Thanks for the advice. I will look for mods that are redundant and remove them. As for the RemoveMultiplayerCharacter mod, the name is a little deceptive. It allows me to create custom party members so that I don't have to mess with the default NPCs (or even default classes if I so choose). That way, (for example) I can be an Angel Deathknight in a party with a Gnoll bloodhunter, a Goblin Dragon Monk, and a Half-Dragon Red Mage.

I've been trying to figure out how to post my load order the way the OP did... While I was at it, I tried rearranging the order again (trying to follow the excellent advice you gave) and cut myself down from 334 mods to just 300. Did you get this resolved? I ask because I am having a similar issue and I'd love to know what you did to resolve it. I haven't been able to play since December 2nd because of it. I've updated drivers, .net, Script Extender, every mod that had an update available. I've deleted anything that even looked like a possible error in the log files... Still nothing. I downloaded the plus divisions listed above, but I can't see how that would possibly help with my load order. I can't even get to Character Creator without a crash. I'm at my tether here.

I was having a similar error. I've since quadrupled it. That last patch killed my entire game and I've yet to find a solution. I updated every mod I could (I have just over 300 of them installed), fiddled with the load order, even tried letting Vortex have a go at installing mods... Nothing. I've verified files, deleted everything in mods and started over... I even deleted the entire Baldur's Gate folder twice. I nuked my save games because I couldn't get them to load (I seem to have to do that with every patch, update, or hotfix), but I still crash whenever I click to start a new game. At this point, I'm about ready to just walk away from this game and check back in a year or two to see if it's stabilized yet.

I couldn't find a request from anyone elsewhere, and I couldn't find a mod for it... but I'd love to have the option to go through as a Durge Drider Paladin of Lloth... or some such.

I went through and completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I deleted everything that I possibly could delete (which confused the F out of Vortex... I think it's been permanently broken by this). Still, no dice. I can create an unmodded profile just fine. If I install a mod. Any mod. Through Vortex, through Candor, or through Laughing Leader's Mod Manager... then I'm right back to the skybox testing area. I even dropped the nrd_killstory file in both the game mods folder and the documents mods folder... still nothing.

That'd be great... I'm sure that there has to be a way to do that. I keep writing to Larian every time I send in a crash report and begging them to make Sassa the Goblin a recruitable and romanceable camp follower, so maybe I'll add Karlach as an adventuring companion into my wish list. What I'd really like is to be able to build a party made up entirely of custom characters though. I doubt that'll ever be a built in feature, so hopefully a mod will come along some day that can make it happen. Just like rolled stats (instead of the point buy system). I keep hoping that will get built in as an option for the full game some day, but I'll more than likely have to find a clever mod that can make it happen when that time comes.

Had that problem both with Vortex and Candor. The latter of which was infuriatingly hard for me to figure out and use. Eventually I uninstalled all mods, verified all the install files through GOG Galaxy, and tried to just play normally... and now I show as being incumbered no matter how much (or how little) weight I am carrying and I cannot click on any buttons (actually did the tomb quest to get the spear - and got it - but could not activate the trap for whatever reason). I'm thinking that mod development for this game has a long ways to go before novice users like myself will be able to get in on the action with any semblance of success. Maybe I'll make another go of it and just try to leave out the class and race mods.
