  1. ironbender800, Most people likely have already read all of those links you posted, I know I did before I ever even made this topic. This topic as well as my guide would have never been posted, had the specific information we were looking for had been that easy to find. Considering you aren't able to see what was in the guide, you may not realize that there was more information covered in it than what those links you posted talked about, as well as the fact I was trying to make everything easily understandable & findable. In fact it was much more undertandable & straight to the point for specifically getting around the "Skyrim has failed to allocate memory" issue & issue of running as many mods as you want as that is what most people are looking for. For instance some people, of which I was one of them are using crash fixes & or ENB and still getting "Skyrim has failed to allocate memory" Some people use old ENBs, or have hundreds of mods, and they will see exactly what I'm talking about sooner or later. Which as far as I can see, is mentioned nowhere in those links you posted. But I found a way around it in my guide. There are a few different options you can try to get around this which my guide was trying to explain. As well as the fact that it was trying to explain that if you meet the correct system specifications, you can run as many mods as you want as long as the mods don't conflict with eachother. Some of the directions in some of these links you mentioned also sometimes aren't very clear, which will also cause people some headaches.
  2. So am I understanding correctly that; to both show people how to do themselves OR create a program & release it, that copies textures/models/sounds from one game that you own, to another game that you own, (example Fallout 4 in Skyrim) is not legal? To make it clear, there will be no claims of copyright ownership, nor transmitting copyrighted content to other parties, nor receiving monies with said examples. If so, is this the case worldwide or just in the UK(where this site is based)? Honestly if this is true, it's a terrible law that should be abolished in my opinion. I really don't care who might disagree. It makes no sense if you own both products and want to use them together in whichever way you see fit. I know that if it is indeed the law of the land where this website resides, that you don't intend to break said laws. However, I would encourage discussion on them.
  3. 1. I should have been allowed a chance to save a copy of the guide before it was deleted, as I was consistently updating the main page of it. Literally it was being deleted as I was updating it. 2. If that was why it was removed, why wasn't that reason given instead? 3. Where/what are the rules that state I needed to post my guide on the forums instead of the file section? 4. Why are there other text-only based guides & tutorials allowed for things in the file section, and mine is not? Just as an example of the other text-only based guides that I'm talking about: A Beginner's Guide To Modding Skyrim by SlavkaOfTheCouslands AKA Slavka13748 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73342/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D73342%26preview%3D&pUp=1 Beginners Mod Guide by Neuba http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69411/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D69411&pUp=1 The Amazing Guide to Gray Face Cures by Nojanath http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67581/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D67581&pUp=1 SKYRIM ENB GUIDE by Jenna Watson http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59253/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D59253%26preview%3D&pUp=1 SkyGuide - A Stable Skyrim by Vainlash aka Dante http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51404/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D51404&pUp=1
  4. If you want to see the guide you'll have to ask the Nexus Staff to allow the file to be shown again. They don't seem to think that anyone actually needs the guide, because apparently the information is widely documented somewhere. Therefore if anyone else comes across this post, feel free to post in the thread asking them to unhide it, considering it shows that people actually want this information, but just remember that if you want to actually see the guide, you'll also have to ask the staff to unhide it as well. It actually has information in it that works if you have Windows XP or Windows 7. I also have new information I can add to it as well, there's a few different options you can try depending on your system specs.
  5. "Your file was breaching our terms of use and has been removed by micalov" "A member of our staff has removed your Allocate Memory Run As Many Mods As Your PC Can Handle Tutorial file for the following reason: misuse of file entry, gvigin two steps on something that is widely documented is not a file." I spent 9 hours total searching for this information & not finding it/getting it working myself/ as well as writing the guide for other users and the Nexus staff removed it, so thank them for their efforts. Also the information isn't widely documented, so I'm probably one of the few who was trying to tell people how to do fix this/do this.
  6. Sure, I'd love to help. I'm writing a guide and putting it up on the Nexus! You can find it here! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75950/?
  7. Edit: nevermind, I fixed it & also found a workaround, took many hours though! See the fix here! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75950/? EDIT 2: I spent 9 hours total searching for this information & not finding it/getting it working myself/ as well as writing the guide for other users(which WORKED by the way) and the Nexus staff removed it, so thank them for their efforts. "Your file was breaching our terms of use and has been removed by micalov" "A member of our staff has removed your Allocate Memory Run As Many Mods As Your PC Can Handle Tutorial file for the following reason: misuse of file entry, gvigin two steps on something that is widely documented is not a file." EDIT 3: Most people likely have already read most of the other guides & tried crash fixes & enbs mentioned in them, I know I did before I ever even made this topic. This topic as well as my guide would have never been posted, had it been that easy to find. Considering you aren't able to see what was in the guide anymore since it was deleted by the Nexus staff, you may not realize that there was more information covered in it than what most other guides etc talk about, as well as the fact I was trying to make everything easily understandable & findable. Which as far as I can see, is mentioned nowhere in any of the current guides. But I found a way around it in my guide. As well as the fact that it was trying to explain that if you meet the correct system specifications, you can run as many mods as you want as long as the mods don't conflict with eachother. And that my guide will help those who have Windows 7 or XP, and 32 & 64 bit editions, with more options for those with 64 bit.
  8. Out of all of the replies of opposition in this thread I like yours the most, because you have given a very well detailed response with a willingness to discuss the topic & with a good explanation. I did not know about the past history of the rating/review system here, however, I do think a more intricate system could be created than what you detailed. I'm not surprised at the behavior of people doing such things you mentioned, but I think there are still ways to handle it. My first rough draft idea: You can only post a review if you have downloaded the mod, and an entire week has to pass first. I think a week would help prevent spam, as most ignorant people likely wouldn't stay focused that long. But that wouldn't be all, you will need to have a minimum character limit typed out, I'd say maybe 2,000 characters or so. And you would need to select options from drop down boxes for different questions & categories. For instance one of the drop down menu questions is, did you experience any bugs while using this mod yes or no, if yes please try to explain in detail. The more effort required, the more it will deter abusers. And you can deter mod author abuse as well simply by not letting people search for mods based on reviews. They have to visit a particular mods page to see what people think about it. Also because some mod authors are opposed to bad reviews, allow mod authors to reply to reviews that people leave, individually, but they won't have the ability to remove or edit people's reviews.
  9. Edit: Nevermind, just didn't understand why new features can't be added after the redesign in the future.
  10. The abuse was widespread and the staff have better things to do, the lesson that's been learned over the years is that if you give people a system that can abused then they'll abuse it, hence the system the site has today. As for a reviews I suggest you release a few mods onto the larger sites and see what modders already have to put up with, you'll soon change your mind. If the staff can't handle it why can't they just hire volunteers to oversee the review section? You don't get it, I don't use other websites, because I like this one better, otherwise I wouldn't even be posting here. I don't care what goes on, on other websites. I have the opportunity to try and make this one better, and that is what I'm trying to do right now even by posting this.
  11. All I see in this thread is a clique like attitude, where people are trying not to step on eachother's toes because they are afraid someone's feeling will be hurt by having mod reviews. Well guess what, now my feelings are hurt now because you aren't allowing reviews, does anyone care? Of course a lot of modders may be afraid of the idea of forced reviews because it simply means they are afraid of criticism of this form of art called modding. To those making a critique that this isn't a store where reviews are needed, I have to say if modders aren't making money or getting anything from modding, why do they even care what people think about their mods? I never thought I'd have to try to make the case that reviews definitely ARE needed for modding communities, not just for this one but for all of them. Not all modders are professionals which means there's many cases where mods could ruin your game, or perhaps the quality of said mod just isn't to great. There are THOUSANDS of mods for many games, many made by unprofessionals, and many which are in depth. This means it can take countless hours and toil to determine if a mod is worth using or not in a game and with a streamlined review process, that could help many mod users. I also have to say that basing your decision on other communities is a totally bad idea when we have the opportunity to form a better community on this website. It DOESN'T have to turn into troll Steam reviews. I was just about to make a topic for this suggestion already and then I found this one. I really would love to have a reviews tab located on every mod, where every user that has been verified to have downloaded a mod can post a review after 24 hours have passed. The reviews will only be moderated by Nexus staff and not the mod authors(You can guess why that would be(If you couldn't guess it's because mod authors will remove negative reviews of their mods). For anyone that doesn't want reviews, guess what you already have them if you have a comments, forums section or video section enabled on your mods. All I'm asking for is a simplified more stream lined process. Here are the reasons I'd like a reviews section; It will help me find better mods much easier & faster. I know there are some people that will disagree that it wouldn't because someone might post something negative, but I'd request that you don't insult my intelligence, as I'm smart enough to take into account everyone's opinions and not just someone that says it broke or crashed their game etc.It will decrease review spam in mod comments section and forums and let the mod author & users focus on more important discussions.I'd have more incentive to donate to this website if it were implemented, because then I'd know it's being taken more seriously, the fact that there are thousands of mods to look through which would take forever, what good are categories and endorsements by themselves? And I don't want to watch hours of videos by youtube reviewers for every single mod just to try to decide if I want to use it or not or sift through tons of comments unrelated to a review in a mod's comments section, in fact some mods don't even have a review text or otherwise, and many of the video reviews have been removed. If you have created a good mod you won't have to worry what people's reviews & opinions of it are, a review system will balance itself out, and encourage modders to improve their mods rather than tell mod users to get lost, do it themselves, they don't want to hear your critique or suggestions, lock their comments sections, or take a hiatus for 4 years. I have to disagree with you. As for myself when I get to test a mod and enjoy it, I try to endorse and review it, it just can take a while with so many mods, and a large game to even reach the content a mod adds to test it out. There was a rating system once and it was abused. If people are abusing things, they should be banned/warned about it, the whole community shouldn't have to suffer because of a few people. Just because it isn't a review website, doesn't mean it can't have reviews. No one is saying you will be promoting mods based on an arbitrary standard, I mean you can implement reviews tab and prevent people from filtering from best to worst reviews if you are so worried about it. "The Number One Rule on the Nexus is: "Don't like it? Don't use it, but pass in silence." Why is this even a rule? I don't understand it.. I mean honestly if there were only like 100 mods on this website I wouldn't care, but there are so many that not having reviews is really detrimental for me, and I can only assume some others as well like the original poster. How about instead of saying no because of the what ifs(I still don't see why the what ifs even matter since modding is a hobby), we focus on ideas that could help make a review system better? I'll start by adding another idea, require a certain amount of characters that you must reach when typing your review to prevent short reviews, and also prevent curse words and spam(there are systems to prevent such things.) Also can be drop down menus with questionnaires that users can fill out to help review the mod. Anyway I already knew before I posted this that all the premies(premium members) and staff will disagree with anything I have to say on this subject, simply because the tone has already been set, but I'm tired of people's voices not being heard because of a clique-like mentality, and that goes for any place and any website, not just this one. So this is to show people like the original poster, that there are people who do agree with you and are on your side.
  12. How is it not legal if the mod creator isn't uploading the objects nor are they claiming ownership or creatorship of them?, they are simply creating the mod to help place the objects from your copy of said game into Fallout 4? As I said in the suggestion, you'd need to own a copy of said game on your PC. If it weren't legal then mods like Garry's Mod, OpenMW, skywind/skyoblivion etc wouldn't be around.
  13. Hi, I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but I'd love to be able to build houses & objects from other games in Fallout 4 if we have them installed on our PC, for instance things from Alien: Isolation, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Bioshock games, or Oblivion. I know its possible to do because there are mods like morroblivion/skyoblivion/skywind, and I don't really mind if certain objects wouldn't fit the lore etc, as I'm simply requesting this because it would be a lot of fun. Thanks for reading & considering!
  14. Hello everyone, I'd like to make a request/suggestion that has probably already been thought of, but so far I have not yet seen created. I know it's something that many of us would enjoy if it works properly. I'm tired of waiting 5 minutes at a loading screen to enter for example, a small room I can barely even move around in, not only that but it ruins my fun/immersion to be teleported to a separate worldspace, therefore I have a request: I'd like for all separate interior worldspaces to be moved into the exterior world, so you can enter them freely and without loading screens as well. I realize that there may have been good reasons that the developers originally put them in their own world space, like for potential performance issues with low end PCs, or potential quest issues, or simply because they felt it was faster than modeling an appropriately sized exterior for a building. One of the few times if at all that it even makes sense to have a separate interior world space, would have to be the old flying ship, considering it moves. So obviously if one of the reasons they made them this way was PC performance, this mod will not be for low end PCs.In terms of mod incompatibility, there are not currently many good mods that even alter these spaces to have to worry about it, and the sooner that this mod will be created the sooner future modders can ensure their mods are compatible with it.I think one of the main difficulties could be that the external buildings will not match the internal, as in to big or to small, however the buildings can always be recreated or edited with creative liberty any way you see fit.Thank you for reading and I hope this can become a reality!
  15. Hello everyone! , so there are currently mods that allow more functionality to scrapping anywhere outside, but I have some requests for much needed improvements that I think everyone could enjoy..: I'd like scrapping & building anywhere, not just exteriors, but interiors as well!I'd like to be able to scrap and build without needing the workbench loaded in a nearby radius. (With the current mod I use, I have to clear the area I want to scrap of enemies first, and gather any items I don't want to scrap, then walk ALL the way back to a workbench area which could be quite far, activate the workbench, then walk all the way back again to the area I want to scrap at. Therefore if there was a mod that lets you activate it anywhere it would be very useful!)I'd like to be able to scrap, without needing to access a workbench & without having the building UI appear! (I don't see WHY scrapping has to be tied to building, they are separate functions and scrapping would be a lot faster & fun just assigned to a hotkey or such, rather than tied into the building UI!)I'd like more protections on certain objects from being scrapped accidentally, the focus of scrapping should be on things that are more scrap oriented like trash, leaves, lampposts, poles, furniture, stumps, rubble, rather than a road, bridge, building or landmark, you know vital things, especially those which are in good condition. (I accidentally scrapped an entire house once, and although it may sound cool, it serves my point that there are important things which should not be scrapped, and no way to recover them in those situations, like the ground, roads, buildings..)There are some cool objects that can be scrapped, but they can't be moved around!, therefore I'd like to request functionality to be able to move them, even entire buildings and landmarks. It's one thing preventing us from scrapping them for our own good, but I don't mind being able to move them around!Add an option to toggle the green/red ring of the building area radius around workbenches off and on, considering that many mods are allowing us to scrap and build far outside that range, the glowing radius is only becoming annoying.Thank you for reading my requests/suggestions and I really hope you consider them, and make this game even more exciting.
