  1. A long time ago, I made a request for a Danganronpa-based mod in the New Vegas section of this forum, but nothing ever came of it. Fast forward a year later, and there's now an action-themed spinoff, Ultra Despair Girls. Playing through that game, there's a lot that reminds me of Fallout 3. Towa City is eerily reminiscent of Washington DC (in particular, the hospital and hotel in Chapter 1 reminded me of Our Lady of Hope [heh heh, "hope"] Hospital and the Statesman Hotel), and the Monokuma Kids and the Warriors of Hope would not look too out of place in the Capital Wasteland, given the existence of Little Lamplight. As ridiculous as it would seem on the surface, I feel that a quest line based on Ultra Despair Girls could be a interesting addition to the Capital Wasteland. The initial premise, tweaked to fit Fallout 3: A splinter faction from Little Lamplight (their true master is something you'll have to find out on your own as you progress through the quest line) starts enslaving Super Mutants in an effort to purge the Capital Wasteland of adults in order to form a children's paradise. Why Super Mutants? Because this is an actual thing from Danganronpa 2: Some of you may be familiar with that Super Mutant Kyubey mod. A Super Mutant Monokuma would be an equally hilarious and terrifying opponent. Give one some grenades and a suit of armor, and you get a Bomber Monokuma. Of course, you have way more than just a piddly little Hacking Gun to deal with them. If you have that mod that allows you to kill children, you can take out some of the Monokuma Kids as well (even though they're completely passive in Ultra Despair Girls and actually do help you on occasion as part of the twisted game they're playing). Speaking of which, the Monokuma Kid uniform could also look nice on an adult: Of course, the "traditional" Danganronpa premise (trapped in a location with several others and forced to kill each other to escape) could also be accomodated in the Capital Wasteland. It'd be a bit like having Dead Money in Fallout 3.
  2. So, I recently got into Akame ga Kill after watching it on Toonami. Even though it looks like something that would be far more suited to Skyrim than New Vegas, there's a surprising amount of content that wouldn't look too out of place in the Mojave Wasteland. In particular, there's one weapon that immediately caught my attention: Mine's weapon of choice, a rifle with the rather odd name of Pumpkin. Check it out for yourself (under the spoilers, naturally): According to Pumpkin's description on the Akame ga Kill Wikia: In New Vegas terms: Energy weapon, long range, capable of automatic fire, moddable. I don't know how to properly simulate the whole "power and range increase as danger increases" thing, but I suppose you could just reload it with overcharged, max charge, or optimized microfusion cells. As far as other Teigu/Imperial Arms go: Murasame as a katana with a damage-over-time effect similar to Ant's Sting, Incursio and Grand Chariot as armor with all sorts of nice passive abilities, Rubicante as an enhanced version of the flamer or incinerator, Perfector as a scientist glove that can give a bonus to Medicine, Adramelech as an enhanced zap glove. Given that the Teigu are described as rare and powerful artifacts in the Akame ga Kill universe, their New Vegas could be reasonably refluffed as pre-War prototypes recently rediscovered in the Mojave Wasteland. While we're still on the topic of Akame ga Kill, how about some clothes to go with all those weapons? At the very least, we need Esdeath's uniform: Akame's own outfit wouldn't be too bad either: For everyone else, there's the image galleries at the Akame ga Kill Wikia for reference use.
  3. Right, my apologies. Anyway, this wiki page has links to all the characters of Kantai Collection, if anyone wants to do this and needs visual references. As for the specific kanmusu I named: Shimakaze, Ro-500, I-168, I-8, Maruyu, Katori, Tatsuta, Tenryuu, Myoukou, Takao, Atago. Might be best to strip off all the random ship parts and just do the outfits by themselves, though. Like I said, perfect outfit for sunbathing along the shores of Lake Mead. Provides more protection against marauding Lakelurks than you'd think. Also, if the NCR had a navy, Katori would fit right in.
  4. Has anyone ever given thought to the idea of just recreating those outfits from scratch? Rom, Ram, and Mina Nishizawa in particular would be absolutely perfect, given that Lowee and Skyrim have similar climates; they wouldn't look too out of place at Winterhold.
  5. Some of the more traditionally garbed kanmusu (Kongou, Fuso, Ise, Akagi, Kaga) would be decent fits for Skyrim. Modern kanmusu (Katori, Tenryuu, et cetera) would be tad less lore-friendly, but who cares as long as we get some good-looking clothes out of it?
  6. Considering how hot it can get in the Mojave Wasteland, Shimakaze would actually be appropriate. A perfect outfit for doing some sunbathing on the shores of Lake Mead, if you ask me. On that note, Ro-500, I-168, I-8, and Maruyu also say hi. For more formal occasions, you can never go wrong with Katori, Tatsuta, Tenryuu, Myoukou, or Takao/Atago.
  7. I know there's someone who's made the scissor swords for Skyrim, but I don't know if they can be ported over to FNV. As for Senketsu/Junketsu/other outfits, I'm at a bit of a loss there. I agree they'd be nice to have, so I might as well throw my support behind those too.
  8. This is relevant to my interests. Seconding the request for Sinon's armor, and I think it'd be nice to have a complete Death Gun outfit while we're at it too. A functional Sinon companion would definitely be great to have; what about an appropriate quest line to go along with her? If someone's gonna be doing Kirito, why not throw in his SAO and ALO outfits for the sake of completeness? Personally, I think they wouldn't be too out of place. Also, given that Fallout is a setting where melee weapons still have some importance, why not have Elucidator and Dark Repulser to go with the Five-seven and Kagemitsu G4?
  9. After sitting on it for a couple days... yeah, a direct port of the Danganronpa casts would be a terrible idea in practice. The NPCs and companions could still be based on the original characters in broad strokes, though. Wouldn't take too much effort to have Byakuya and Kiyotaka expies as the officers in charge of the expedition and a Chihiro expy as the aforementioned scientific prodigy, for instance. I could certainly roll with costumes based on the series hidden somewhere in that vault. As you figure out the mystery of what happened to the original inhabitants, you find some of their personal belongings. Apart from clothes, there could even be a few weapons (a gold-plated katana, a well-worn combat knife, a peculiar pair of scissors). All I know is, there could be a lot of fun to be had with writing terminal entries and recording audio logs.
  10. I wonder how many people in this community are familiar with Danganronpa (Wikipedia, Wikia, TV Tropes). For those who are unfamiliar with it, here's a synopsis, as featured on the main page of the Wikia: The reason why I'm so interested in seeing Danganronpa adapted to NV is this gem I found on the WMG page for it on TV Tropes: The way I see it, a Danganronpa-style plot line would be very lore-friendly if interpreted as a Vault-Tec experiment that went off the rails, then was rediscovered by an outside party (NCR Office of Science and Industry? Followers of the Apocalypse? Enclave remnants?) that wanted to replicate it. Long story short, Hope's Peak Academy is now open for enrollment once again, and the Courier's one of the lucky "students" chosen to attend. I'd imagine the general structure as being a lot like Dead Money: You're trapped, and all you have are the clothes on your back (of course you'll get the rest of your gear back eventually), your wits, and whatever you can pick up as you try to avoid getting murdered by your classmates. Who can you trust? Who can you save? How will you get out? Can you figure out who the mastermind is? Apart from the general quest/adventure, there's a whole lot of other stuff that can go into a Danganronpa mod: Clothes and Armor: The characters of Danganronpa (and its sequel, especially its sequel) collectively have a very eclectic fashion sense, and the Courier should get to wear some of those threads as well. Check out the image and sprite galleries to see the possibilities. NPCs and Companions: Model-wise, I can see how this can cause problems, considering the very unorthodox builds and hairstyles of quite a few of the characters. How hard would it be to replicate, say, Mondo Owada's two-tone pompadour or Yasuhiro Hagakure's frizzy dreadlocks (or even better, Ibuki Mioda's horn hair)? Hell, how hard would it be to make an honest-to-God Monokuma in NV? Audio might also be an issue. There are a lot of fandubs on YouTube, though, so I suppose anyone who's interested in working on this project may seek out the people who worked on those fandubs for assistance. Once all those hurdles are out of the way, though, I don't think it'd be too much to ask for surviving students to be made into full-fledged companions once the questline ends; depending on the choices you make, you may very well end up leading a small army once you leave Hope's Peak if you're using an unlimited companion mod. All in all, I feel that a Danganronpa adaptation would be a worthy addition to the Mojave Wasteland. Who'd be willing to help make this a reality?
  11. Consider that if you promise Meyers a pardon and then select the NCR or Primm Slim to be sheriff, he still winds up as a permanent resident of Primm anyway. Who's to say he can't be Primm Slim's deputy in his own right, or he can't work for the NCR administration as a troubleshooter for problems the NCR can't "properly" deal with? In particular, Meyers and Primm Slim together would be a match made in law enforcement heaven. Primm Slim handles the small fries, and when someone gets away from our favorite Protectron, Meyers comes in to tie up the loose ends. Hell, maybe the reason why Primm Slim's resistance is so valiant in the Legion ending is because he has Meyers and his posse of ex-Powder Gangers backing him up. At the very least, it'd be a good premise for a buddy cop comedy.
  12. As far as I know, nobody's ever tried bringing Saints Row and New Vegas together. There's a lot of potential to be had with a crossover mod, I would think. Clothes and Armor: Between the various gangs (the Luchadores and Deckers, to name just two out of many), there should be lots of fashion options available to the discerning Courier. There's also character cosplay to consider, because really, who doesn't want to be Johnny Gat? Weapons: The weapons from Saints Row: The Third (45 Shepherd, KA-1 Kobra, TEK Z-10, D3TH Blossom, Grave Digger, AS3 Ultimax, S3X Hammer, K-8 Krukov, AR-55, Viper, Annihilator, McManus 2015) are particularly appealing here, as many of them have visible upgrades that can be represented by weapon mods here. I don't think it'd be possible to implement stuff like the 45 Shepherd's exploding bullets, the Grave Digger and TEK Z-10's incendiary bullets, or the K-8 Krukov's grenade launcher, but most upgrades should still be easy to translate into appropriate weapon mods. Also, there's the Penetrator. I can't be the only one here who wants to kill legionaries and raiders with... that thing. I suppose there's also the Nocturne, Shock Hammer, and Apoca-Fist if one wants to use slightly more conventional close-quarters weapons. NPCs, Factions, Quests, and Locations: If you tire of battling raiders and Caesar's Legion, why not beat up on some Vice Kings, Westside Rollerz, Los Carnales, Brotherhood, Ronin, Sons of Samedi, Morningstar, Luchadores, or Deckers instead? Alternately, why not do favors for them? Hell, while you're at it, why not reestablish the 3rd Street Saints under your rule? How easy or hard would it be to set up some HQ locations for the gangs in the ruins around New Vegas and to have gang members roaming around the Mojave? Radio Stations: One of the strongest points of the Saints Row franchise is the music. As much as I like Radio New Vegas, there are times when I miss listening to GenX, KRhyme, K12, Four-20, and The Mix. Personally, I think it'd be nice if these stations could be brought to the Mojave Wasteland.
