  1. Thank you very much :) I moved closer to the Theta Beacon, and it appeared, so I'm glad to know my mods are working. However, I've found another problem, which is probably worse. About 1/4th of my map is missing, or perhaps a bit less. The bottom right side of the map (from Tepid Sewers, or at least where it should be, onwards) has completely disappeared. There are buildings in the area that are clearly not in their correct positions, and everything down south is nothing but flat land. How on earth do I fix this? I cannot enter (nor find) Tepid Sewers, and cannot enter Dukov's place as it no longer exists.
  2. I've recently decided to go back to Fallout 3, this time, I have the GOTY (Australia) Edition. Everything installed fine, I included some mods I felt were necessary, everything worked fine. I play through my game, not a problem in the sky, I can see all the perks I can learn up to level 30. But I soon realise, where are my radio signals that appear for the DLC? With the exception of the perks appearing on my list, no other DLC seems to be working. I disabled, then re-enabled Games for Windows Live using the mod found here. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1086 I moved all hidden files out, I have all esm and bsa files in my data folder. My merged patch works fine, I've used FO3MasterUpdate. And all mods have been checked. So why don't they work? I've included my load order, every mod here has been checked. I'd also like to once again note that my game works perfectly fine, except for the DLC, which simply hasn't appeared.
  3. For some reason, it doesn't seem to work in first person, especially when combined with the Ultimate 3rd Person mod. While both are installed, the third person works fine however the 1st person only works from the feet down. As in, the camera is centred in at my feet, and it can't be moved upward, but it can be moved downward. When Deadly Reflex isn't installed, it works fine. However, Deadly Reflex 5 worked fine with this mod, so why am I having trouble? Strangely, when DR6 is uninstalled, Robert's Male Body fails to work, however it works fine when it is installed. I'm hoping perhaps there's a way to fix all this. Also, Depth of Field has problems when I load a certain shader it asks for in OBMM. The moment Depth of Field loads in game, the screen turns to black, however the game continues as normal. So basically, the game works fine, I simply can't see (the HUD bars are fine though). Below is my mod list with all installed, and the very latest OBSE.
  4. I've heard somewhere (not sure where) that the GOTY editions of Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3 all have something wrong with them in terms of gameplay and mods. Before I buy any of these (already own Oblivion and expansions though), are there any issues I should know about? Or have I been mistaken? Would like to know before I make my choice.
  5. Sorry, but BUMP. I really need to get this problem fixed. EDIT: Problem is fixed! But I tried Point Outlook, and I have the same problem as I did when I didn't install the patch. When I save, I crash to desktop.
  6. Okay, I got the mod Tranquility Lane - Custom Race Workaround and it let me in and complete the quest. I think there is an item in my inventory that makes the game crash when it's removed, and I think it's a Live Iguana. Every time I sell that thing it crashes the game instantly. While the mod created a weird quest problem, it let me finish the quest, so I'm very thankful for it. Please not that I'm not using FOOK or a custom race. Please note that now that I'm out of Tranquility Lane, I've removed that mod and updated my merged patch, so my mods are the same as in the load order I've already put up. However, I have a new problem. I can't finish the Waters of Life quest. The quest itself works fine, however, when James asks me to open that valve in the tunnels (when the Enclave arrives) I can't save, and it crashes. I've tried getting through the quest itself by not saving the whole way through, and when I get to the point where I'm getting near the Citadel in the tunnels (there's a Nuka Cola Quantum nearby) it just crashes, so I can't actually complete the quest. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what the problem is, but I have one. I also haven't tested Point Lookout yet, which I probably should've done :S EDIT: Jericho is my companion in this place. I've gotten him to stay where he is and I've even fired him before entering that tunnel, and it hasn't changed anything.
  7. I have now installed the 1.7 patch (UK) and I updated my merged patch just in case, but I still can't enter Tranquility Lane.
  8. I've made a previous topic about the fact that I couldn't swim then save or just about do anything afterwards which currently, no one has helped for. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/258204-ctd-after-swimming/ Now it seems I have another problem, one that really does need fixing. Not only can I not go to Point Lookout without it crashing, but I can't enter Tranquility Lane either. I badly need to get these to work, especially the latter, can anyone help me with these? EDIT: I just read somewhere that I should use the v1.0.0.15 patch only. I have the 1.7 patch installed. I thought that would be better, but is this actually causing these problems? If so, how do I change it back? And of course, download the old patch, I don't think the official website has it anymore. EDIT 2: While I was going to Add/Remove programs, I relised that fallout 3 is in it's original version, it hasn't been updated at all. And I can't update it for some reason. It says that it can't find the original file. So why won't the patch install?
  9. I'm trying to swim across some radiated water in the wasteland to get to the Citadel. After swimming across, I attempt to save, and it CTD. I tried making my way to the Citadel to find it's location, and when I fast travel to it, I CTD. If I actually got close to the Citadel, I would pick up a radio signal, and it would immediately CTD. I even ran all the way to the Riverboat Crossing, but once I found the location, it again CTD. I at first thought it was the fact I was sprinting underwater using the Sprint Mod, but even without sprinting, I can't swim across. While yes I can take the bridge, this shouldn't be an issue in the first place, so I'd like to figure out what's wrong. I wouldn't worry about my computer's specs, they're fine, just know that it's dual-core. That being said, I constantly get CTDs in the wasteland and sometimes in other places, which really gets on my nerves, but I can sometimes get a full 2 hours in before it CTDs. I've just never had a problem saving before. Oh, and auto and quicksave are turned off. While I'm at it, I'd like to know why there's so much lag in VATS now that I've installed mods. While not an issue indoors, in the wasteland, I get severe lag using VATS, whether targetting or executing. Like my swimming issue, it doesn't matter if I've been playing for a long time or just loaded the game. That being said, even after 2 hours, the game runs very smoothly.
  10. I'm looking for any mod that will increase my frame rate. While it's not too bad indoors, it's a nightmare fighting outside in VATS, as it's extremely slow both in and out of it. My computer handled everything no problem before mods, but since adding them, it's slowed down a bit (nothing wrong with the mods themselves). I know Oblivion had an LOD generator mod which sped things up massively, so if there's any mod like it or otherwise, I'd like to know.
  11. I am not quite sure whether it does. I'm currently playing with my difficulty counter set on maximum, and I got myself the companion Zoe from Midas Magic Companions. Now, I have not given her any other items, she simply has her dress with no enchantments and a Silver Longsword. However, despite the difficulty being put on maximum, she still an incredible force for enemies to reckon with. Why is she doing so much damage with a simple sword? How is it that I die from a few hits but she can take a lot of them despite the fact she has no armour? I'm wondering whether the difficulty slider does anything to companions, and if not (or at least not the way I want), is there a mod that does?
  12. I've been trying to replicate one of my older character's faces for a while, and they always come up weird because I can't remember the character's specs. Is there a mod where you can take an existing character of an old save file, and make them the face of a new save file? I don't need any of the items, just the character's model itself. As in, level 1, back in the prison.
  13. I'd love to be able to play as Squall, I was wondering whether someone might be able to make a face for him. While I know the hair and outfit may be a bit too much to ask for (it'd be awesome though), it'd be great to have a face, just so I can play as him in game. http://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-01/art/ff8-squall6.jpg http://ffholy.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/squall.jpg http://www.finalfantasyunion.com/cprofiles/img/squall-leonhart.jpg http://webspace.webring.com/people/wg/goku_15goku_15/SquallLeonhart.jpg That last one has a perfect side view of him.
  14. Every time I uninstall and reinstall oblivion and whatever mods I have, it always takes a very long time. Yet it seems that the more mods I add, the less time I can spend playing the game before I get slowdown (many other mods have increased that time, thankfully, it's now at 2 hours instead of half an hour). I was told once to install them one at a time, now I'm a little unsure by this. Do you mean, install 1 mod, then install another, or install one mod, go into the game and save it, then get out and install another? Cause if it's the first one, I don't see any other way of installing, but if it's the second one, I don't know if anyone can have that amount of patience. Would this mean that for things like KOTN, that I should install KOTN, start the game, get out, then do Mage Tower, get in then out, then another expansion, etc. I really just want some clarification on this, I'd like Oblivion to run as smoothly as possible, as I intend on reinstalling Oblivion once my exams are finished.
  15. Never knew about Shady Sam, I'll go pay him a visit... 23: In the book Macabre Manifest (which is Agarmir's book, during the Unfriendly Competition quest), there is a deceased named 'Oford Gabings', which rearranged spells Frodo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings series. It goes on to talk about different items found on him, including an enchanted sword and a cursed ring with an inscription.
  16. Well like I said above, I own a Mac, so I have no tower. But there is a clear way for the air to escape, and just behind it is my window, which is normally left open. That being said, I just rang up Apple, and my computer is over a year old, so I'll have to take it to a store to remove whatever dust is in my computer, since I do not trust myself handling anything to do with hardware, after I messed up my friend's computer by trying to plug in a USB :S Don't ask what went wrong, we still to this day don't know. I still don't believe that my computer is overheating, but you are the expert here. However, while my mac is usually hot, my fans are turned way up when I head over to play this on Windows. I don't have problems with any other games (though less demanding they are, which are Trackmania and Jedi Academy), and after Oblivion CTDs, going back into it straight afterwards and it is back working nice and fast again (though I almost always give it time to rest, though I have tried that before and it does work). I have a question then bben, with that computer you fixed, how long did it play Oblivion for before it CTD? And once you cleaned it, how long did it do it afterwards? I would like a comparison.
  17. I know what you mean, though it's 'once in a blue moon', not great moon. Sorry, I just wanted an answer, since I would work on it as well, but not only am I busy as hell for the next year, but I don't have the first clue about modding or even looking at scripts (except scripts like in a story, which is what I'm working on for the next year). It would most likely use OBSE, since I figured it would probably be far easier to do it with it anyway, in fact, I didn't think if someone did do it, that they'd consider without it anyway. And I'm glad you said that it's definitely doable, so that's a good sign. As for the book, I really don't know the best way to go about it. Maybe a spell or an item which shows it if you activate it, like the hourglass thing for Deadly Reflex which resets the controls. I'm thinking of menu systems similar to that of Refscope. Either way, thanks for your input.
  18. Well, unless Oblivion XP keeps track of what you have killed with its XP, then that's most likely that it'll be from when you start playing. That doesn't matter, having it from when you start off is still better than not having it at all.
  19. As the title suggests, after playing the game for half an hour, the game will CTD. Why I don't know. Before I installed BOSS, this used to be 2 hours long before it would do that. Why again, I don't know. My computer doesn't overheat, my fans see to that, and my computer is fairly decent, though I believe the problem lies in the drivers I've put into Windows SP2 from my Mac, since there has always been a problem with my drivers. While I fixed most problems I used to have with Oblivion by fixing my drivers, it never truly got rid of them. My brother owned a mac less powerful than mine and could play Oblivion for hours on end, and the computer would be absolutely fine. For the drivers issue, I will soon be installing Windows 7, then putting Snow Leopard drivers onto it, so it should hopefully work. In the meantime, I would like someone to help me out, as I don't know whether the problem will carry on or not, and I believe it will. Before installing BOSS, I saved my load order, however, I then installed a massive amount of mods, THEN installed BOSS and played around with the ones it didn't recognise. Either way, I booted up the game, it worked like a charm, and since I had installed a new version of MMM, I waited normally for the cell reset. While the world works fine and I've found no extra bugs, it just acts very weird after half an hour, and CTDs soon after that. Hopefully, someone can find something wrong with these. I've attached my files for my load order before and after BOSS, with after BOSS including the mods I added afterwards, which I can point out which they are. 20. I read somewhere else on the forum that if you don't get a response in 24 hours, you ma bump your post, though that's probably for a specific forum. But yeah, it would be really interesting to have, and definitely not impossible to do, since like I said, vanilla Oblivion records how many in general you have killed anyway.
  21. Sorry for the double post, but I would like some sort of answer about it.
  22. I don't see why you couldn't just use Keychain. It hides the keys from sight, but if you want to look at them, just click on the keychain and they all appear. It doesn't break any scripts on any of the keys, and it makes your inventory less cluttered. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3409
  23. That sounds, really, really good. However, I don't have the first idea about making a mod, so I hope you find someone to make this idea.
  24. I'd love for a mod in which it records how many of such and such a creature have been killed by you or your companion. It would be very interesting for me to see just how many things I've killed, and which ones. It should probably use the Hex numbers (do I have that right) of the monsters to determine which monsters are which, therefore, you can have mod added creatures in there as well. All of this would be recorded into a book, a book which can be exported to a .txt file if someone wished it. I have some ideas to this. Firstly, different mods can recognise different things happening during the game. Using the normal Oblivion system, Oblivion XP can tell if you've read a certain book before or not. Refscope can tell you everything about a certain object or creature. The in game system keeps tally of number of creatures killed and number of people killed, and it keeps track of a hell of a lot more, even going specific with amount of jokes told. It would be great to have a way to find out which creatures we have killed, and how many of each. I'd love for this to be a mod.
  25. Grr, Rindir. I hate him and Rindir's staffs. He was one of the first NPCs I ever met upon first playing Oblivion, and he sounded so high and mighty, as if he hated me. So I killed him. Now, I hate him a lot, but I'm smart enough not to kill NPCs like that.
