  1. So. Not sure what combination of new patch/old save...mods I had active...or what happened. But I'm on the quest "Jewel of the Commonwealth" with a character and when I approach Diamond City, Piper is outside as she's supposed to be...but won't start talking to the intercom. She just stands there staring at it. If I walk up and talk to her she just gives me an automated response and won't initiate a dialogue with me or the damn intercom. So I can't even get into Diamond City. What I've tried: Disabled mods and reloaded. Disabled mods and reloaded to older save. Disabled mods, attempted various console commands. (all using questid 000229e5) including the following: resetquest, set quest stage, complete quest. Tai (targeting piper x2) Unlock (targeting diamond city door. worked to open door but piper and mayor still stuck) Kill (targeting piper and mayor...trying to "jog" them into working...didn't) recycleactor (targeting piper and mayor. She just respawns inside...walks outside...and stands by the damn intercom). Tried completing or setting stages of the quest via above commands and then recyleactor again. No dice. Does anyone have any idea how I can force this quest script to run? Or am I going to have to chalk this up to a corrupted save? If so, any clue what might have caused this pretty terrible error? Also, I'd be glad to provide any more info on the issue.
  2. *sigh* That's not the point. I KNOW I can just toss stuff around. But I actually WANT a kick ass base. As I said, I LOVE the things that have been built in past Fallout games by the community and the level of detail put into buildings, player homes, bases, etc. I'm just terrible at building anything. What I want is something I kind of hate isn't included in the base game itself...which is recruit-able "Builders" whom I can take materials too and have them build pre-programed and beautiful things over time. Similiar to the houses in Skyrim. I actually think that makes more sense and is more "Immersive" anyway....as for some reason every version of Vault Dweller you make somehow knows how to build everything.
  3. Those "Prefab" parts suck and are clearly meant to connect to a bigger sprawling complex. The "house" with the workstations is also less than ideal for me as a player home. I'm talking about thing much more elaborate than that. I may be spoiled by mods from previous games that make excellent player homes....but I would like something more than just a dilapidated hole-filled house with some workstations haphazardly strewn about outside that I could throw some random furniture in. :P Not that I'm ungrateful for your tip, you're clearly trying to help. Thank you.
  4. Okay. If this already exists in the game, let me know and I'll go find it, but so far I haven't seen any indication of it in game yet. I would love....LOVE LOVE.....If someone added the ability to recruit "Builder" NPCS to bring to specific settlements that would pre-fab out your settlement compounds for you. I find the concept of building all these settlements piece by piece very tedious....and everything I make looks like crap. I'm terrible at this sort of thing and it's SUPER frustrating that the game has you doing this. I would much rather it be like Hearthfire in Skyrim....where I gather up the materials needed and feed it to an NPC or workbench, and voila...a nice looking place springs up. This could potentially be a big project, I'm sure. Each settlement location would need it's own "hireable" builders. And perhaps different builders for each "Style" of place people come up with. (Tin complex, wood fort, military encampment, etc etc.). I totally understand if this sounds like a needy demand of a lazy gamer who doesn't want to take the time to build it himself.....but seriously....I'm really bad at this sort of thing and I've SEEN the beautiful stuff this community can build. So, uhm....please?
  5. I second a SkyUI style overhaul. While we all love the PipBoy i feel as if navigating it in Fallout4 seems clunky an awkward. Hell I'd be fine with just bringing back the NV pipboy...but a SKYUI would be loads better.
  6. I'd like to second a Fusion Core mod. If anything to make them craftable or a merchant that sells them regularly. I don't want to use any console commands, either provided or added via batch file. Just my personal opinion. :)
