  1. So a couple weeks ago, I bought Skyrim and spent that time enjoying myself with the numerous questlines (Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, College of Winterhold, etc) that this game hosts. Then I decided, "Hey, why not start on this war? Looks fun enough :3". So I did the quests up to a certain point for the Stormcloaks, but now on the battle for Whiterun, I've ran into an annoying glitch. Whenever I open the gate to enter the worldspace of Whiterun (I'm assuming this engine still uses/calls them worldspaces?) itself, I end up with an infinite loading screen. This is really disruptive, honestly, I've invested too much time into this character to run into something like this that completely screws the pooch for me. If anyone can lead me in the right direction, it will be greatly appreciated. Please note I'm on vanilla Skyrim right now, so it's not going to be any form of mod that exists at this point.
  2. I've been working on a mod that adds in a quest that manages it so that if the NPCs that own taverns are killed, you gain ownership of those taverns. So I've run into this snag: For some strange reason, whenever I commit an undetected murder, I am still charged with 1000 bounty. I am sneaking 100%, and the sneak attacks have killed the NPC. In other words, under normal circumstances, I should not get charged. If you can't solve my problem directly, then could anyone with the knowledge at least point me to how this is handled in any scripting? I know that my mod's scripting does not affect crime in any way, but it's weird because when I test it it does.
  3. One where anything can happen (or, you have all tools you need at your disposal), and you play a role.
  4. Congrats, Dark0ne, glad to see this day come for the nexus :D you must be proud that your creation's gotten good enough to "Go commercial", as I say.
  5. Nevermind, after much trial and error, I succeeded in finding a way to rig the heart :D
  6. Hai all, I simply want to attach a heart to Spine2 NiNode, so that it'll move with that armature, but how can I do that in NIFskope, or at all, for that matter? I just want to know the basics of rigging so that I can make my Mohrg npc to fight in dungeons n stuffs.
  7. Can we use the wiki to write articles on mods that are present on the nexus, such as Midas Magic or Deadly Reflex?
  8. Can I post a song I recorded from my piano work in a mod, although the song isn't of my composition? The song is the Harry Potter Theme, but of course I wouldn't upload an official file of it, just my recorded playing of it.
  9. Does this mean they're bringing flying creatures back into the saga? Also, does anyone else think they're going to make use of a lot of destruction for sieges by dragons (Burning trees/towns with breath, etc). Who else thinks there will be dragonlings, kinda like in Neverwinter Nights?
  10. I hope the new engine works out for the main theme of the TES games, which is freedom to do whatever, in a way that makes mob fighting and all that possible. Hope it's not just for looks.
  11. @ evilneko Yup. Most (at the very least) of the meshes from MZ are located in the Meshes BSA. You could just make a few statics and go ^_^
  12. Thanks for the feedback, guys! And, thanks for the suggestion, Dante, and that's exactly what I did before asking this question, as a matter of fact. Maybe I'll upload a retextured Trog to Fallout3Nexus, since the idea came to mind in the first place, but I guess I'll just have to live with the retextured spore carrier on the New Vegas Trog mesh, even though the teeth and eyes look like skin :P Anyway, the information is useful and most likely saved me a lot of trouble in the future. Thanks, guys.
  13. I'm pretty sure that's how most LEGAL texture replacers work. If what I'm trying to do is illegal, wouldn't http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=188]this mod[/url] be considered illegal as well? I mean, wouldn't every single texture replacer be considered "Redistribution of copyrighted material" if, as you said, it wouldn't be enough justification to alter a texture in order to upload it legally? Seriously, what's really the difference between retexturing a trog and uploading it on NewVegasNexus as opposed to Fallout3Nexus? Sure, it would be out-of-context if I was trying to upload a Fallout 3 mod, but wouldn't it still be uploading copyrighted, "Illegal" material whether or not for use in Fallout 3 or New Vegas? I'm not planning on uploading such, but it really doesn't make sense that I can't do a retexture and upload it on one site as opposed to another site, packaged into one model instead of another model, and assigned to one object ID instead of another object ID in one .esp instead of another .esp.
  14. So, does this mean I can use the assets if I edit them?
  15. I'm just wondering if it would be completely legal to do this. I'm working on a mod for Fallout: New Vegas, and might get to posting it on the nexus in the future. I'm trying to do it with a retextured Trog, but there are no textures for the trogs in Fallout: New Vegas to work with! So, the question is, can I retexture one from Fallout 3 and would that be legal? Seeing as if I retextured the trog and posted it on Fallout 3 Nexus I wouldn't have to ask this question, I'm assuming so, but I'm just going to make sure just in case.
  16. I'm just wondering, in case there's information who has the information I need, is there a function for defining a Linked Ref of a reference? I know there's "GetLinkedRef", but that only returns the variable in question :/ I want to alter it, so how? If there is none, I will have to learn how to program it into the game, I guess :P Anyone who helps, kudos go to you ^_^
  17. Point taken... Probably should have thought deeper into the scenario. However, I'm thinking of more of a more streamline approach for users to access information about mods in a simpler way than, say, checking the nexus forums every day, switching through a few categories, and swapping between the endorsements topic for that mod. Besides which, point taken, this is probably just an invalid idea. As for easily being abused, if you mean spam, there are already rules against it, but either way, I see your point.
  18. Description: A Recent Comments Section would be a section similar to the "Recent Updates" in the main pages of the Nexus site, and would simply add a new "Recent Comment" link to the file of the comment. Simply put, it's "Recent updates" but instead with the most recent comments dictating which files are there instead of the update to file attributes. Why: It would help files that might not have been noticed initially get more ground; the file in question might get one comment, then someone might say "Hey, I'll check this out", comment/endorse, and lead more people to this file boosting its' popularity, and this could be done with every single file that got a comment today. How: I don't have much understanding with HTML at the moment, however, wouldn't it be possible to use a version of the coding behind "Recent Updates" and rig it to where instead of by update or "New file" status, it judges by either Endorsements or Comments? For example, the top category would be Endorsements, the bottom, Comments. Why for you, the Moderators: I don't know, but going through every single inflammatory comment and going through the necessary procedures might be a little tough, this would make it to where you'd just have to click some links to do your jobs every day (Or at least, to check what has to be done). Thanks for all your hard work and effort with this site in order to make it the awesomeness it is today. If you take up my idea, thanks a lot, if not, very well, then, and sorry for wasting time. Note to misc readers: Share your thoughts. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who likes/dislikes my idea.
  19. Of course; they're humans, aren't they? Civilization had to build itself in the first place, the wasteland seems to be pretty alive; mirelurks, super mutants, humans, dogs, bloatflies, and brahmin cattle all could be used for civilization to rebuild, let's not forget Oasis, either, chances are the forest would spread by way of travelers with an idea, and let's not forget the living plants in New Vegas, either, or the G.E.C.K.
  20. RTS is one of the best mods out here, it allows you to build your own little settlement, expand it, and modify it to your liking. As of right now, there are no RTS "Settlements" that have been uploaded; this is because RTS effects the individual user, not the game files. So, I've been thinking, why hasn't anyone uploaded a savegame with their complete fort? Am I the only one who's thought of this, or has it been attempted before? If not, I suggest people work on their fort and upload it as a savegame here when they feel it's complete.
  21. I don't know if I released this version, but in my mod (The Command Post) I added in a teleportation marking thing and then a teleporter gun/teleporter for yourself.
  22. It would kinda be better to put this in Mod Suggestions or stuff like that, but I've done a mod that at least suits the "Feral Ghoul" part of it.
  23. Hi, I've just been thinking-How exactly do you tell between UTC or whichever system the Nexus uses for time, and I came up with this; why not just add a little line of formatting which has the exact time in UTC, so you know exactly, well, what time it is. If you can do this, thank you SOOO much, if not, no problem, I'll just have to figure out how UTC translates into my time-zone. Thank you for these sites which provide for such a massive scale of modder communication/creative practice and community feedback!
  24. I know this-But not all people read all of that, and as it is, about half of the people (Or more) I've seen uploading such copyrighted material, the copyrighted material is their first-uploaded mod, and the person who was banned today that was the case as well, so wouldn't it make sense to filter those who just didn't read it all out of the guys who're knowledgeably illegally uploading material?
