  1. I want them to use more then 1 byte to define the skills and stats... i hate having a mathimatical max of 256 (0-255); god was that ever annoying, if that was removed we could of kept adding details beyond the normal max in oblivion (Bethesda made level 1-50... so we could make level 51-100!)... that and i think they use the same for limiting max mods
  2. I like to think of oblivion as the "I'm not smart enough to use a tension wrench" way, were the player uses the same pick he is using for picking (or in the case of auto picking, raking) as his tension wrench, else he would only ever need the one pick. Also i want to know where they got the idea of a hairpin opening a lock? its not even practical
  3. The mods i wish to see are the following: 1. A huge addition to the perk system (200+? BAH i want 1000+!); if possible i might try to mod it myself 2. A mod where you can actually take over territory and can develop it into farm land, or cities and etc (Been playing way to much X3 lately) 3. A mod that makes the civil war in skyrim more... dynamic; this goes along with the above, territories being fought over by different factions 4. An upgrade to CM partners; a recent interview has a Bethesda member saying they have upgraded the companion system since fallout 3 with better control menu's 5. A monster unscaler something like OOO (or was it MMM? sorry i use FCOM) where it sets monsters to spawn within 10 levels of you + or -, with lesser monsters being more common, but in big bunches; monsters equal to you being occasional, and at least 1 strong monster every so often Ill have more after i play skyrim, until then... i just can't wait
  4. As Nate said, your holding two one-handed weapons; as for daggers... they are a one handed weapon and are under the domain of the one handed weapon; And again as Nate said there are perk branches for individual weapons (Todd used that as an example as how perks worked) Note: check out this page -> http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/420437-the-18-skills-of-skyrim/page__p__3479851__hl__skills__fromsearch__1#entry3479851 it explains more then i can
  5. I preferred Oblivion because its the closest to the real thing (minus the sophisticated tumblers used today); as for fallout's, it was way too easy, I'd like it to be hard, that makes it worth while as a skill
  6. I personally preferred Daggerfall to Oblivion and Morrowind; mainly because the use of precedural generation allowed the game to be so massive, if i could id use procedural generation with Skyrim's engine (combine that with Radiant AI and Radiant Story and it might make a very interesting game); to bad that would never happen.
  7. Like this: Thief archetype skills: -Sneak -Lockpicking -Pickpocketing -Light armour -Speechcraft+Mercantile to make one skill -Athletics+Acrobatics to make one skill So there'd still be six skills per archetype. you forgot alchemy
  8. so it was a screwdriver as a tension wrench in Fallout, now its another pick to replace the tension wrench for Skyrim? when on earth are they just going to throw it the damn tension wrench!
  9. If i may bud in for a moment, isn't ultima the first computer rpg, appearing at the end of the 70s? (FYI Final Fantasy 1 din't occur until 1987) Also if i recall correctly (boots up Dosbox ultima 1) ultima is an ORPG simliar to TES series note: no trolling intended, just not to many people remember Ultima now-a-days
  10. not necessarily, in fallout 3 there is a mod that allows you to gain perks every level; combine that with another mod that allows you to go past the max level and you can get every perk (i have, even got mods to add in more perks) Another thing to consider is that there are mods for oblivion that add skill "perks" for increasing said skills beyond 100 (IE the block skill allows you to reflect damage while blocking); so it is entirely possible for a mod to be made for the desired effects that you want (i personally plan to revamp the perk system if possible) for your desired effect I'd assume a simple script which mimics the skills you miss would be enough, but then again i dont have to much experience modding TES (i hail from Starcraft 1 hex and code modding, and Tribes 2 scripting)
  11. Mooper, when did you make your multiplayer mod? MultiTES4 was made in 2006 and it works online, if i recall correctly its a proof of concept made by a university student... if only he spent more time on it
  12. Again i direct people to MultiTES4, a multiplayer mod for oblivion; it was a fun mod for the while, but now it just isn't useable in my 200+ mod load order Website: http://csusap.csu.edu.au/~mloxto01/ note: if anyone does make a multiplayer mod for skyrim; the concepts of MultiTES4 would be a good framework for them to start with
  13. If your looking on how to make a multiplayer mod for Bethesda's games, i recommend contacting the individual responsible for making the Oblivion multiplayer mod called "MultiTES4"; seeing as how that individual will already have working knowledge on this topic http://csusap.csu.edu.au/~mloxto01/ <---- MultiTES4 website Note: that mod was made back in 2006
  14. An Argonian who utilizes anything and everything to stay alive in a hostile and unforgiving world
  15. I wonder if any one ever thought of making it possible to visit all of Tamriel? With the radiant story and ai you could effectively recreate the procedural worlds of Arena and Daggerfall; slowly modding in each province with its own political systems and economy, add the locations and people to the radiant AI and story, then modify the radiant AI to have a radiant political system (intra and inter province); If the radiant AI can do repeatable procedurally generated quests (similiar to daggerfall) then you can create skeletal quests for the major politcal powers that would allow the provinces to go to war and etc. This would effectively allow you to play in a choatic Tamriel that has randomly occuring events; Maybe in 1 playthough the Imperial Empire rebuilds itself? in another you could have the Argonians lead a genocide of the Dunmer? or hell become the leader of a country and decide for yourself!
