Hand fishing...wtf? Even minecraft (16 bit game) has fishing....and ya, it is a nice change of pace. Some caveats should be in order...fishing certain areas (say, near a village) produces less chance of fish...especially "good" fish than going out in the middle of god knows where terrorvale and fishing for the big boss of the lake... Different areas should have a greater chance of fish...like, colder areas for salmon, slightly warmer areas spawn trout, etc.. I think a good modder with a passion for fishing should really think things through...no, I don't think a dinky little stream should net me a 200lb grouper...but that might be difficult coding (or not)...depends if it can tell depth, width, etc..

LE Mods to bring back Oblivion and Morrowind!
SaturnFX replied to hellstorm102's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I don't believe it is a good idea to have cyrodil ported over. Not only will that nerf the general timeline, but also..I think overall we the consumers are trying to train bethesda to stop making portals to stupid lands but instead just expand the map with dlc's... One thing that really bugged me about oblivion was their introduction to the freaking madness island or whatever the hell it was...shivering isles..right. That was just plain retarded...why spend that much effort...just expand the borders...open up the waters for grand pirate adventures, or perhaps expand and have some of hammerfell in the expansion...if they go this route, it will make their job soo much easier (expand, then drop all sorts of new content across the already existing land and into the new land that is seamless) God, no more portals to craptastic non immersive lands... But ya, so...my vote is against a port...unless they decide to make more portals to new dimensions instead of expand the map...then by all means..go for it. I did port fallout 3 to New Vegas...only because I wanted Amata as a follower (mod for that). She was the closest I felt to anyone in game (my bud since childhood)...otherwise, I didn't bother in the cappy wasteland beyond that I would suggest any highly talented modder considering the port to change their mind and instead, spend their talent really enhancing the AI...these games always have crap hive mind AIs...improving that (common AI, not combat) would really increase the ambiance of the game 10fold -
So, about a day and a bit before skyrim is unlocked. I have been attempting (somewhat) to keep a blackout towards any big information out there about the game...of course, its difficult when your also lusting after it for months...but anyhow... The top 5 wishlist for my initial modding experience would be (in no specific order beyond being within the top -a really nice uncensored patch for the various races..well, new skin, high detail, etc...and a variety (should I want either full bush or totally shaven or variations). My computer kicks arse, so big textures are quite easy for me to run -a deleveler of mobs. I did read it won't be as bad as oblivion's leveling of mobs...but no...at level 1, I want a thief to pwn me, and when level 20, the roadside thief is akin to a mouse...no super enchanted armor and sword of many deaths. - Populated citys. I don't care how many new npc's they add...there is never enough for good computers...I want citys to be bustling with all sorts of people..and up the roads also. Oblivion (and even morrowind) always reminds me of a world that suffered the plague and most people are simply dead...some good mods in oblivion resolved this issue..some were great (roads seemed like a trail of army ants marching with all the travellers and whatnot) -walking and idle animations redone...especially for the females. Hopefully they can seperate youthful women from old haggard women (slightly disturbing to see a 96 year old begger woman swaying her hips wildly as she wanders off...but then again, a secondary mod to bring the ages of the fems down to youthful resolves that...except for of course the old smokers voice coming out of some petite lil thing.. -Better menu fonts. The in game menu for your inventory, level up, etc...are modern and totally removes any immersion. just some better more medieval or fantasy fonts to replace the erm...ariel Thats about it for now. the elder scrolls modders are the best out of any and all games, and I know throughout the days/months/years, we will have our collective minds blown by the absolutely fantastic and unique ideas they present to the community. a heartfelt thank you to all those whom do this out of love and creative expression...you lot make the game go from a 3 week addiction to a 5 year obsession. Anyhow folks, I would like to hear your top 5 wishlist (or your top 5 plans on what you will attempt to mod first)...and if one of my things is already covered by the game, chime in and say not necessary.

Slavery I want to start a vast network of slavery..ok, maybe not a vast network considering it may just be me capturing and selling to a couple different traders in logical spots (near waterways, etc). I think the option can be simple..ability to tranq a person, then bring them and train them somewhere (need a full bag for transport and possibly takes a significant weight amount once "full")..the more you spend time training a slave will determine the price, along with other factors (class, level, etc). Can be a few different traders. one that will pay extra for strong warriors for some god forsaken war far away as cannon fodder, or someone wanting pleasure slaves, etc...so, you got to determine what training method you want. So ya...find a cave or your home, and do your thing. Much could be added to this also, such as certain cities or factions not approving of slavery and so it acts in essence like being an outlaw while your carrying a body (full bag)...also perhaps a small number of people (depending on reputation of the abducted) coming after you to rescue the slave (rescue meaning just kill you of course)...now grabbing some bandit on the side of the road will not be too threatening, but grabbing some high class lady from the courts may have up to 20 different people seeking you out here and there, etc..) And finally, you can keep the slaves if you want..perhaps after a certain amount of time, some may even decide to join your cause, or submit to your will anyhow and become like a forced companion..however, the likelyhood of them running would be potentially great. anyhow, thats just the raw concept..Let me be a slaver... Expanding on that idea, you could also be a slave emancipator...track down and find slavers, kill them and free their slaves (or take them as your own of course if its just a competition thing) Also, the more you eliminate other slavers, the higher price you can get for your well trained slaves to the right traders. ok, I could post a book on this. lots of this work was already done in fallout 3..so the concept is not impossible..already been done, just got to tweak and enhance it. Stand on the solders of giants so to speak. Also, make it somewhat open source so people making the sex mods and such can plug in for more training for "pleasure slaves".

New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) RELEASED!
SaturnFX replied to Echelon's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Works fine (I guess). just dumped the files into the fallout main directory, made a shortcut of the nvse loader to the desktop and I launch it that way...it brings up the main loader and I hit play...no problems (and I got tons of mods)... so...great...we got the script extender...erm, why isn't it listed on the fonv nexus btw? modders would like to know that so the brilliance can start up -
talked to someone whom said hypothetically, in his imagination, everything that doesn't require the script extender is working fine...which means, game effect changes (again, those not requiring FOSE) would also transfer fine over to NV...sweet. now we just need someone to script up a script extender for NV and the rest should fall in line...for the theoretical work of course..

I am going to totally not try some mods now...I still think things like lings and such would work at least. I already tested this by making a quick mod, replacing many of the female clothes with lings stuff (nif files) and it worked perfectly fine...no conversions or anything (ya, had to point to a different nif in the geck), but theoretically...if FO3 was there, then it stands to reason you could simply go get them from wherever they are in DC and put em on without all that nonsense Will let you know once I don't try it.

Heya folks Lets pretend some evil person somewhere was putting the base fallout 3 files into FONV...of course none of us would do that because even though we all spent 50 bucks on NV and 50 on FO3, we would never presume to own the content for our personal use...noo, we all play by the rules...but hypothetically... Would mods designed to work for FO3 work fine in NV....such as... animation overrides clothing mods (like lings) MMM etc...what would probably definately work (my guess...clothing mods and such...would work fine) What would potentially crash the game (some popular gameplay changes that would clash against NV and what simply wouldn't work at all ( would the companion friends mods work given the radials..?) Again, all hypothetical...if your wanting to post of how the rules say you cant use assets from one game for another for your own personal bloody use...well, no need to type here, because nobody would ever think of such a thing...we are good tools...all hypothetical. What will a lack of script extender do in this case...hmm

Not sure if this is a mod request, or simply a complaint. Oblivion had people constantly chattering to each other about random stuff FO3 had people constantly chattering to each other about random stuff FONV is quiet...occasionally someone will say a line, and you will hear that one line endlessly. WHY?! it seems they released the game without even consideration for ambiance...what the F$%& how hard would it be for a big chatter ambiance pack to be released, having people yack to one another about general stuff (I hear Joe lost his retirement fund in the wrangler a few years back....I think that girl outside of the gommorah really likes me, she keeps winking at me), etc... rabble! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!

Nobody saw the crime? Then don't penalize Rep!
SaturnFX replied to Moogiefluff's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
I think the oblivion crime radius and a line of sight mod is best for this solution...also, perhaps things like hacking friendly computer terminals may have a percent chance that it will lower your rep even if nobody is around, like in the real world...you don't need someone seeing you do the crime to get busted for it eventually...however, not every time. So, perhaps the percent chance of lower rep will be atributed to whatever skill you used (sneak for stealing, security for breaking/entering, etc) I think most mods in production should try to enhance the reality of the game while making it easier.make you have a reason for adding points to sneak if you simply want to be a burgler -
Reminds me of Postal 2 where you could cripple people and watch them try to crawl off, chopping their legs or arms off if you so desired as they cried and tried pathetically to escape. bit twisted, yet curiously satisfying watching them snail away from you

Crowded Citys, Wasteland, and talk/friend them
SaturnFX replied to SaturnFX's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
Actually, is there some issue with the new companion system that would cause issue with any former "friend anyone" type mod? I have noticed that there are like no NPC companions out yet (typically one of the first things out in regards to mods.). I tried to make one myself but it was slightly above my current ability...well, basically my companion never appeared in world for some reason...some script I may have forgotten? anyhow...any thoughts on this? (I want to make Amata from FO3...meh, she took a vertibird out of DC...why not) -
Frankly, there isn't even enough characters in the whole game to qualify for genetic diversity to further the race. My computer works fine, I would like a massive increase in random wanderers, inhabitants, and variety in all cities, townships, and roads on the wasteland.. There have been many mods like that in other games (FO3, Oblivion), and hopefully this will be done soon here also. This will help evil characters make a fun living as a roadside bandit...and good/neutrals with ambiance and not feeling soo alone. Also, a equal desire would be a friend/companion anyone type mod. Hopefully these two type mods will come out soon enough...or at least a comprehensive tutorial on how we can simply do it ourselves.
