Idea for a mod | Children of the Forge
MuffinDragon replied to MuffinDragon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
sure, why not? I'll download your mod and try it out and see how can it fit :) -
I got an idea which I kinda want to get another person's opinion on it: Smithing is cool, but not quite developed in skyrim. Ofc there are great mods which tweaks it, but I feel like it's not quite the grasp of what it could be. How about a mod which kinda make you run around skyrim, looking for rare materials to make greater gear and also progressing you in the smithing tree? I haven't exactly thought it through yet, but maybe you get a note from a courier, or hear a rumour about a secret group name (for instance "children of the forge") and then you go exploring, falling into one of their rituals which you get inflicted by some sort of curse / disease that the only way of curing it is using some kind of rare item that could only be forged by a master smith. unlucky you, as you two speak he gets a heart attack and dies, or dies while trying to make you a one. from here to there you're on a long quest that makes you go from "forging for dummies" to "Sir forge-a-lot", looking for rare materials and crafting powerful weapons (maybe even have a choice of which will it be like with the aetherial forge quest) and in the end you make the item that cures you. I just made it up so it probably sounds ridiculous, but hey, mods should be fun, not boring or well predicted. suggestions, improvements, everything is welcomed

That's not exactly an Easter Egg... Easter eggs are commonly small secrets the developers put in the game for fun. I'm pretty sure that it is... more ideas: - Adding random springboard like the one in bard's leap and bale of hay (Assassin's creed series) - A letter given by a courier from "your uncle" asking if you want to go bowling (or the equivalent in the game, like hunting) (GTA IV) - Pale looking jester with war paint that resembles the Joker (Batman) - Adding a group of fighting men at night somewhere no one can find them (Fight club)
-
thanks! It's more simple- i'm trying to put "the bro code" into skyrim, so of course not every word/rule/term will be used and for sure I'm changing names, but it's still resembles the origin

Fenrir - Over-sized wolf in the area of falkreanth's forest or up in the paleFylgja- Guardian spirit, sort of, that usually comes in a form of an animal, seeing him in the form of a woman means a spirit shieldBtw Draugr is actually from the old Norse Mythology, it means the "again-walker" which is the walking dead :PBrunnmigi- and I'll quote:" is a being who defiles wells", it means "well-pisser" I'd add him just for the laugh, a guy that walks around wells looking drunkVǫrðr- care-taker spirit, like a nanny or babysitter taht guards your from life till deathAll of the above is from the Norse Mythology

If you still need help with trailer making- maybe I can help out. I never actually played WoW (only 1 privet server long ago), but it won't be a problem I can study about it if needed. For background experience i studied cinematography at high school and our movie won a 3rd place in a national competition I work with Premiere pro cs4 and i'll find a screen recorder compatible with skyrim, it won't be a problem. Message me if you're still looking for someone like me :)

Let's say I'm basing a mod on a book, sort of like translating it to a more "Tamrielic" version, adding stuff, removing etc. Is it allowed to be posted here without getting banned?

Hey, throughout mods I saw cupboard with glass as display case. I know there's is a one in a mod called Lakeview manor evolution at the main hall, but i couldn't extract (some problem with bsaopt). There's another one in a small house mod in the area of falkreath, near the lake. I tried looking around for the meshes but couldn't find anything. does anyone know what I am talking about?

Do you think that TES games will go far to lands like Akavir, Yokuda or Atmora? I think that it could be interesting to play at there lands once maybe as an expedition party to search Akavir and pyandonea. Or take place in the civil war of Yokuda maybe it could be interesting, even as a dlc :)

I'll just place it here: Brhuce Hammar-Legacy http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44557/? Idk about you but I love this mod, a huge, top rated, and funny if you're a veteran player. Inferno Envoys of End http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44922//? "If skyrim is too dull and weak for you- try this overpowered mod"~MxR Basically it's a quest which you kill dragons (I think, never played it). but it has no guest markers, only books to follow Epic Halloween Overhaul 2013 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24385/? Basically overhaul for skyrim, pretty cool one, and it has quests Halloween-related in the cemeteries Hope you'll try at least one of them :)

Everytime I load my save there's a problem with my hp, it's like i'm using tgm, plus, effects from spells like invisibility or dragonflesh with work too (after it's being cast- it doesn't show up on the effect list). To fix this I used resurrect command on myself and it worked, but it it made my regens like a 1lvl player has and also my perks loses their effect. (normally I dead 350~ with my sword, but after "resurrect" it drops to 97). I know that if I just remove the perk and add them back it'll fix it, but this process takes time, and I don't want to start making bats for this. any ideas?

It's there, anyway I re-installed it and it seems to work.... for now.... anyway, thanks! :)

here everyone, I'm trying to add a script to an object but when I press "add" button it freezes and after a second there's a pop-up message saying it crashed (added snapshot) If it'll help: I'm running only the hearthfire bsa with it, runnning as admin, using latest version of skyrim with enb and skse. thanks for anyone who'll find the answer!! peace

Strangely none has done (in the last 3 pages) it yet so maybe it's about time: As known most of us are not modders and maybe even new to ES series, but we all have in common one thing: WE WANT MODS! This topic it about our ideas for mods, somewhere we could write out mods without opening many topics. because I opened this topic maybe I'll start: 1. Tales Around Campfire: An old idea of mine, I posted it here long ago but never really got to making something that could be called a beta.. The idea of the mod is adding campfires around skyrim holds with adventurers and mercenaries, sitting down with them, drinking a bit, sharing stories and listen about something that goes around the hold, about a creature for example. At the first topic I wanted to keep it lore friendly by making Norse mythical creatures like hafgufa (AKA kraken-like monster) and Fenrir (aka big alpha-wolf), but there's not too many of them so everything lore-friendly goes. after you listen to the story you go on a quest usually looking for clues to find the creature and at the end finding him. 2. The Escape From the Black Marsh basically inspired by the movie "The Hunger Games" where you are kidnapped while sleeping. you wake up at a camp in a jungle with few other nords and elves, trying to figure out what happens you find out that you're in black marsh kidnapped by some argonian that wants you to fight for your life inside the marsh. throughout the story-line you get ti choose whether you kill everyone and return home, or escape with few friends, or even decide to strike back and eliminate the kidnappers. this mod might reach DLC size btw... 3. Fable Inspirational I'm a fan of the fable game series from the lost chapters till the fable 3 (without 2 cut i don't have xbox :S) and I really love quests like the lost play (in fable 3) so why not making something similar? changing the language and making it lore-friendly might do the trick (which I already did for the lost play). If someone is for the idea and want to do it i'd be gladly to give away my progress 4. Spoiled Kids of Skyrim Well thanks braith, this one is for you: This mod is about adding kids who's acting all spoiled and bitchy which could be killed without raising bounty, instead you will be rewarded for killing them because no one likes spoiled kids! 5. Sky-Theater well you can't add movies to skyrim without lore breaking so how about adding a theater? like plays and singing which you could take place in too (if you pass the tests) which you could be great at, or screw up so bad that your bounty will rise. maybe i'll come up with more ideas later and I'll post, hope people will post ideas here too, peace

Hehe I got tons of ideas for mods that might be fun, but I don't have much of a time/ knowledge to do so, but I learn fast. For example two ideas: - You're getting kidnapped while sleeping into black marsh for something like the hunger games. making it interactive like not one possible ending, but different, depends on your choice - other one I started long, long ago but never found someone who's good with meshes or textures to help me out: "Tales Around the Campfire" basically camps around skyrim where you can sit and listen to a story of the locals about a mythical creature ending up setting you on an adventure to find them. these are only two, if you'll ever need ideas, I got planty

Question| re-make from other games is legal?
MuffinDragon replied to MuffinDragon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
great :) time to work -
Let's say I got a game I love and there are a lot of side quests I love. If I create a quest which has only the plot kind of similar, for instace: the real plot is: joe walks into a bar kills some people then goes to a wizard to get a scroll and then kills more people in the land of killington my plot: dragonborn goes into an inn, kills vampires, goes to the college of winterhold to talk with a wizard for a quest to find a scroll which killing enemies who protects the scroll in the land of skyrim. will it have legal issue? other than the plot, no sounds, names, scroll content or so is copied
