So the issue I'm having is I'm trying to mod pine tree redone with my settlement mod enabled so I can see what trees needs to move or be deleted etc. The issue I have, is when the tree mod is set to active, regardless of my mod being loaded or not, I can't see the trees, just red boxes with exclamation marks everywhere. But if my mods active and the tree mod is loaded, then I can see them fine... So I can't mess with the tree mod in any meaningful way. Ok, fine so then I tried merging the mods which would be really nice, nope that's not happening either. xedit won't do it. I've been looking around to see if anyone on any forum has been down this road but i can't find any info for my issue. I REALLY like pine tree redone in the game so if possible, I'd like to make it work with my mod, but I'm stumped on how to make that happen. With all the great info I get on here, maybe one day I can not suck at this and help people out lol, THANKS ALL!
  3. How can I make floor pieces able to have food placed on them in game? I know this is possible because one mod I had at some point had this in it. I think it needs the right script to work. Or would it be easier to place the food in the CK and (link ref?) them to the workbench? Or how ever that would be done. Thanks all. Here's a vid of what I've been working on / progress so far. I was going to have dedicated NPC's with a quest line ad back story and everything but I'm not doing that anymore, it's a lot of work when I just want to play the game lol
  4. Heres a quick vid of my CK settlement in game that I'm working on. It originally had an exterior portion and a elevator / loading screen that went to an interior portion. Could never get the NPC's or the settlement to work right so I'm taking the whole interior and putting it physically below the exterior. Question is, is this LOD that will go away when I re generate it? Or is it something else? Like to get rid of them. Thanks! Fallout 4 2021 12 06 12 27 - YouTube
  5. Awesome man thanks, ill check that out when I'm down with my big CK settlement that I never finished. Quick unrelated question, my initial build had an above ground (commonwealth) section and then I created an elevator to go to an interior portion for the CK settlement. Issue was a I want to try and get the NPC's to work with beds and the elevator etc. and move freely to the outer and inner portion, I never got that to work now I'm essentially dropping the ground in the exterior portion and putting the interior portion actually bellow the exterior portion so there's no loading screen so that I can make it a fully functioning settlement. It's been a couple years since I've used the CK... in game is the false ground (that has no collision) below the ground LOD? That will go away when I re generate it right? I always got stuck on LOD.   6. Thanks for the reply I have seen that one, I prefer to ride rather than drive when the physics are this bad. Anything that isn't sim I hate driving / flying LOL really limits the games I can enjoy. Doesn't bug me when riding though oddly enough! Do you have any idea where to start looking?
  7. I need to learn how to mod the virtibirds to fly higher. I'm using pine forest redone and I love it, but virtibirds fly 25 feet off the ground and fly right through them. I can't seem to find a specific mod or even anyone talking about this. The virtibird overhaul claims to make virtibirds fly higher but it doesn't and I'm not a fan of the mod. it forces you to not have a companion among other things. I play on survival with 2.5 enemy damage and .50-.75 personal damage (I hate casual game ttk and ttd's) and I need and want companions. I have a few hundred hours in making settlments in the CK so I'm not a complete moron when it comes to modding, but I have no idea where to begin when it comes to modding existing (scripts?). So I guess talk to me like a moron. Thanks =] Plus how can I make floor panels that allow me to plant food items in them in game.

  9. How can i make a worldspace out of something that exists within the Commonwealth, for example Sunshine Tidings Co-op. Im wanting to know because it seems i cant generate LOD for my mods/settlements that exist within the Commonwealth without there own worldspace. All the videos and info i can find are about making entirely new worldspaces that dont exist in the Commonwealth or Tamriel, which doesnt help me because i play purely on survival and there isnt any fast-traveling. Thanks.
  10. So i still cant get this. Ive followed one vid to generate LOD from the creation kit, ive downloaded files for the source folder (TGA files) and the data folder (meshes folder) and i can generate LOD for the terrain meshes, terrain diffuse and terrain normal but it gives me a "build cancelled" when im trying to generate LOD for object meshes. Ive tried making all the files and conversions and whatever else on my own and get the same result. I have also tried generating LOD with xLODgen, i have tried obtaining the 'LOD settings" file through many different ways. File generator crashes instantly no matter what i do and the only way i can make the LOD settings folder is through creation kit (i dont know how i did it) but it was there, i renamed it to my mods name and tried to run xLODgen and it wont give me the option to generate LOD for my mod. It will be in the log of what it loads so it knows its there.. All the videos i have seen all revolve around skyrim say for 1-2 which generalize and blow by key points. All the vids are also making LOD for areas like islands that are 100% new. Im trying to make a settlement as close to the middle of the map as i can while not being too close to anything because i play purely on survival mode. When trying to generate LOD from the creation kit im trying to generate LOD for the whole commonwealth because even with my plugin loaded it doesnt give me an option in world LOD to just generate LOD for that one place. I have seen settlements made in the CK that are in the map that ahve LOD so i know its possible. IM NOT A HYPER NERD!. I can build anything but generating LOD is proving to be over my head, even though ive done it before....... Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Quick edit - I have reinstalled FO4 and i have my FO4 ini set up for modding.
  11. speedynl, yeah i i have done that and it will load the fallout 4 and dlc files and give me the option to generate LOD for it but wont give me the option to generate LOD for my mod. I know why its not i just need to figure out how to generate the "LOD settings file" from the CK.

  14. I cant get it to work. I cant find hardly anything at all about this program and most of it is using skyrim. The problem im having is while running lodgen it wont see my mod. From watching a video i have gathered that i "need an lod settings file" and the video just went to meshes and selected tamriel lod settings and continued. Fallout 4 doesnt show its meshes and texture files and i cant get any info on how to get to them. Or maybe its just different for fallout and im a stupid (im not a hyper nerd) idk! any help would be great thanks everyone!
