  1. Amen. I too long for a vertical thompson foregrip. I noticed the same thing, but I have ZERO modeling / animating experience. A set of animation tools got released a while back though, so people have started doing weapon animations. Hopefully someone will feel like giving it a go.
  2. So now that animation tools have been released on LL, I'm wondering if anyone is able to finally make a classic vertical foregrip for the Submachinegun, or as it really is, the Thompson "Tommy Gun" Submachinegun. There are all these mods in the vanilla game for it, but none to add the classic vertical foregrip seen in gangster movies. Now that tools are available to make alternate weapon animations (on Loverslab) maybe someone could put it together? http://world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/smg/smg29/tommy_m1928.jpg
  3. Vertical foregrip. Seriously, the military version isn't the right fit for the "gangster" vibe going on with the Triggermen and the Neighbourhood Watch in Goodneighbour. Yeah, the animation would need to be changed, but I think it would be worth it. Gotta have that ol' M1928 look.
  4. Still holding out hope that someday, someone will make the classic wooden vertical foregrip for the Thompson/ Tommy Gun/ Submachinegun. It's just not the same holding it with a flat hand...
  5. Plus, for a 1928, it should have a vertical foregrip, not a horizontal one. The ol' vertical wooden foregrip is way more fitting with the gangster elements in game.
  6. Closest is the Fatman. Unlike in F:3/ NV, it has a 2 handed grip with the front being a vertical foregrip. Thing is, if someone adapted the animation, they'd have to scale the Thompson down so it could be held shouldered, instead of at the hip, as well as adapting the hold to fit actual firing and reloading. Then I guess you'd have the vertical foregrip, but instead of hipfire, it would be aimed with a vertical foregrip.
  7. Yeah, that's true: regular Thompsons ARE pretty underwhelming if Commando perks aren't maxed out. I guess I never really got stuck with one for too long, since I made it my mission to find Spray N Pray. I know, right? No one ever made one for the Tommy Gun in New Vegas either, and people made M4s with vert grips... Me, I don't know coding or 3d modelling. Not in my skillset, or I'd have tried to do it myself by now. I'd be more useful doing voicework for a mod rather than coding and design.
  8. Vertical foregrip. That's what it needs. For the old gangster aesthetic, you hold it with a vertical foregrip, not a flat hand. Flat hand with full-auto hipfire just looks wrong if we're talking Tommy gun. They held it loose, stared you down. Don't need to aim too carefully if you're gonna' send 50-100 rounds from ten feet away.
  9. Really holding out on that vertical foregrip...
  10. Never mind boosting the damage. If you get Spray n Pray and a couple ranks in Commando, you're set for damage. I can kill a deathclaw in less than 50 rounds, which is like 3 seconds of sustained fire with Spray n Pray. I'm not even threatened by deathclaws anymore What the Thompson/ submachinegun needs is the old M1928 vertical foregrip. It just doesn't feel the same holding the front with a flat hand for hipfire. You gotta' have the vert foregrip for true tommy gun action, just like all the old film noir scenes. The horizontal forestock is suck a tense position. With the veritcal foregrip, the hold was so much more casual, and cool, like "I don't even have to aim--that's how dead you are. So long, punk".
  11. Personally, I'm more concerned about getting a vertical foregrip. Magazines are much easier to mod in, whereas even in New Vegas, no one got a vertical foregrip mod for the 45 smg as far as I know. There was one guy who released a complete tommy gun with one before Honest Hearts came out, but even that one had clipping issues, and was in 10mm instead of .45. Hip-fire with a flat hand just looks off with a Thompson. I MUCH prefer the aesthetic of the vertical foregrip.
