  1. I'll keep this short and simple. Couple of years ago i written several stories about a specific character of mine, a character very dear to me, and now i want to bring him to Skyrim in the form of a fully voiced companion that will comment on various subjects, player actions and events. I aim to make this companion to feel real and involved, to have him tell his stories, experiences and past events to player, but in order to make this happen, i will need a little help. I can handle most aspects of modding, but scripts are just beyond me, i get a migraine just by looking at them, meaning that i need a talented scripter to take over that part of the project, i need a "partner in crime" so to speak. In the general sense, i would be responsible for character design, writing both regular and conditional dialog, mapping, spell creation, searching for voice actors and directing the whole project while they would be in charge of building a companion framework and assisting with the creation of quests. If anyone is interested in making this goal of mine a reality, send me a message here on the forums and i will gladly explain more in detail. Cheers!
  2. I fixed the BStripshape error by rolling back the nif version to skyrim LE so that i would be able to import the files, but once i was finishing editing the model, i had a new issues when trying to export it. I'm now getting an "index error: list out of range" error (using blender 2.7)
  3. tried importing nif file recently using the nif blender 3d plugin, but i keep getting this error: http://i68.tinypic.com/ta0w79.png Can anyone assist me in fixing this issue ( i own Blender 2.79 and the latest nif plugin)?

  5. Without saying too much about what's it's for, i'd like to ask if there is a dialogue condition that checks how many times a certain npc has entered a certain cell? I have several "answer" topic versions, and i want each of them to only display after that npc has been in certain cells a certain amount of times. If this isn't possible via scripts or conditions (which are easier to handle), i'll scrap that part of the larger idea, but if it is, i'd very much like to know about it. Thanks in advance! -Gguy

I had a nasty issue happen to me just a moment ago, i turned on my pc and noticed right away that my screen seemed darker, then i went into skyrim and the main menu ran at 3 fps, then i launched oblivion, made a character and it was a black screen. I was quite concerned, but i managed to find the issue and fix it, seems my nvidia drivers were outdated since today, and it caused all kinds of issues on my pc. After i updated the drivers and restarted my pc, everything was working as intended......

      screen was back to normal lighting, games ran smoothly as before once more, everything was back to normal. Now that that's done, i can finally install TES 5 Bruma and enjoy my return to Cyrodil with my newly appointed Imperial Legate.

       

  7. That is nearly impossible, while i may have the lines planned, things can always change, updates can be made and more things added. Maybe a random idea hits me one day and i just have to add it.

My very first mod will be a detailed and immersive companion based off a character i made in ESO ages ago. Herntienic Freyax, a Breton mage that has his fair share of tales to tell. You will meet first meet Herntienic at the College of Winterhold, where he was recently appointed as a Wizard. He's a very busy man, but if you manage to convince him, he might just come along with you =P. Now, Herntienic not only has his fair share of stories to tell (mostly about his past), but he also reacts on the world around him, the player and other such events. I plan to add more and more after the initial dialogue is voice acted. Some of features: -He will comment on quests -He will have different things to say when you talk to him while it's raining and you're outside -If you're in the middle of a snowstorm, he will shake and comment on it once you interact with him -If you're in the middle of a snowstorm and have a torch out while talking to him, he might try to warm his hands (and comment on it). -If you're trying to sneak with a torch, he will comment on it -he has different dialogue when you're sneaking -He will share interesting trivia if you travel to magic related locations, all from his personal knowledge. -He will tell you more about himself, his origins and his mysterious past. -There might be a few insanely hidden easter eggs that 99% of you will probably never find -He will comment on locations -He will comment on any Artifacts you might be carrying -He starts off with empowered sparks, which stagger whoever they hit (unless they are immune), at higher levels he also gets an empowered Thunder bolt, which uses more magicka than a regular one, but can push people back like the unrelenting force shout can (doesn't work on enemies immune to pushing) Generally, i will take one step at time, but there's a lot of cool and immersive things i can down with good o'l Hern, i just need a voice actor to help me bring him to live. Here's some info on Herntienic: Race:Breton Age: 42 Occupation: College of Winterhold Wizard, Spell Crafter, Researcher. Affiliation: College of Winterhold Former Affiliation: secret =P Voice range: Medium-slightly deeper Traits: Married to his work, he is open minded and indifferent in most cases, not a stranger to bending rules in order to further magical advancements, he has no love for those filled with arrogance, he is easily annoyed by those lacking dedication. Personality: He usually speaks in a rather neutral tone, he usually uses very long and formal/official sounding words (Very well then, i suppose i shall return to my duties, you can find me back at the college if you require further assistance/Are you in need of my expertise?) The mod is currently only planned for Skyrim SE, since i don't own the original anymore =P. Btw, i don't want to come off harsh here, but try to only apply if you plan on finishing the project, i had spent the last 4 years working day and night (until i nearly passed out) trying to get my creations out there, but then none of them ever did because the voice actors left mid production for one reason or another. Everyone has their lives to tend to, i get it, but if you expect stuff like that to happen, don't apply for large roles.

  12. So...yeah, i just got back to Skyrim via Special Edition and i decided to try my hand at Skyrim modding (I have a lot of fallout 4 experience, but it's not too hard to adjust). Thing is, i've written some character dialogue and recorded placeholder audio, but the game seems to be missing the Fonixdata.cdf, meaning i can't generate lip files. I've tried replacing the missing FonixData with both the fallout 4 and fallout new vegas versions of the file, but all that does is crash my CK without a warning the moment i try to RECORD audio. Can anyone assist me on the matter?

I had this problem recently, and i've figured it out: if your XCOM 2 user path (in the mod buddy" is set to Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 War of the Chosen SDK\XComGame\ , you can only open files from inside the WOTC sdk folders, if its set to the vanilla SDK, you can only open files in the vanilla SDK. Don't worry, though, the new WOTC SDK (if you have the full version) has all the vanilla assets copied, so you don't really need the original folder when importing.
