  1. So what I'm trying to do is export my journal from Take Notes! from an old save game. However, I've run into some trouble accessing the file. I've got 3 hard drives, and at some point (apparently around September of 2016), my save files split. Save files up to 306 are located in a folder on my S drive, while files 307 to present are located in the default Docs/my games/skyrim/saves location on my B drive. Skyrim is only detecting the files saved in drive B. No big deal, just take the ESS file from drive S and put it in the saves folder on B, right? Except when I copy the ESS and SKSE file to the current folder on B drive, Skyrim still doesn't detect it. I honestly am at a loss as to what's going on, and would greatly appreciate any advice you all might have! Thank you!
  2. I found the problem. I have no idea WHY this is a problem, but it is. Using Alternate Start, I was selecting the "I am camping in the woods" option. This drops me at a camp close to Helgen, and causes the "Live another life" quest to update immediately upon starting the game. I think when the quest updates immediately, it causes the issue. Even with a fresh install of Skyrim, SKSE, SKYUI, and Alternate start, Whiterun still vanished. Using any other start option leaves Whiterun on the map. Idk why this keeps happening, but thank you for all of your help in trying to figure it out!
  3. Yeah, it seems like the base game got corrupted. I can believe it, I've been restoring my Skyrim folder from a clean backup I made a long time ago. Gonna reinstall and try again.
  4. I thought only the right side mattered when it came to load order? Cuz I've ordered everything correctly there. Here's a new development: I removed all mods except for alternate start and SkyUI, and it STILL removed Whiterun... does this mean there's an issue with the base game or something?
  5. Yeah, unless anyone else has some ideas I guess that's what I'll have to do. Thanks for your help!
  6. It vanishes from the map, and when I walk to the location and try to enter the city, the game crashes. Most of the mods I'm using I have used before, and I can't think of anything that would influence Whiterun like that.
  7. Yup. If I reload any of the affected saves, Whiterun is still gone. If I start a new game, Whiterun appears on the map but vanishes after activating all the Sound of Skyrim options. I'm going to try and see if for some ungodly reason the SoS mods are the problem, but I doubt it. Edit: Nope. The issue still persists. Immediately upon starting a new game Whiterun exists, but after a few seconds it vanishes.
  8. Done. LOOT and TES5Edit turned up no errors.
  9. My mistake! And yes, it has one notification for "files in your overwrite mod", which is an error I have ignored in the past with no ill effects. Both the other two warnings were for incompatibilities between Climates of Tamriel and Sounds of Skyrim - Civilization/SoS - Wilds. It can be fixed with a compatibility patch, but it hasn't been a priority since it's such a minor aesthetic issue. Thank you for the tutorials! Unfortunately after cleaning all the plugins, the error still persists...
  10. You mean the yield icons in ModOrganizer? Those are just warning me that a mod is out of date, which I don't fully understand since most of them actually aren't but whatever :/ Just ran LOOT, came back with 11 dirty plugins and 13 warnings. How do I use TES5Edit to fix these?
  11. Hi everyone. I'm having a mod issue and I have absolutely no idea what's causing it. Shortly after beginning the game, Whiterun disappears from the map. The icon just vanishes, and attempting to enter the city results in CTD. I can't think of any mods that would cause this issue, and after several hours of trial and error have been unable to isolate the problem. I've attached my mod order, if anyone can offer some advice I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
  12. Hey, I have a small problem that I can't seem to fix. Sometimes when I remove a dead NPC's armor, their body is missing. Their heads, hands, and feet are all rendered correctly, but the rest of the body is invisible. I can't pinpoint the mod that's causing the problem, mostly because I don't think any of the mods I have actually change body textures (I have CBBE, but this is an issue with both male and female NPCs). Any advice as to where I should look? Thanks in advance!
  13. I'm looking for any sort of mod that would make it possible to apply enchantments to items besides weapons and clothing. I'm running an evil character on my next playthrough, and someone gave me the great idea of keeping the skulls of NPCs I've killed. I'd do this by soul capturing them, enchanting a human skull with their soul, and renaming the skull after them. I'd probably do something like display my favorite kills on a shelf somewhere or whatnot. The whole process of enchanting the skull is preferable, but not necessary. Barring the ability to trap the souls of my enemies for all eternity, is there a way to just rename objects? I'd really love to be able to display the skull of Ulfric Stormcloak next to the Emperor on some dusty shelf in my study. Thanks!!
  14. I've taken it upon myself to utterly break the game these last couple weeks. Using an extensive cocktail of mods, I set out to recruit a legion of vampire followers and overthrow the rulers of Skyrim. It's taken a lot of work, but eventually I grew my Coven large enough to successfully kill or turn most of the daywalkers and dethrone the Jarls. A friend of mine, after hearing about what madness I'd been up to, had the bright idea of asking around to see if any modders wanted to try creating a legitimate sort of vampire-conquest based mod pack. I have no idea how it could be done, but I figured what's the harm in floating the idea past everyone. Here are the mods that I think were most important to my play through: Better Vampires (with Royal Bloodline compatibility) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9717/? Bloodthirst - NPCs can feed http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49038/? Bottle That Blood http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13005/? Bury the Dead http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23974/? Take Notes - The Journal of the Dragonborn http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48375/? The Lair of Barrog http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18533/? The Shrouded Lair http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19037/? UFO http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14037/? Vampire Eyes Fix http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3374/? Essentially what I did was use the Better Vampires ability to turn an NPC into a vampire, My Home is Your Home to relocate them to my "Lair", then a combo of Mixed Unit tactics and UFO to coordinate attacks on Holds. This always resulted in a lot of glitches, and I don't know if there is a way to sort of smooth it out? When turning NPCs there would also be a lot of faction loyalty glitches, as well as skin issues (discoloration between the neck and body, etc). When a follower died in battle, I would use the corpse collector to move them to a desired area, then Bury the Dead to interr them. Bury the Dead is incomplete, but he had a lot of good ideas and I couldn't find anything comparable. So what I'm doing now is floating how I played this run through, and seeing if anyone out there has any interest in making some sort of Game Mode Overhaul, possibly with some sort of story (I made my own using Taking Notes, which was a lot of fun!). No modding experience, just putting the idea out there for fun!
