  1. Hello, what are your recommendations for an all-companion party playthrough of the game? The playthrough will also include an increased level mod just cuz. Increased enemy count? Enemy buffs? Turn them into damage sponge? Those could work but I'm just wondering how that balancing will feel. If fights become too much of a slug fest I might just get bored. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried out this playthrough idea and would like suggestions/tips for balancing the difficulty. I know this game is not balanced around having more than four members in the combat party but with the right balancing it might be a blast
  2. I booted up an old save from when the game first launched and am currently going through the DLC's and some mods. Currently the big mods I'm using is Sim Settlement 2 and Nuka World Plus. I haven't gotten too far into the DLC's and SS2 but I am wondering what sorts of mods are out there to sink my caps. I'm currently sitting on about 60k caps and I pretty much just use them to buy ammo and junk from merchants. Are there any mods that will let me use my caps for something cool? I know SS2 has a way to donate caps, but it seems the caps are generating just fine without my intervention. Maybe cool player homes that cost a pretty penny or use caps to craft some rare items or convert it to XP idk
  3. Perhaps I will spend several dozen hour salvaging my old save... or maybe I should start a new playthrough. I want to play the game with Legacy of Dragonborn installed from the start, but I don't want to collect everything again...
  4. Thanks for sharing this with us. Now that I look at it, I do have a lot of residual save files in the save folder (each file is 20mb, and the folder is a couple gigabytes at least...) I've been playing Morroblivion lately, and I have actually experienced a few crash on saves... never had an issue like that until this playthrough, it's typically a crash on load that gives the headaches. Reading that post, it's probably related to performance issues/bugs with scripts or something... Is there a tool like Resaver for Oblivion?
  5. Hmmm... not sure which fix/post you're referring to (and I'm too lazy to dig back and see what they were), but I did try a lot of advice in this thread... but no luck
  6. It is the same save I've had since last year. It's just been sitting in my ssd collecting dust since I can't do anything with it (and also I've tinkered around with the mods too much and now it crashes on load). Oh well... I feel like installing Morroblivion and playing through that again, but the last attempt (several years ago) resulted in corrupt save after 70+ hours of play
  7. Tfw I can never get back the 100+ hours I spent on my save because it was crashing while saving and now I've had to uninstall Skyrim because I'm running out of ssd space and I've given up feelds bad man
  8. Has anyone encountered this issue when using the SSE Engine fixes? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230 I haven't touched Skyrim in a while
  9. I've yet to try it, but I will when I have the time. At the moment, disabling Convenient Horses seems to do the trick for now. I am very curious to find out specifically why the game is crashing and why removing certain mods temporarily fixes the issue. Do we have a blacklist of mods that are known to cause problems? So far we have: Birds of SkyrimDiverse DragonsConvenient HorsesI'm not sure how script-heavy these mods are... but I'm guessing there's a correlation between how heavily-scripted a mod is and the CTD issue
  10. Hi all, I'm getting CTD issues on save as well. I read your first post and I am getting very similar issues/symptoms. The first time I encountered the issue I wasn't sure what was causing the issue. I looked through the Papyrus logs and the SKSE crash dump, but none of it really helped. Decided to start trying to deactivate mods and I narrowed down the culprit to the mod MoreBanditCamps. Disabling that allowed me to save the game... at least for a few hours. Ran into the issue again while in Soul Cairn. This time the problem seemed to be Convenient Horses. So I disabled it and I am able to save again. Judging by the pattern, I'll probably run into the issue again later down the line, but I want to avoid that. Poking around with ReSaver with my latest save, I notice that the script instance count is at 350k, and an active script count of less than 10. Not sure if the script instance is correlated with my save issue, but I won't rule it out. For the record, I have around 200 hours in my playthrough. And this is my load order: For the crash dump, I use some online analyzer to translate the dump file. It probably isn't very useful for us, but it might be worth sharing. Here's a snippet of what gets outputted: Here are some other interesting tidbits: ReSaver shows that I have unattached instances. Deleting them is only temporary as those instances appear again after I load the save and save. Don't think it's a related issue though.Anytime I load an affected save, I am able to immediately save the game without issue. It is only moving around in the cell/worldspace that I encounter crash on save issuesMoving around from one cell to another and waiting for a period of time seems to temporarily fix the issue. That is, I will use a teleport spell to teleport home, wait a day or two, and then save the game without issueI have some number of mods I ported over from LE to SE myself. My save file size is about 23mbI use console commands to make hard saves and barely use quicksaves nowadays. It's super convenient as I can just a random string for the save name; and when I want to save, I just press the console button, press the up arrow, type a random letter, and hit enter. Much faster than going through the menu.
  11. For those who have tried these mods out, which one do you think is better? I've look at the screenshots and both spectacularly overhaul the vanilla water textures. However, I'm torn apart on which mod to download, as both are clearly incompatible with each other. May I hear your opinions? Or should I just flip a coin?
  12. Is there a proper way to allow Wrye Bash to work with Nehrim? I've installed Bash to where Nehrim is, but Bash won't launch. Tried looking aorund the internet for answers, but I can't seem to come up with a solution. So I think I'll post this topic and hope for the best...
  13. Just installed the game and started a save file. The wood planks in the cave in which I start in are all purple. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled- no luck. Is there some extra step I'm missing?
  14. I just realized something. Now this might sound unusual, but I like to hoarde a lot of stuff. I've got a LOT of magic weapons/armor in my chests. I don't know why, but I have a strange magic item fetish and I can't stop collecting them. When I find some I usually dump my item load into the designated chests. Do you guys think this have to with the unusual bloat? The items in the chest don't reset/disappear and so they just sit there collecting dust...
  15. I've been hearing a lot of talk about this mod called "Nehrim." Upon further investigation I found that it is a total conversion of Oblivion. I'll think of it as an expansion pack of some sort. But why I'm really here for is to find some facts and opinion about the mod. Is this mod any good? I've heard the gameplay is totally different from Oblivion. I'm not sure how much different the mod can be from the actual thing. Is the world of Nehrim as expansive as Oblivion's? To those that have finished, how many hours did it take to do "everything?" Mods for Nehrim. What mods can be used in Nehrim. I'm not sure on the mechanics of how mods work, but I heard some mods that could work on Oblivion work on Nehrim as well. Does BOSS work on Nehrim as well? What mods are there for Nehrim, exclusive or not. Thinking about getting this since my save files are messed up...
