  1. Hello! I hope I'm posting this in the right section. Basically, I have KS Hairdos, and I LOVE the mod. I want to customize a few particular NPCs with some of the hairstyles. I go to CK, check Skyrim and KS Hairdos, pull up the character, select the hair, and save the mod file. However, upon opening the mod I just saved, it tells me that it essentially can't find the face data for the particular character I just updated, and they get stuck with default vanilla hair, as well as a grey face in game. I've tried CTRL+F4 and waiting for it to save facegen data. It says done, but does the same thing regardless. I've already edited the Skyrimeditor.ini to allow the sequence bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 and all that. I don't know what I'm missing. I read somewhere that someone fixed it by 'unpacking a .bsa', but that was for Special Edition, and I'm not using that version. I also don't see a .bsa file to extract in the mod for the basic Skyrim, so I'm a bit confused. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time! EDIT: And yes, I know about the KS Overhaul mod. While it is great, it's not what I'm looking for. I want to do this to a select few characters.
  2. -Update- Re-installing FNIS definitely did not help. :/ *SECOND UPDATE* It didn't register that it may have been because I was using a 360 controller, but that seems to have been the problem. I've reinstalled it's drivers, and the issue is fixed. :)
  3. Basically, what the title says. I usually have a Daedric Warhammer that I keep equipped on my character, so when I went to play Skyrim (SKSE) after a few months of not playing, or even messing with any mods/files at all, suddenly, if I use a power attack even once, it gets stuck, and as soon as the stamina recharges, my character does it again. Even if I restart the game, load a different save file, or sheathe the weapon, she still gets stuck in the animation (although the weapon does indeed sheathe). I checked my data files, and noticed that even though I have no FNIS relying animations that affect combat tactics, the FNISforusers.exe file is now missing, so I'm going to reinstall it and see if that fixes it, assuming it's a behavior/animation file that relies on FNIS that may be affecting it. Aside from that, I'm out of ideas. Has anyone ever had this happen/know how to fix it without having to re-install the entire game? Thank you for reading!
  4. I actually figured it out before checking this. I didn't realize Nifskope was a requirement for altering the glow of the eyes (I should have figured since it makes sense they would be a part of meshing and not the texture). But regardless, thank you very much for your help. :) I'm glad I figured this out. Now I can help my friends mod colors as well!
  5. Oh wow! I actually did manage to figure it out prior this post, but the method I used was far more complex. This certainly makes things easier for modding in the future though! Thanks!
  6. (Okay, wasn't expecting the title to cut off, but you probably get that it ended with 'glow'.) Anyway, hi! I have a small question... Would anyone happen to know how you change the eye color of Shadowmere? I think it would be great to change the color of the glow as well, but I have no clue how to alter that. The Shadowmere I have is a modded version, but it has the same texture placement. Is there any specific area of the texture that I need to change for the eyecolor and glow? Any feedback is VERY much appreciated. Thank you!
  7. That would make more sense, but the texture path is what I'm still trying to understand. What do you mean by that, specifically? I placed the edited file in a separate folder structure that I made on my desktop. It was Data/textures/actors/horse/ and then the files. I took that Data folder from my desktop and merged it with the Skyrim Data folder in (C:). I'll show you the path I made. http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l571/PhantomFlamme/editpath.png Is there something else you were talking about when you mentioned the texture path? Using someone else's mode is usually my last resort (Especially if there's something not quite the way I want it. I don't want to edit their work because it's theirs and not mine). I would LOVE to be able to learn how to retexture NPCs though for future references. So far, only armor and the saddle seems to appear edited. Nothing else. :/ Thank you for the direction though! I'll go have a look Slof's work regardless. :)
  8. Hello! I've only JUST recently delved into the world of recoloring things in Skyrim. I have a character I'm using for a story, and for her specific role, she needs a specific horse. To get that specific horse, I figured "Oh, okay, I'll just extract Shadowmere's texture from the .bsa and make it ENTIRELY black in GIMP, and edit the eyes and saddle. No biggie". How wrong I was! I've never had so much trouble recoloring anything within the world of gaming! You see, my saddle retexture came out entirely fine. It's Shadowmere being absolutely stubborn! He remains that same ole dingey brownish color (that I hate)! The eyes remain unchanged as well. I'm not talking about the glow, that's something I actually prefer. I need a vampiric horse, and it seems Shadowmere is especially immune to vampirism (retextures). :I So... I'll tell you how I went about this. I extracted from the .bsa, edited it in GIMP, and exported the edited version to my desktop. From there, I copied the directory string (starting with the Data folder) WORD FOR WORD AND CASE FOR CASE, and placed the edited version in the new directory I made on my desktop. I then took that directory OFF of my desktop and merged it with my Skyrim Data folder. The Saddle shows up fine! It's even in the same folder (they had the same directory in the .bsa)! But NOPE! Not Shadowmere's sleek new look! Why is this? I'm about a good ten seconds from ripping my hair out over it! Is it because Shadow's technically an NPC, thus he may have something needing to be done in Creation Kit (which I'm a total newbie at)? I'm at a total loss here, because oddly, the same thing is happening to some wig recolors I edited. HELP! ANY info is MORE than appreciated! (The following image shows what I'm talking about for the most part--Edited saddle, but untouched body.) http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l571/PhantomFlamme/DaganFreeToRoam-1.jpg
  9. That spawned the thorax. I need the entire bug, alive and kickin'. :P I wonder if typing resurrect on it will work, however. Hmmm... (Thank you for the help though!)
  10. It's pretty self explanitory. I grabbed the ID of one, and then I used the player.placeatme (ID) 1 command, but it entered as a compiled script that could not be saved. No torchbugs either... So my question is... Do torchbugs have a serial base ID? I know it works on NPCs, but obviously not so much things that can be used in the alchemical factors of the game. Reason: It's kind of important. I need to make a scene for my character surrounded by torchbugs. So does anyone have the base ID instead of the individual ref ID that changes per torchbug? You'd be doing me a huge favor. And if there isn't a base ID, is there a mod/patch that can have them spawned? Like I said, it's kind of important that I know. :/ Thank you in advance!
  11. Quite possibly what I'm looking for. :) Thanks!
  12. Thank you very much! I personally hope there's a mod for it, but until then, if this works, it should do. It's a little more effort, but should be worth it. :) I appreciate it!
  13. Holy crap... This definitely perked my interest! I'm all about challenge in my games versus exploration, but even with the higher difficulty settings here, it forces you to do both in a way you wouldn't think of. I am VERY impressed, and I seriously cannot wait for the full dungeon set. I would never get tired of Skyrim (not that I do as it is :P). Amazing work, man. Keep it up!
  14. This isn't so much as a mod request, as It might sound like one. I'm just simply looking for a way to fix the camera at a certain height, keep it there, and still be able to move my character. I need it for a machinima project, and it's kind of important (I was automatically volunteered for this and there's a deadline. :|). So yeah. Is there some way to do that? Or to fix the height of the camera when it's following the character? Say: I want to focus on the side of the character, at their feet, and I need a dolly pan camera that can do that. I don't know if console command can do it, so now I'm looking for the mod. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. (And yes, I already know about tfc 1 and 0. Neither of those has what I'm looking for.)
  15. Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums, so I'm just going to start out asking my question where I feel it would be best, since I'm not familiar with all of the categories yet. You'll have to forgive me for that. Anyway, I'm going to cut to the point. The Dovahkiin never moves their mouth, even when shouting. This became a problem after the patch. My question? Well, since I am heavily interested in the idea of making machinima, I really want something that's going to make my character, at the very least, open her mouth. I need something along the lines of a speaking animation. Not actual voices--just the animation, or something that reverses the effects of the patch. Perhaps a file that needs re-added or something? I have no idea how to go back to the old version of Skyrim that allows the character to open their mouth, and I have mods that aren't compatible with that version anyway. I'd personally just like to know if there's a patch to repair the stitched-mouth syndrome the Dovahkiin has. On a side note, are there any Machinima makers around here? I could use advice for custom animation as well. I know there are idles and such, but I'm trying to find something like.. say... a console command to fix the camera at a particular angle that holds still while still allowing you to move the character. Answering any of these would be beyond helpful. Thank you for your time.
