I am working on making basic NPCs for my Vault 85 mod, but I just can't seem to get their dialogue to work, I made the vault 85 jumpsuit for thme and averything, I just can't get them to say basic stuff. For example, I want them to be able to respond to me with a basic "what's up?" or "hello" when I press E on them, I don't want to have that dialogue menu pop up with only one option that is "I need to get going." Can anyone help me?
  2. I am TredBear, I have been working on this mod for some time now, and I have just about competed the map of Vault 85, I have made the door textures and all, I just need to sharpen the edges. Vault 85 is supposed to add a new Vault to the game, to explore, and add a new player home. The story of Vault 85 I have not yet some up with. But after the map is complete, I need to start setting up quests and program vendors and doctors, of which I have very little knowledge of how to do, which is why I am seeking out to find others who are willing to help, I am not looking for a giant crew, I just need 1 person to help me with the scripting and making NCP's and such.   3. I have placed a sound that plays a buzzer, and I want to be able to have it play when I pull a switch, but I have been unsuccessful so far. I tried having the ref linked to the sound and switch both ways, I have tried having the switch as the sound's activator parent, but nothing seems to work. Does anybody know how to do this? Preferably without having to script. Thankyou.
  4. When I place down Placeable water down in the GECK, it is all wonky ans stuff, unless I set what it refracts, but I can't, because the Refracts Red is set to (Read-only) Where can I find the Refracts Ref to change that?
  5. In the Geck, I try to put a Glowing One inside a fist chamber, and when I go load up the game, the Glowing One spawns ontop of the Cell. how can I fix this?
  6. Because of this, I can't set anything placable water is refracted to, so the water is invisible, where is the file location to I can unmark the reflacts ref from (read only) so I can then add what the water refracts.

  10. Well, I have been trying really hard to make a mod of just a simple thick vault window, like the windows from the vault galley windows. I have tried to edit the VGalleyWallDoubleWin01 in blender by just deleting everything but the window, and then I check it on nifscope, and put it in the geck, but, no dice, I spawn it in the geck, I can't move it or rotate it, I can't even find the texture for it, even when I tried using Fallout Mod Manager to extract the textures and I still could not find it. So what I am saying is, would it be too much to ask for someone to just create a mod that is just a simoke thick window for a vault, I have tried, and failed. So this is kinda what I ended up with in Blender, I guess I just don't know how to export it correctly, so if someone would be a nice guy and make a valid thick window for a vault, I would like that, and if you did, leave a link to it, Thankyou.

Since my vault and this are seperate files, I need both of them loaded at the same time so that I get the full view of parts to my vault I am making, but like, I want it so I can have all the items into one file, so I don't need to load the cleaned vault file just to have access to all the stuff I put in my vault. How can I merge the two as one file?
  12. I solved the saving issue, all I had to do was run GECK in admin mode, how ignorant of me, something so simple, just flew right past me :\
  13. Nexus mod manager is "ehhhhh" (inb4 admin ban for not using their product) I beleive you should use Fallout Mod Manager, it is what I think is prefered. I am going to tell you how to get it to work the FALLOUT MOD MANGER WAY. sheesh Now. You need to drop the mod files into your data folder. If you have Fallout from steam, your data folder should be in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data If you have a non steam version, it should be in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data now, most mods are .esp and you drop these .esp files into the data folder, that is all you do. When you run Fallout, you should use the Fallout mod manager to do that, for it runs all the files when you start the game. When you launch Fallout Mod Manager, make sure you have the mods/addons checked with the box next to it's name, the checked items will be loaded into the game when you launch it, you then click "Launch NVSE" to start the game, and it will work. I hope that helps :blush:

[sOLVED] I have been working on my own little vault for Favvout NV int he GECK and not too long ago, it started to not save my work and changes, maybe it is because I set my Geckcustom.ini's bUsemultibounds to = 0 When I exit GECK it tells me "would you like to save changes to plugin file?" I click yes, and it does some loading for a second, then it does not close, Geck won't save it, I can exit Geck without saving the plugin, but when I try tio save then exit, it won't, it just does some loading and stays open. because it started to not save not too long after I made this change, but I hope that is not the issue, can someone please tell me what is going on and how I can fix it?
  15. okay, I have two question of help that I really need an answer to. 1) how to you set up a light switch, where you have your lightsource, and a switch, how do I get the switch to make the light visible and invisible? 2) Why is there like, only 1/10 of an interior everytime I load one up? and how do I get this to stop? This really annoys me, I would not be here asking for lightswitch tutorials if the interiors would load, and if they would load, I would be able to see how to make a lightswitch, but they don't load, never, why? Please help

I would be glad to be given the following tutorials for the GECK of Fallout New Vegas: -Doors being activated remotely via terminal and switch ( I want to get the Vault Door to work and Secret door) -Easy to understand Scripting lesson -Get images onto a screen via TV or terminal -Setting up an alarm system or lockdown system Via terminal or switch I may need more in the future, but for now, this is all I need, I would be much thankful for the help if you are to provide me with the tutorials that I can't seem to find at all.

  18. THis is a very important save, and it works fine in the the game itself, but keeps crashing when I try to open it, please help me, I don't want to have to go do the WHOLE thing all over again. PLEASE!?
  19. Okay, so I have been working on my vault, and I can't figure out how to get the vault door control panel to get the vault gear door to open, I have tried putting a reference link, but it won't let me, can anyone help?
  20. everytime I edit a file in geck, it always makes me save it as a new save, and it messes up everything, how do I get Geck to save to the same file I opened to edit?

Whenever I make something in the GECK, say with the My First Vault tutorial when I go to test it in-game some parts of the interior cell do not appear and then to top it all off when I go back into the GECK those parts are missing from there aswell. I am saving it so that's ruled out. Not sure if it's got anything to do with duplicate reference ID's?
