  1. It's heat issues allright, first i unpacked the BSA files, my game wouldn't run, it crashed, over and over, so then i thought i just pack all mods in BA2 files too, every single file packed, game runs smooth, but still rainbow textures, then i looked at my fans on my vidcard (r9 290x 8gb) and they where set to automatic by crimson drivers at 20% speed, but the fan never revs up if i play a game, not with any game, so there is nothing automatic about the damn crimson drivers, the AMD drivers are always a mess, AMD doesn't know it's stuff when it comes to driver prgramming. So i downloaded Sapphire TRIXX cause my manufacturer is Sapphire, and made a FAN profile let the fan rev up to 70% when it gets hotter then 50 degrees celsius, and no more rainbow textures, at all, even if i play for an entire day.. So it has nothing to do with the game not reading BA2 files correctly, it reads them fine, just make sure the GPU is properly cooled..
  2. 1.9.4. totally screwed up my graphics, Beth really doesn't know what they're doing. Normal mapping shaders are destroyed, all perception of depth is gone, anisotropic filtering is completely gone, terrain textures look horrible 10 (virtual) feet away, colors are messed up clouds and global fog and fog meshes oversaturated and objects destaurated, anti aliasing is gone, TAA has extreme jaggies. I suspect that their shader programmers are on heroin or something in that order, they simply don't know their stuff. I don't think i will ever buy a gamebryo game from them again, maybe after years when it is in a steam sale, but certainly not at launch.
  3. Github is a disaster, even after reading that there should be a release section it took me 5 minutes to find the release link..
  4. NMM is still a mess, it always does something i don't want, and some of these things are absolutely silly that they aren't being fixed. Like every time i install a mod my DLC's are unchecked by NMM and i have to manually re-enable them in plugins.txt. Simple FOMM files with a DATA folder in it will sometimes skip installing the folders in it, it installs just the esp file, nothing more. There are more things like this, which absolutely makes me hate the program, so i stopped using it and just do everything manually. I really do not understand why these relatively simple issues aren't fixed, even after a few years.
  5. The game is a mess again, was working perfectly with 1.5.157.0 and since 1.5.205.0 random CTD's and misaligned weapon attachments allover the place. Bethesda has been smoking too much pot again, they suck at making stable games and decent patches. They really should kick this engine into the bin.

That way you only have to set up the initial base, and you won't have to hoard materials and can just play the game, and just build stuff when you get back in your settlement. cause the scavenging for desktop fan's and getting overencumbered get's mighty tiresome after a while.
  8. In response to post #36538710. I have to agree with you on the fact that it is silly that you can create tons of food and water, so it ain't really survival, more resource management, make sure you grow enough and carry it around and you'll never get hungry or thirsty, yeah, just for one second till you hit the hotkey your water and food is under. after playing it for a while it became a bit tedious to have to drink and eat all the time. in that regard it definitely has nothing to do with survival. the combat however is nice only the first 20 levels, after that you become a tank again and again almost can't die in combat anymore, only when they throw 20 molotovs in 10 seconds at you or shoot a mininuke (which are sometimes ridiculously powerful because the enemies have 3x damage perks), or some ridiculously high level enemies spawn all of a sudden right in front of you. i do like the game, but it needs a serious overhaul to be really challenging and fun from beginning to end. I might give that a go once the creation kit is released, but i doubt if it is easy to do since the AI is just bad, it needs to be rewritten, right now they just make enemies have a lot of HP or have weapons with humongous damage, while some are just flies you can swat, there's no real balance here. STALKER did this a lot better, enemies and player both had the ability to kill eachoter in a few shots, and they ran around and hide behind cover much smarter. They where also always there, they didn't spawn, you could see the enemies in the PDA all across the map infact walking around. That being said, you could ignore the crafting stuff alltogether and just play the game, only use looted weapons from enemies and only take bullets with you, also, when you take the no rads from eating and drinking perk you don't need to worry about food and drinks, you can just gobble up an animal after you killed it. it is doable, but i agree that it still needs to be rewritten if you want to call it survival mode. EDIT: hah, just when i typed this i got an email from Bethesda that i can BETA test the Creation kit, time to dig into the scripts some deeper.
  9. In response to post #36520105. #36526300 is also a reply to the same post. this... some people probably don't think it's tedious to do stuff over and over again. I spontaneously CTD'd more times then i can count already with this game. Usually i can play for 5 hours straight, so the game is definitely more stable then it's predecessors, but it still crashes randomly, and i for one don't want to be bothered by doing everything over again each time it crashes.
  10. In response to post #36468930. true i must admit, if you've gotten used to it, it's a lot of fun. Though i wish they would just add a menu to each bed that would simply let you save there without sleeping perse, and maybe lower the adrenaline a bit when you do save. or atleast think about a way to let us save in some way or another, i could be happy with if you're allowed to save once each hour aside from beds. And the console is just mandatory in a game that can be unstable at times, i must admit that the game is more stable then other Bethesda games, but sometimes you get stuck, and then we need atleast the TCL command to get out of it, cause if that happens a few times in a row, it might spoil the fun a bit.
  11. In response to post #36427895. It's always smart to say what you mean, instead of saying 5% of it, and then when someone reacts to incomplete information, come with the rest. But i fully agree with you on your entire explanation.
  12. In response to post #36394870. I agree on that. I tried survival mode, played twice to level 30 and once to level 20 now to test it thouroughly, and while i'm pretty good in shooters and know the Fallout 4 mechanics like i'm born with them, i died multiple times after 1,5 hours of gameplay without saving. 3 times because i stumbled on a invisible mine, 2 times the game CTD'd on me, and a few times because of molotov spam, and actually once because of a single raider, because i never met a raider in the whole game that was actually very strong, i thought i could handle that easily without drugs or med-x, boy was i wrong, the raider actually chewed me up like i was nothing, and my Overseer's Guardian whilst having 50% adrenaline damage seem to do absolutely nothing on the raider, 153 dam on that gun. So right now i can say that the game is immensely unbalanced at times, the raider encounter was when i was level 20. Right now i'm so sick of the dying part without saving that i stopped playing Fallout for a bit, i do like the survival mechanics overall, i don't like not being able to save more often without having to go to bed constantly. Dumb thing is, i creamed a Behemoth head on with ease with my Overseers Guardian like 5 minutes before that raider, so a raider like 20 times stronger then a Behemoth ??? EDIT: Just tried the new BETA and it doesn't even let me send settlers anywhere anymore, so it seems that they keep their reputation intact of breaking something new each update. Every single update i had for Fallout 4 introduced new bugs, the initial release was the most bug free. Also they claim that the need for drinking and eating is reduced, but i have to use the exact same amounts of food and water i did before, and on top of that they took another 25Lbs carryweight off, so settlement building got even nastier, probably have to switch entirely to shipments, and then 1 single playthrough is probably going to take atleast 1000 hours if you want to build nice settlements.
  13. In response to post #36389965. you don't have to play at all, but that kind of comments are lame.
  14. In response to post #36369340. agreed.. and the save mechanic is a bit of a cheap way to make some people feel anxiety when they encounter a behemoth or deathclaw, for me it's just the thought of being able to die from that encounter that excites me, not the fact that i haven't saved and need to play the last 30 minutes again. it does make me cautious and sneak around it more often, if that was what they wanted to accomplish, then they succeeded, but it's the combat that's exciting, not the i cannot take that on now because i haven't slept so i'll sneak away from it with my tail between my legs. that being said, i do enjoy the survival mode more then any other difficulty i played it on, just some stuff makes me mad sometimes, like having to play stuff over because i stepped on a invisible mine, or a CTD, or a molotov spam when i was clearly out of reach of the fire/blast (behind a wall). I don't understand why molotov's explode anyway, they should only cause severe burn damage over time. I have my chest piece modded to be invulnerable to fire and i still die from molotov's, kinda lame mechanics if you ask me, better to just make everything deep pocketed, that way you atleast have something that works.
  15. In response to post #36373490. right click your game in steam, select BETA tab and make sure it's set to not use BETA updates.
  16. In response to post #36309660. if it keeps being a feature, then we'll have to make a mod that uses the survival mechanics and let you enable them on the very hard mode, cause the console is absolutely neccesary in a Bethesda game. Otherwise they should have used a different engine like Unreal that is far more stable.
  17. In response to post #36304110. #36307120 is also a reply to the same post. he wasn't talking about mods snowskeeper, you should respond to what someone writes instead of respond to what he wrote triggers in your head. You seem to be stuck in a loop to repeat yourself over and over about the Survival mode being a BETA instead of actually reacting to what people say. I agree with the timescale thing, time flies by so fast that hydration and the need to eat become ridiculous. Also when using any drug you need to drink like 4 bottles of water, so if you take 2 stimpacks to heal your limbs and a psychojet to kill the deathclaw you need to drink 12 bottles of water. I have been taking loads of drugs when i was younger, but i never had to drink 32 liters of water everyday. If i would have done that i would have died from water poisoning, even worse then taking drugs.

  21. In response to post #36255115. Look at the files of the month list on the main page, the last mod does exactly that.
  22. In response to post #36255920. i believe they did that, very hard is now the same as the earlier Survival mode, don't know this for sure, but i read it somewhere.

Exactly, don't take it on if you haven't slept shortly before, or you'll have to do everything again. I had to replay an hour cause my game crashed, then i had to replay an hour because i stumbled on a brahmin with 5 mines around it, bethesda's little joke on us. Don't worry, when the Creation kit is released these issues will certainly be adressed. EDIT: the FOTM list has a mod that let you save now.
