  1. Can anyone please help? I tested out some new mods - backed up my saves first, stored the folder in a new location and under a new name, installed the mods, decided not to use the mods, uninstalled them, deleted them, pasted the backed up Saves folder back into the original location, deleted the unwanted Saves folder and renamed the backups to Saves and the game is still loading the previous folder's saves. I'm going to keep hunting through the net but does anyone have any idea why this is happening? The unwanted saves folder was deleted and the recycle bin was emptied. I checked the backed up saves to make sure it was the correct folder, it is. Still, the game is loading the deleted folder. Gah. WTF? I tried just loading a save from the deleted folder, one prior to the mods being installed, and while it loads, it's broken... all glitchy. Which is WHY I backed up the saves in the first place, to make sure I didn't have that issue. Why, oh, why is it doing this crazy thing? Grrr. I'm going to check Steam and see if there's a setting I can change or something I can refresh but if anyone has any clue what I can do to solve this, please, let me know! Thanks in advance!
  2. I've been Googling this and reading forum post after forum post for days and for hours at a time. I've got nothing helpful so far. Seems like the more 'help' I get, the worse things get. I recently started using Mod Organizer (2-3 weeks ago I think). I thought I was getting the hang of it but suddenly, every time I try to enter Jorrvaskr my game CTD after hitting the loading screen. I tried uninstalling any recently added mods, doing clean saves, running the save game cleaner, checking my load order with loot and manually to the best of my ability; It still crashes every time I try to enter Jorrvaskr. Early last night, I was able to just reload the game and it would get as far as letting me enter Jorrvaskr but would be stuck on a weird screen (loading screen smoke or something like that), and I could blindly save the game, reload the save inside Jorrvaskr and continue playing without any further issues. An hour later, it wouldn't load that far anymore. This afternoon, still no good. LEAVING Jorrvaskr isn't a problem. Entering the main hall from the basement quarters area isn't a problem. It's just entering the main hall from Whiterun. I even tried moving my player TO Farkas with the console. CTD. 2nd: Another weird issue that may be related, after playing for 'so long' (could be an hour, could be 3), the game will randomly stop loading textures: An NPC will run by with black arms and body/neck. The chicken's nest will be purple. My bow will suddenly be purple and missing the textures. Or random clothes will stop loading right: Novice Necromancer A has clothing textures, but the robes on Novice Necromancer B are black, no texture, just a black void shaped vaguely like the robes s/he's wearing. Saving, exiting and reloading the game solves this for a good while typically. 3rd, and this may or may not be even remotely related: I keep having a problem with Campfire and Frostfall plugins ending up in the Overwrite folder. I've tried putting them everywhere conceivable. I've even created a new mod from just those files and that seemed to really screw things up. (My character would get stuck trying to build a fire, the only fix was to move back into first person, click the fire again and select 'Use' again, and it would replay the 'crouching to use the fire' animation and the finally enter the fire building menu correctly. When I removed that new Plug-ins mod I created, let the game recreate those plug-ins (and put them back into the Overwrite folder), then moved them into their respective mods, that glitched stopped. However, those files WILL eventually end up back in the Overwrite folder again because that's what happens ever damn time. I'm getting really frustrated with this and with MO. At least with NMM, I knew what files were overwritten and what parts of what mods were active and what weren't. It's like my MO is possessed, like it randomly decides that it wants to use the overwritten files instead or something. Oh, LASTLY: I have tried S.T.E.P., I've gone through all the Skyrim Speed and Stability Tweaks tutorials, ENBoost,...blah blah, blah... All of those effed things up worse. Sheson's patch thing is obsolete thanks to SKSE's latest update(s). It's as if none of those are up to date with the current build of MO (which seems to have just updated and I hate the change), SKSE, Windows 10, DirectX...ANY of that. Last one I tried, (and I've done these before and had them work correctly, been at this modding thing since 2013, I'm not a pro but not a complete noob either), but the last one I tried left my Skyrim loading all pixelated and tiny; I could hardly read the Start Game options. It looked like a computer game from 1986! All I did was use the ENB speed and stability hack/patch/guide thing, whatever it's called (sorry, I have had a migraine for legitimately, like 4-5 months), and when I retraced my steps back to undo it all, following the guide again, it didn't fix the problem. I searched for the messed up settings for 2 hours before I gave up, decided my entire game set-up was just hosed and reinstalled everything from scratch. Even Steam! Now, I have a new SSD drive, fresh install of Windows 10, very light system usage load, core unparking program, SKSE ini tweaks, clean file folder setup, have all the restrictions/allowances sorted out... This rig isn't Top of the Line but it defaults to Ultra High settings for game play. I have at least 3G of VRAM. Momory blocks for the game have been adjusted correctly and in the correct (far as I can tell according to all the tutorials) ini file. Oh, and my play-through with Vilja, added to all this stuff (90-some active mods), is basically flawless. I even had a mod build running an ENB last week, before I overhauled everything, and aside from FPS loss, it was also flawless, with MO, not NMM. I'm utterly at a loss. I never had this kind of trouble with NMM. *sigh* But I love the clean, separate profiles made possible by MO. I just can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong and all the help topics seem to be from 2012-2014 and useless. Oh, OR they tell you to turn on Papyrus logging and check those logs. Also useless. I know better than that. Ugh. Here's my mod list/order, just for S&Gs. I MUST be doing something wrong. Help would be hugely appreciated!
  3. Back in the game...only took a year.
  4. Yes! Thank you! Wow. That was fast. :)
  5. Kind of a long-shot but I'm hoping someone sees this post who has seen the mod I lost. I found a mod that looked really cool yesterday and I could have sworn I hit the track button but apparently didn't. It's a mod for a new(ish?) body type (other than UNP, DreamGirls, 7Base, CBBE, etc..) and it leans more toward battle ready, and has its own, lore-friendly, armor colection to go along. It's somewhat new from what I can remember and the screen shots had a very gritty, slightly dark, sort of artistic style. I have been hunting through the Nexus for hours. Around 4+. And there is no sign of it. For the life of me I can't remember what I was searching for when I stubled across it either. All I can recall is that it looked pretty cool and the description talked about, (to paraphrase) "... female who lookes more like she can traverse Skyrim in full battle gear all day, take on drauger, bandits and dragons, knock back a few pints of ale and do it all again tomorrow." I've tried every key word I can think of, slogged through hundreds of pages of mods and still can't find it. If I remember right, it comes with the armors for the body so I have no idea if it would even be under Models and Textures, Armor, Overhauls...? No clue. There are SO many mods out there, I could spend DAYS, if not weeks, searching. So, I'm appealng to the community for help! If anyone has seent this mod, (or you own the mod) please let me know? I'd love to give it a try. Thanks all!
  6. UPDATE: Hey I think I found a sort of fix for this! Download the Skyrim Save Game Script Cleaner mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? Install and run it. I HIGHLY recommend you watch the awesome tutorial video on the mod page, unless you're already a pro and build mods for fun. Even then, might be helpful. When you're ready, run the tool (it's not a virus, I promise), open the save that has the shaky came issue, clean any orphaned scripts and then scroll down to the script called HelgenRandomSound script and delete the little sucker. I also deleted the HelgenBridgeCrash..something-or-other script to be safe. I did this on a test game I've been running and so far, so good. No ill effects that I'm aware of. Also, no vibrating controller and no shaky cam! It doesn't fix the mod itself, but it fixes the script issue so I call it a win! :) I ran the "infected," save for about half an hour without any problems after I deleted the offending script. Hope this helps! Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I really love using this quick start mod for testing purposes but it gets annoying after a while if I try to play through after using it. (So far, no other saves seems to be affected by this issue, just the quick start saves.) The controller vibrates at fairly regular intervals (in which case, I simply turn off the vibration feature) and when in conversations (I use face to face conversations mod), the screen shakes every few seconds, as though a dragon just flew right over head. It isn't terribly game-breaking for me as I don't get any ctd or anything but damn annoying. I panic for a split second, thinking there's an dragon attacking. Although, on that note, I'm about to test out Run for Your Lives so I don't have to worry about every last merchant being burned alive as I play through OR making massive batch files to protect those idiots. "I sell bread for a living and only have one, little, iron dagger, but I can take on this dragon, raaawwwrrrrr!" Gah. At any rate... I use a save game script cleaner and even with the mod's scripts cleaned and removed after a "clean," uninstall, I still get the goofy shake. Didn't see that mentioned anywhere else. Lastly, I doubt I'd be useful, I barely know my way around CK yet but if there's anything I can do to help out with this, feel free to PM me.
  7. This was posted a year ago but... You're not alone! If you're even still on the Nexus. I keep seeing things similar to the type of armor I'm after on certain stand alone followers but no links to their armors and they don't come with the stuff in the screen shots. Annoying. What you described sounds cool. I have no idea how to build armor mods but, solidarity, I guess. Looking for something similar. If I ever manage to figure out how to create more than a character preset, I'll take a whack at this. Might be a while though.
  8. Hey there. She's difficult to find. SPOILER ALERT! I edited to remove spoilers as much as possible but still might spoil things a bit. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If you go East of Tel Mithryn toward the stream, then follow the stream North a little ways, you should eventually come across 3-4 ash spawn milling around under a pine tree up at the top of the hill to your right (I think they are past the Silt Strider on your way north from the coast). (If you reach the chest with the dead Reaver next to it, you've gone too far. She's north of the Silt Strider somewhere between that chest, the stream and a huge fallen tree.) They will run down the hill and attack you. Dispose of them and then look around the base of that tree, she should be there. Sometimes, she won't be there until after you kill the ash spawn (at least in several of my play-throughs that was the case). If she's still not there then yes, try console commands. Save before doing ANY console commands because you can muck things up with the wrong commands but this shouldn't damage anything. Hit the ~ key (or whatever key is equivalent on your computer) NOTE: Varona is a DLC added character so her reference ID starts with "xx" to indicate that the number changes depending on your load order. For me, her Reference ID number is: 040177DD because Dragonborn is number 4 my load order. If 04 doesn't work, try 03 or 02 and then type the rest of the numbers. That said, type the following into your console, replacing xx with the appropriate numbers and then hit Enter. player.moveto xx0177DD Exit the console by hitting ~ again and you should be moved to where she is. If you move but still don't see her, you can try enabling her. Here's how: Open the console again and type: prid xx0177DD Then hit Enter and then type: enable Then hit Enter again and close the console. If she was invisible, she should now be visible. Honestly, I've never had her just not show up so this is speculation based on similar experiences. I don't *think* any of your mods could be affecting that though, unless one of them put a house or something on the spot where she is supposed to be. P.S. Dragon skeletons have been dropping out of the sky at random since I played on the console (XBOX 360). I think it's just a vanilla glitch. LOL Happens less on my PC.
  9. Not sure this is the right place to post this. I'm getting very frustrated. Hours, I've been searching for help on this so I'm here, asking the community of modding geniuses who has helped me sort out goofy issues in the past. I have no idea how you find your info but maybe that's because I'm no programmer. LOL So, perhaps someone here has an idea what's going wrong and how to fix it. I've been working on a play through with the Vilja in Skyrim mod. I have everything up to date and all the patches for both Skyrim and Vilja. I've been trying to adopt a child and it's just not working. I've tried every workaround and console command I know and have been scouring the internet for information for two days now. First, I tried adoptig Sofie from Widhelm. She refused to go to the house so I kept re-loading and choosing a different house. I finally made her go to Hjerim and with console commands and a little luck, she finally moved in. Then I found the bugs. I walked in to Hjerim to tell her to move to a new home and she was fighting with an invisible/non-existant sibling. Weird. I assumed that somehow, through monkeying with console commands, I accidentally created some kind of "ghost," or double of her, or at least her ai, and she was technically arguing with herself. That aside, I told her to move to the new place. I tried every trick in MY book at least and she still refused to move to the new place. I finally gave up and reloaded to the save before I adopted her. That said, I had already talked to Constance Michel about adopting and chosen a default home for the kids to go to. The save before that is long gone, sadly. I can't remember which house I picked now either. I figured the problem was just Sofie glitching, which she is prone to doing, so I tried adopting from Honorhall. The kids there refuse to move too. They just go back to sand-boxing in the orphanage. I'm totally stumped. I thought maybe if I could reset Constance and she could give me the adoption dialog again, I could choose a better house and thus avoid the glitch. I tried killng and resurrecting her; no good. I tried disabling and resetting her; nope. I tried recycleactor; still nothing. I tried setting the stage back to db01 200, hoping that it might trigger the curier and letter again; nada. I even tried messing with her factions to no avail. I tried all that both before killing and resurrecting her and after. The mods I'm running are as follows, maybe there's a conflict somewhere that I haven't considered: All unoffical patchesBert's Breezehome Remodled by Berticus0001 (which adds Port Stones to all non-DLC vanilla homes as well as modding Breezehome in Whiterun)Wild Mountain Dairy (also by Berticus0001)Vilja in Skyrim & SolstheimHearthfire Multiple Adoptions by TMPhoenixUlitimate Follower Overhaul (UFO)Children Deserve Better - Hearthfire by NoxideSeveral others, but I think this is all that could interact with adoption at all Yeah... ...compared to the seasoned modders here, I'm just a whelp. LOL If it's not on the net, I'm lost. Any suggestions are appreciated! In the meantime, I'm going to go back and try to figure this out. I've diabled Vilja's "child moving fix" patch because I don't think it takes Multiple Adoptions into account. Hrm. Or maybe the child Dovakiir last name is the issue? Never been a bother before. Argh. As much as I adore Vilja, I didn't have half the problems I have now without that mod. I swear, it's like a cancer that takes over Skyrim and snakes its tendrils into everything and messes up coding. Sigh. Though, traversing Apocrypha with Vilja is kind of nice. Less creepy. LOL
  10. Thank you BlackRampage! Couldn't find the order in which to put the console commands anywhere for that! Trial and error obviously failed me. Lol
  11. Derp. Ok. I disable the wrong bleeping door. So. Yeah. I feel like a genius. Regardless though, is there a way to enable disabled and invisible NPCs/objects!? In case I eff things up again? P.s. I reloaded a previous save and disabled the GATE, not the DOOR. Sheesh. Why they used the word "door," in that instance I'll never know.
  12. WARNING: Possible Spoilers! . . . . . . . . . So, I had a glitch with the Nightingale quest line in which Karliah heads for the exit rather than pulling the chain to go stand on the markers and talk to Nocturnal (where you become a Nightingale). I followed the Help directions on UESP Wiki which said to disable the main door and then disable and enable Karliah before going to the gate and using the "moveto player" console command. I got everything to work. Nocturnal spoke, we're ready to go kill Mercer..... Except now the main door is invisible and I have no idea how to enable it again!!! I can walk out of the opening and fall into the "sky," for a while before dropping back into the cave entrance but there's nothing to click to enable the door again! I can't find any help elsewhere on the internet and can't find the code belonging to the missing door. I am stuck. Anyone have any idea how to replace the door so I can leave?
