  1. Everyone can agree that a pay system wouldn't be harmful but that only counts if it was there in the games from the beginning. Skyrim has had a mod community for many years now based around being free and coöperative with eachother. You can't simply add a pay system like steam did and expect it won't tear apart the current community. The reason why skyrim mods flourished was exactly because they were free and even if they crashed your save a few times, you wouldn't even be upset but work together with the mod maker to fix the bugs and thus get a superior product. Asking money at this point however will result in less mods, less resources and only a fraction of higher quality. That's not what this community needs, it needs a lot of resources, the quality will heighten by itself.
  2. I'm sure the community will move past it soon and everything will come back together, even if some oldies don't return. The important thing is that the modders themselves aren't upset with eachother as we all understood eachothers position.
  3. I'm still not sure why everyone is throwing flak at chesko. He was told by valve it was okay to sell his mods even if they relied on things like fnis. Fores didn't agree and had a chat with him which resulted in chesko pulling his mod off the workshop and fore releasing a statement saying he talked things over with chesko and it was okay in his books for as far as he's concerned. So what's wrong? Are people mad at him for trying to sell a mod? You've got to be kidding me. He made many mods, frostfall being the most prominent one and many others for free but you're actually mad he tries to sell something? If anything, it is the mod community that let him down, not the other way around.
  4. Heard about a mod having popups. Was of course a terrible idea, but one that was bound to happen based on the climate bethesda&steam created. You just have the tough luck on being the first or at least the most visible one. I wish you all the best. I haven't used midas magic but noticed it was quite a popular mod. Good luck in your future endeavors.
  5. Glad to see they picked the best scenario for the sake of the mod community. Credit where credit is due, thank you Bethesda for reconsidering.
  6. I'd even like to vouch for modders to use that delayed style of releasing, as I think that at this point that is the most favorable and perhaps only outcome that doesn't completely destroy modding. A lot of damage is being done to the scene, let's hope that the best of the modders set a good example.
  7. I prefer to let my wallet do the talking as it is the only language spoken universally. Unless steam makes amends and notices how bad this thing actually is, I'll think twice before buying things I would have bought for sure otherwise. Of course, such a statement would mean little from a member with a few posts, thus I bought premium to back up my point to help this sites existence and hopefully a bright future for modding.
  8. Thank you nexusmods for making a clear statement on this. Let us hope the future isn't as dark as most of us predict.
