  1. Hi everyone. My husband just sold our old computer and built us a new one, and thanks to his backup I have all my Oblivion saves. The weird thing though is that I can't remember where to put them in order to find them once I get my Oblivion game up and running again. Can you guys give me some tips? (btw---I don't know if this matters, but we just swtiched from XP to Windows 7) Thanks so much for your help! Tracy
  2. Hi everyone. Not sure if this is where to post this, so please let me know if I need to move it. Anyway, my husband recently built us a new computer and put a new operating system on it too. I've got all of my data backed up (documents, Oblivion files, etc.) or so I thought. But when I went in to find the saved games and put them in the right place, I couldn't find them at all, and now I"m wondering if they were incuded in the backup in the firstplace? sigh.... Anyway, I hate to think of starting all over again, so It thought I'd see if you guys might have some ideas of other places my saved game files might be. Thanks for your help in advance, Tracy
  3. Hi everyone. I've just started playing Morrowind for the first time and have found some great mods that I'd like to use in the game. (Especially house mods) Unfortunately, I get an error message when I try to check the box next to a mod name as I get ready to load the game and someone told me that it might be because the game is old but the mods have been created recently and so there's a conflict. Does anyone know how to get around this assuming that's what's going on? Thank you for your help in advance, Tracy :)
  4. Thanks Slygothmog. I appreciate your help and I don't want to mess up my game so I guess I'll leave those two alone and check out some other SI houses! : ) PS I love your avatar. lol Tracy
  5. Hi everyone. I just downloaded a mod for houses in SI, but in order to buy the houses you have to get them from Syl and Thadon. Unfortunately, I've killed those two already (lol) and so I'm wondering if there is a way to bring them back so that I can use this mod? Thanks so much! Tracy :)
  6. Great--thanks so much. I will give this a try and hopefully it'll be just what I need. :) Tracy
  7. Hi everyone. I've been installing mods recently and after installing the last two, Bedwyr Castle and The Shivering Isles Necropolis, I get those big, yellow "missing meshes" things everywhere and can't play the mod. I'm wondering now if it might be something about the way I'm installing them since they're two different mods by two different authors but the same problem, and so I wanted to act like a newbie and ask the more experienced guys/girls to help me. Here's what I did and I'd like to find out what I might be doing wrong and then maybe some tips about how to do it the right way. (I've been playing mods for years but with some of them this mesh thing happens and I'm not sure I've actually been doing it right!) I click on the file's folder, have Win Zip extract it to ProgramFiles/Bethesda/Oblivion/Data. Then I usually manually put any new mesh files into the Mesh section, new textures into the Textures folder, put the .esp file into the section where the other esps are, then just check the file when it appears in my Oblivion's Data Files section, then play the game. Usually this works fine but sometimes, like today, the meshes arent' working right and I wonder if there's something I'm not doing that I should be doing, or something I'm doing that I really need to STOP doing. LOL Anyway, I really appreciate any help with install info that you guys can give me. Not just so I can play these two mods, but also so I can feel like I know what the heck I'm doing with all the others that are bound to come alone. :) Tracy
  8. Hi everyone. I'm the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood plus the Gray Fox, and although I pretty much enjoyed these quests, I rarely had the feeling that I was actually in danger of getting caught. I would love to find or have made, a mod where I can steal something or kill someone and get a message in my screen that says something like, "The Imperial Guards have seen you, make haste for your shelter or pay the consequences!" LOL Okay, that's a little melodramatic, but you know what I mean. I'd like to actually HAVE to RUN to a shelter, and then have to HIDE literally, or risk getting jailed or killed. I think this would add so much tension to the game and so I'm wondering if there might be a mod like this out there already, OR if someone might be interested in creating it? Thanks for being there, it's fun to brainstorm new ideas now that I've played and re-played this game SO many times. I'm ready for something new! Tracy :)
  9. Hi there. Thanks for mentioning the Oblivion menu btw. I didn't think of that (duh!) but now that I've checked I can't seem to find an audio selection when I go to it. Could you point me in the right direction of how to find that? Thanks!! :) Tracy
  10. Hi everyone. I recently reinstalled Oblivion and for some reason, when it loads up I can hear the beginning music, but once I've hit "Load" and the game comes up, there's no longer any sound. I'm not sure why but I figured I'd write and see if any of you guys have had this happen before. PS I also just noticed a second problem. I just reinstalled iTunes and noticed that alot of my Oblivion sound files (like for certain parts of the game, certain character or city names, etc.) are listed there in the iTunes folder. I'm wondering now if that could be part of my sound problem? Thanks so much you guys!! Tracy :)
  11. Hi Ub3rman. Thanks for offering! I guess I'll wait and see if I hear from David again and if that doesn't work out, then I would be glad to have you make a copy of the house for me. (and that location is fine btw) Tracy :)
  12. Hi David. Thanks for responding to my post. I guess I'd like to have a clone of her house, maybe in the empty area near Seed Neesus' store. (to the left) I just love how everything is set up in that house; the candles, desk, tapestries, etc. and I think it would be a perfect home for my character. :) Look forward to hearing from you again, Tracy
  13. Hi everyone. I love Casta Scribonia's house in Chorrol and was wondering if anyone might be interested in making a mod of it for me? Thanks, Tracy :)
  14. Hi guys. Great ideas and responses to my idea, thanks!!! I actually couldnt' find my own post for a few days so I couldn't stop in and say thanks. :) If anyone gets adventurous and decides to make something please let me know! Thanks again, Tracy
  15. Hi everyone. I'm not sure if I've posted here or not (I think I'm usually on the Elder Scrolls.com forums) but I thought I'd say hi and dive in. :) I've had an idea for a mod for ages but until I learn how to make them myself, I might have to find someone who knows what they're doing! My idea is to have a mod created where you not only "help" Glarthir, but instead of the quest ending where it does, your character becomes Glarthir's right-hand man (or woman) and they are in league together! I love the idea of feeding his paranoia, sneaking around so that the guards don't see us talking (or killing!) and maybe even having us leave Skingrad to take our show on the road, so to speak. :) If anyone is interested in making something like this, I would love to hear from you! Thanks for your time guys, Tracy
