  1. The textures for this mod are in .tga format, which for some reason no longer works in SSE. The only one it still uses is .dds, as far as I know. What you'd need to do is find a tool that you can use to convert .tga files to .dds, and then open each of the .nif files in Nifskope and find the BSShaderTextureSet entries listed under each of the BSTriShape blocks (if it says NiTriShape, use SSE Nif Optimizer). Then with them selected, you would set the file extensions for each of the textures listed in the table below to .dds, and save once that's been done for all of them. Provided the .esp file has also been updated (which is done pretty much just by loading and then saving it in CK), it should work fine after that. I tested it myself, and managed to get it showing up properly in-game. I've considered reuploading it with these changes, but it seems like the original author wouldn't be okay with that, judging by how they've set permissions.
  2. I recently made the choice to switch from Vortex to MO2, and somehow, even after switching to my vanilla profile and using purge mods, I still see some folders from mods I installed with Vortex cluttering my Data directory. I've been trying to remove them, but the permissions are now set so they don't allow me to for some reason. I tried going to properties and changing the permissions, restarting, and trying again, but that doesn't help. What might be causing this? EDIT: Nevermind, I just used file shredder, and that helped.
  3. So far, the only mods I've seen on the site (in the SSE section at least) that have anything to do with tails have either been for making them into equipable items, or for removing them from beast race characters. I would like to use something like the Equipable Beast Tails mod, but I think, wouldn't the best way to implement tail options be via the character creation menu? That way you can decide whether any character can have any kind of tail or not from the start, while also making more sense than wearing it as equipment
  4. Got it, thanks for the help! I now also have it displaying in the game like it should: https://i.imgur.com/GIS9OFj.jpg Might still make a few tweaks before releasing it, but that's the main challenge over with at least, and I doubt I'd have figured it out on my own. So again, thanks!
  5. I’ve been working on this armor that I’m hoping to use as one of my first mods for Skyrim (LE specifically), which I’ve recently finished doing the helmet for in Blender, since I thought that might be simple enough to start with bringing into the game (but textures could also use a bit more work, since the normal map seems to come out a little too shiny). One part of the process that I’m having the most trouble with is setting up the properties in Nifskope, as you might guess. In this case, getting the blocks to be arranged as they typically would in any other .nif file for the same thing. The last NiNode and the BSDismemberSkinInstance look like they've had their places mixed up, and if I try to correct it by changing the Skin Instance value in NiTriShape, the mesh just collapses onto itself. Here's what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/gUG41IG.jpg I'm told that it's a problem with weight painting, since it's trying to inherit the values of another mesh that don't exist on this one (my reference model would be the iron helmet, if that's relevant by any chance). I tried copying over the weights in Outfit Studio, which doesn't cover the entire mesh, and doesn't seem to do any good after exporting back to Nifskope. I don't know whether I could somehow get it to work after just weight painting the whole thing myself either. As you can see, I'm just a noob with both of these software, so I'd be thankful for any recommendations on up-to-date resources that demonstrate how this could be done with them. ^^
  6. This did it for me, thanks! But yeah, figuring out the right settings indeed turns out to be an absolute shitshow like you said. For exporting edited nifs, especially. Just changing a mesh too significantly unleashes the wrath of the error messages. But hopefully it'll eventually get more updates, and I might still make good use of it in the meantime ^^
  7. There's plenty of mods out there that offer some impressive new textures for items in the game. But they usually replace the existing textures for them rather than adding a copy of these items with the new textures, which might make sense from a modding perspective, although sometimes I'll want to equip the same item for another character I'm playing, but with different textures. So instead of having to create copies of an object for these mods, or go and change which of them are active, could there be some utility that allows you to switch between them in the game, say, via MCM, or as you're viewing the item in your inventory? Preferably in a way that lets you change each individual item, as opposed to all items of the kind (although you could maybe choose between either option). Hopefully this can also be applied to other parts of the game, like dragons or environment textures, but to keep it simple, just being able to use it for items would be enough.
  8. So the way things currently work as you're making a character in the race menu, the sliders only show the corresponding number for each of the features you choose for them as it gets applied, as well as maybe their labels depending on what you have installed. And it can be pretty time-consuming to scroll through it like that while trying to compare all the different options as they appear on your character, especially with mods that add lots of new stuff to choose from, and you happen to be very pedantic about it like myself. So I'm thinking it could be much more convenient if the sliders had something like a strip of portrait-shaped previews of each option, which you could even expand into a full grid, like in the Sims 3. That I think many players would find quite helpful.
  9. This is very true. I feel this is willful ignorance, not being taught the truth, or not experiencing life under Socialism, Communism or Marxism. I also feel sorry for some them because they do not understand what they are wishing for. I have nothing but contempt for others, because the do understand what they are wishing for. In reality they don't want to live under a Socialist, Communist or Marxist regime. They will not be included in the new elite. They will be come victims and a disposable human resource. I know this from first person experience and my family fled Africa because of it. Out of principal I do not argue with people who hold socialist ideals. They are unworthy of consideration because in their hearts they have no consideration for others. Excuse me? Are you saying that those who hold socialist ideals have no consideration for others? If so, then why would they support worker's control of the means of production? It seems like you did not read anything beyond what you quoted; I was not speaking negatively of socialism. Far from it.
  10. I see that many here aren't really aware of what socialism/communism is. It's all about control of the means of production and society by the working class, instead of the bourgeoisie (the people who own business, control labour, profit off surplus value and decide who has a job and can work). It's not about a big government and its bureaucrats having total control over society and putting big taxes on everyone. Communism is actually supposed to be where the state, along with money and class, become abolished (which is different from Anarcho-Communism in the way labour is organized), and Socialism is where 3 of those may still exist, but society is run for the benefit of the working class (whether or not it is even by the working class varies). The reason they've become associated with a big government controlling everything is because actually attaining either of them is difficult, and there are various different schools of thought within Marxism believing in a different method, one of which is Marxism-Leninism, which is where the vanguard party (which forms the big government) takes over to act as a safe-guard against counter-revolution and capitalism during the transition to communism, and where there is only democracy within the party (Democratic Centralism), if any at all. This approach began with Lenin, after the October Revolution in Russia, and at the time, most of the measures he took were out of necessity, it's when Stalin came along that the revolution lost its direction. Proper socialism/communism can't work in a single country or region because of the global market, and in the countries where revolutions have happened, conditions were already pretty bad, with limited resources, so they couldn't bring much success and easily became corrupted. Most early advocates of communism or socialism actually favored a democratic society, as well. So I suggest people who have something to say about these things actually read from their proponents before doing so.
