  1. This sounds to me like more of a setup issue You need to go into the BIOS and verify that you are not running on optimized defaults that make the memory run with High CAS. make sure that the memory is running on the appropriate profile. DDR 3 1600/1333 is the default and setting it above that does nothing as far as performance DDR 3 2400 is an OC setting that is not always able to be done, and adds nothing to performance on this platform the JEDEC DDR 3 defaults are DDR 3 1600/1333 @ 1.5 volts. Then go into the control panel advanced tab virtual memory/page file, and get the page file off of the O/S drive and manually set it physical RAM initial and 2x physical RAM Maximum. Make sure that the driver has Skyrim as one of the 3D apps See if that helps ! This just doesn't make sense as a logical conclusion. No other games I play have any issues, Witcher 2, Bioshock Infinite, BF4, all much more demanding games that use much more system RAM and vRAM, all running ~100 FPS with no issues. Not to mention it was my understanding that texture mods in Skyrim were more taxing on vRAM, not system RAM. Even outside of that though, the drops only appear in very specific circumstances, when there are grey mountain rocks near by outdoors. Actually, with the 2k HD texture pack, this only occurs when the landscape pack is enabled. If I disable that, the issue will not occur. Yes there are some issues with OC'd 4770ks and higher clocked RAM, but my system is handling it fine, ran mem test, and have never had any issues that would indicate an issue with the RAM. And this memory still has quite low latency despite its 2400 MHz speed. Maybe I don't know enough about RAM, but this is the default speed for this RAM, nothing is OC'd. And how would setting a maximum of a 32 gb page file possibly help this? I already have 16 gb of RAM, that seems absolutely unnecessary. When you set-up a PC if the memory is not properly adjusted to the auto sensing SMP and XMP profiles it will run at optimized defaults until you go in and make sure this is enabled it will run at high CAS to be easy to set the system running and the SMP profiles are the normal DDR3 1600/1333 @ CAS 8 or 9 and your XMP @ at whatever CAS that is on the sticker on the RAM The optimized defaults are18-20 depending upon the board, cpu, and manufacturer. Because most of the newer boards have a UFEI BIOS many people never even touch this but it has a reason many newer boards don't sense the embedded profile well in the early BIOS revisions of a given board it comes with the later revisions. Your ASUS board is a new platform and ASUS is famous for this and overclocking with with out manually setting gives you this you are overclocked by one gig, and unless you have locked the PCI -E Buss in the BIOS it will scale from 100 hz to 125 hz Third issue is that Intel specifies JEDEC rated DDR 3 @ 1.5 v the Trident X memory that you purchased is rated at 1.65 v and this will effect the long term heath of the memory controller of the CPU. 2. Okay I found the solution, in case anyone comes across this. I needed to adjust the settings in enblocal.ini (it can also be done in the enb in game menu) to increase the amount of vRAM and system RAM to match that of my system. Big thanks to myztikrice for giving me this solution.
  3. Thank you so much!!!! That was it, I had to modify the memory settings in enblocal.ini. You're the man! I can't thank you enough, this has been wasting so much of my time.
  4. To add a little more information, the FPS drops aren't like a permanent thing. It's not like I get stuck at 1 FPS, it's like, for a brief split second, while I'm turning, I will get a drop below 1 fps. But then, even if I continue to look in that direction or go towards whatever it was that caused the drop, the FPS will return to normal. So it is just like some time of quick stutter that occurs while I'm turning.

  6. Already posted in Tech Support, but I think this might be the appropriate area to ask this. My System: Asus GTX 770, clocks at 1306 MHz Intel 4770k clocked at 4.4 GHz 16 gb 2400 MHz G. Skill Trident X Asus Hero VI Mobo, Azza 1000W Platinum PSU, Samsung 256gb 840 Pro, Windows 8 Pro CPU and the GPU never go above 60 degrees. Problem: I have tried multiple different texture mods: Skyrim HD 2k, Skyrim Ultra HD Texture Pack, Skyrim Realistic Texture Overhaul, and all of them are causing me random HUGE FPS drops outdoors. My game pretty much never goes below 59 FPS, but in areas with large amounts of mountain rock my fps will drop heavily, to what is probably less than 1 FPS. I have tried turning off all of my mods and keeping the texture mods on and the problem will still occur, I have verified the integrity of the game cache multiple times, uninstalled and re-installed multiple times, but the problem persists. I use project ENB. I have actually never tried running the texture mods with the ENB off, but I couldn't imagine this being the problem. My vram doesn't go above 1.7 Gb, and my system should absolutely be able to handle what I am giving it. Does anyone have any ideas about a solution? I have the most recent drivers possible. I am actually not sure if this was occurring when I initially put this rig together, prior to updating my drivers, but I think I would have noticed if it only started occurring directly after updating my drivers. Though I could have updated my drivers and spent time playing Bioshock and The Witcher 2. I guess I can try reverting to old drivers, but I already wrote all of this out so I'm going to see if there are any possible known solutions to this problem.
