  1. Question: (That may have been answered elsewhere, if so I am sorry.) I noted that smash is able to detect and apply bash tags that is attached to the esp. BUT unlike bash, it only loads up the esp that I have activated in ModOrganizer, is this intentional, or is there something I am missing or its a future QOL addition? I "smash/bash" a lot and its quite annoying to have to activate and deactivate esp (often 30-50 of them) everytime I do a "smash". Looking forward to more community recommended tags in the future. Thanks (Looks like the previous question asked a similar thing. So xEdit can only load 255 items, that is a major limitation that is going to limit the day to day type modders that like the one buttton press bash option. Oh well, still nice to have another modding tool in our arsenal. I see Dreadflopp is using it.)
  2. The evolution of Skyrim modding is so "life" like. First its broken saves due to errant scripts and snips and then comes the Sheson memory fix then the enb fixes and finally you think that things are stable, and everyone starts piling on the mods again, you have this totally unforeseen string load debacle! What is sad, is I have come across EVERY single skyrim issue in my modding adventure, every single issue has affected me! Its nuts! Just started a new playthrough and so far so good. I will also keep an eye on what the strings do. BTW, I tried the Sheson 1.58 Beta DynDoLOD, didn't work well for me, had some weird LOD issues at Whiterun (at least) that cause CTD for me. so I would wait before anyone here tries it.
  3. I got it below 54K to better ensure the problem is minimized. Thanks!
  4. I got it down to 57K and that fixed my saving problem! Nice. I will now reinstall DynDoLOD 1.58 to see if that breaks the bank. The million $ question is: Is that String Load going to creep up as I play? Do you know?
  5. Oh yeah, I was out of range!!! >65K for sure. I am testing a new slightly weight loss load-order now, wish me luck. I will get back with the results asap. What "string load" should I be aim for anyway? <50K?
  6. Thanks, MO user, wouldn't call myself a serious modder if I weren't using it! I haven't bothered to unpack all my BSA this time around (I have returned to modding after a hiatus), because I am not optimizing my textures any more (12 Gig VRAM, no need any more, 4K+ almost everything and not even a stutter.). I am only using 2 house mods and I am pretty sure they are insane with scripts (they are those that have scripted events for EVERYTHING). But good tip!
  7. I think I will try uninstall most of these from my load-order: ALL NPC modsDisparity (good mod, but not worth the issues)DynDOLOD 1.47 (hopefully the newer versions fix this issue.)Face to Face (Maybe)Helgen RebornHolidaysHunterborn InigoMolag Bal's InfernoMoonlight Tales (maybe, I like this too much)ALL house modsSofiaViolensWearable Lanterns (will look for a replacement, can't live without this)Wet and Cold (the only mod on this list I would super miss!) This should take several thousand off whatever "string load" I have now. (I may have just coined a new Skyrim Modding Term!!)
  8. Where can I download that beta DynDoLOD 1.48 beta mod? Can you send me a link? I can definitely live without NPC mods, immersive college, disparity, Helgen Reborn, Violens and some other mods, but I would sorely miss DynDoLOD!!! When I get home I will look at how close I am to the 65K number and see if I can bring that down below 55K, then I should be GOLD for that NO-MORE MODDING playthrough and actually finish the game for once.
  9. Interesting list. I totally can empirically confirm that mods like iNPC, Helgen Reborn, Molag Bal's Inferno, immersive college of winterhold, hunterborn and disparity and other NPC mods not listed AND dynDoLod has caused me strife in the past. I was sure they were installed correctly with no conflict and lots of anecdotal evidence that it works for other people's load-orders and the patches made by people I trust installed properly but I still have issues with saves (and maybe instability). I have always suspect that its not a conflict issue but something else. Its not specific mods, its the total number of scripted mods is what I suspected, but there was no hard evidence for that till now. Good to know that there is a new definable limit to mods (for now), so at least there is something I can work around (for now). I hope like the memory fix and enb fix which were MAJOR hurdles this one can be overcome in time.
  10. Funny enough, I just finished optimizing my load-list using a heavily modified SR revisited load order with lots of packs and some heavy extras. 300+ mods (not including textures) easy. I start my game, no need 100 hours and your test esp! I can save in the alternative start room okay after letting scripts run to completion. Then I spawn into the camping site and active frostfall and pow! Save the game, run around with multspeed 1500 no problems, no ctds, game is rock stable. All spanking new. But that save game don't work! it crashes exactly as you described and I found your save cleaner test on my own. My extra observation: I noticed that NOT every save from this point on is corrupt, I wait awhile and suddenly the saves work again. (what I do is actually access the save cleaner while still playing to ensure my save worked before continuing, so I don't have to keep reloading the game to test.) I noticed that it is independent of interior/exterior space, it definitely is NOT a mod conflict. The problem worsens immediately after adding a new scripted mod. For example: Super stable game, saves work most of the time BUT, the moment I add the Sofia Follower the save corruption occurs immediately. It isn't Sofia, its something else. Another example: Saves work fine till, I activate frostfall & the gold adjustment mod, then the problem occurs but may improve after a few minutes or it may not. I am not as technical minded as you are but I am good with testing crashes for skyrim and mod balancing issues. What I will try next is to deactivate a few of my non-essential scripted mods and retry. Your observations have helped immensely, cemeting my hunch was correct and its NOT a mod conflict or graphics overload (not likely as I have a Titan X and have correct ini and enb settings.) but a script engine issue. What sucks now is I use dynDoLOD and that monster just takes WAY to long to run to completion (and here I was thinking reproccers take too long!!). Will probably play without it, till I have nailed the problem in the head first. At least I have direction now. I hope someone can fix this issue.
  11. Question: I am stress testing my game for stability, I have uninstall a ton of mods, basics again with graphical updates and some very common mods. Not many at all. I am able to spawn 40 fire mages and 20 guards out side whiterun and get NO crashes!!!! So you would say that its pretty rock stable!!! BUT: When I spawn even 1 dragon and then kill it, as I perform the final blow the game CTDs everytime! My theory: Its a NEW GAME, and I haven't completed the first dragon quest and kill my first dragon, so the game's absorb dragon soul script has a FIT and crashes my game. As there aren't suppose to be any dragons at this stage. Anyone any ideas? (I am using only a very small subset of the mods I usually use and there were NEVER this problem before, but I've never tested stability by artificially spawning creatures before either.) (Before anyone ask, it's not a graphical issue, its not a VRAM/RAM issue, its not an INI issue, I am running the unofficial patches, frostfall (which isn't even turned on), realistic needs and diseases and falskaar, I seriously doubt that its mod related, so I think my theory is correct, I guess the best way to test out my theory (very minor spoiler, so small I wouldn't call it a spoiler) is to go to bleak fall's barrow and find the dragon stone and give it the Jarl and kill my first dragon and see if that fixes my problems, but if somebody knows for sure, then I can move on with my mod testing and not worry about it for now.) I am an old hand at modding, I have been doing so since Morrowind, so I have all the basics down. Just so I've written it down somewhere... This may help someone down the track: I tracked my intermittent freezes (which sound continuing in the background) to "Deadly Spell Impact"! No matter which version I installed it consistently crashes my game. Got rid of it and I got the stability mentioned above! SO DON'T follow the S.T.E.P. guide to the letter. (I have an UBER machine, 5Ghz 32Gb, Titan, SSD raid and Deadly Spell Impact kills my game everytime.)
