  1. Thanks for the replies :) Well its been a couple of days and in the interim i have learnt a lot ! Newbie mistakes i made - not realizing that the version of skyrim i have is really really important - skyrim se and ledgendary and vr are totally different beasts with different patches. So to the other newbies make sure you select your version before you start looking for mods ! :) - download the right SKSE for your version - Pick and stick with one set of mods for your character, I chose CBBE as it seems the be the most popular dependency that other mods build on. only use 1 UI mod!! - Use the default screen resolutions to create your character and change it afterwards ... - Use the widescreen mod to fix your UI mod so it scales properly. it gives a proper 21:9 aspect. - DO NOT remap your left mouse button! this broke my fast travel option a couple of times before i woke up to it... omg i reinstalled twice !. it also fubars character creation !! To all the modders out there you have my heartfelt thanks for all the work you have put in. I find myself enjoying the game in a way i have not in such a loong time , not since the days of Baldur's Gate and Bard's tale have i enjoyed such immersion. I have been playing MMO's for so long and there is always a underlying drive to get things done and be productive. none of that in Skyrim ... i kick back and take it all in , frequently stopping to simply listen in on a conversation between npc's . no one does a quest like bethesda. the conversations and immersion are unrivaled... shame the did not have the same level of talent in their map and menu depts. I wish i could post some pics of my girl who is a knockout dark elf mage wearing Celes Mercy outfit , omg babe! So thanks to the creators of CBBE , RaceMenu ,Celes , KSE vanilla replacer, Pfuscher texture packs, The ravens breezehome , and Carriage + ferry overhaul. /waves bye for now
  2. After playing WoW for 14 years i left and started playing ESO which i really like but after 3000+ hours i was looking for a new game to play so i chose Skyrim. Ofcourse if i am going to invest a lot of time into the game i want my toon to look awesome , you get that right ? :) . i will happily spend hours in character customization. I came to nexus after a friend told me about it , and was really impressed to see that there is a community of fans who put so much hard work, dedication and love into this project. Could i make a suggestion? it would be awesome if you assembled a mod pack for the basic beginner, with the essential bug fixes, patches and the latest version of skse. add to that a starter pack for character customization so that a newbie can choose from some of the awesome examples i see listed in the mods. Then the newbie like me can push 1 button and presto it is all installed. The really hard part as things stand is that there is a bewildering array of choices relying on different dependencies and 24 hours after having purchased the game and having downloaded over 30 mods i am struggling to get anything to work properly. It took me over 9 hours to discover that if i change my resolution to 3440x1440 that the character customization screen doesn't work at all!! So far I have only gotten enhanced character edit to work, though i am still stuck with the same standard presets. None of the other preset packs i have downloaded work at all and get error messages about the wrong version of skse even though i have the right one installed and my character customization screen is now fill with $$$ , ??? and various rubbish. TBH the excitement i felt at the prospect of playing Skyrim has soured into one of exhausted frustration. what a shame....beautiful virgin gone to waste....
