm folder and modname.esp folder in their mesh and texture locations. Voila! Fixes, fixes everywhere. If you are packing this mod for others to use, make sure you pull those files into the archive maker so they are for sure there. Happy modding  But you still get the error that the tint map and detail map are missing. Is that ok? And if so, why? Ok, I tried this with Interesting NPCs and fixed Felena only - even though her character gave me the tint map/detail map errors. (I copied the resulting DDS file back to the backup of the 3NPC.esp folders I made and renamed that backup folder back to 3NPC.esp. I decided not to do all the characters until I made sure it worked.) And it WORKED!!! Felena no longer has a black face. Thanks so much. This is the first time I have understood the instructions enough to do it...or maybe I just decided to sit down and try again and for whatever reason it made sense this time.
  2. I voted "nice and good" but that doesn't mean I like 95% of the follower mods. I want more like Inigo and Vilja. I don't particularly like a lot about Vilja but she has a lot going for her. There is nothing I dislike about Inigo. I like the two of them together. I like some of the ones from Interesting NPC's. We need more that have quests. Lots and lots of lines and are reactive of where you are and what you are doing.
  3. Hi, I have just started modding again after taking many years break and have started my first mod - changing my house in Solstheim. Everything is going fine except one part where I changed the architecture. I took out the room piece that had the enchanting and move all that stuff closer to the smithing equipment. I replaced the old room with a 4 door room piece and put some doors on. One I made a teleport to my Hearthfire Lake house basement. That works fine. Except, in my Solstheim house I can't see that wall piece framing the door or the door. It is the back wall of this new piece. I even removed the teleport door and arch and moved the old enchanting room piece back there. But I can't see that, until I cross the void and get there. It is like a 4 foot section of architecture is the void. It all works, but I can't see it. The void starts about where the old room back wall would have ended. Hopefully this all makes sense. I have spent many hours trying to figure this one out. Moving the arch and door into the room etc, swapping pieces etc. Does anyone know what is going on? Sorry if this is a common error. I have search with so many different terms and can't find anything so finally decided to post a new thread.
  4. No, that is not true. You can mod almost anything. City vs non-city is meaningless. What I think others have been saying is that maybe the modder made a whole new interior cell and then just changed the door teleport. Check the exterior door to your house and see where that teleports you to.
  5. Resolved how? I am having the same issue. ini file has entry but won't load multiple masters.
