I see people constantly warning others about the CTDs and savegame corruption that high UGrids settings can cause, and then going on to mention how those issues can be pretty much completely avoided via the use of Altimors "Cell Stabilizer" DLL. They're not incorrect, as the Cell Stabilizer definitely does do a good job of preventing those issues. However..... they're not the only two problems! The REAL, unavoidable, unfixable problem with high UGrids is the fact that they completely break the way that your characters presence is detected by the world and the NPCs in it, since you register as being "in" areas of the map that are much further away than intended. This of course leads to all sorts of bugs such as stealth being nearly impossible, scripted events happening before you can even see them, and more. Now I don't know about you guys, but to me, having the fundamental game mechanics behave properly while playing Skyrim is a lot more important than slightly increasing my draw distance. So why ignore the issue?
